Thats what mine says for all of my email addresses, and I dont use
MugBook either lol.
Its even got a private email addy I keep only for family.

I was asking my son earlier about it, and he reckons its picking up
the email addies when we create them on sites like Yahoo, MSN ect.
That seems to explain how it has got all of mine, yet I only use one of them
for websites like this forum.

It wont allow you to delete the email addies from its database.

If you delete your email account, and create a new one, then if my son
is right, then it will pick that one up too.

What I am wondering however is this....
If you get a Yahoo email for everyday use.... it is possible isnt it
to create what Yahoo call `Disposable email addresses`
which you use from your main Yahoo account.

It works like this :

You need to pick a `base` word.
Lets say (for eg) you pick the word `Blue`
Then it asks you to create a disposable word...
So again lets say you pick `Skies`
Then you`ll end up with an email address that looks something
like this : [email protected] etc.

You obviously need to keep your `base` word, but you can DELETE
that disposable addy whenever you want... and create another
by choosing another word to follow your `base` word `Blue`
Maybe next time you`ll choose something like this :
[email protected] etc

As I see it, that should CONFUSE their wretched system, whilst
you can keep creating more & more disposable addresses so long
as you take care to choose a sensible `base` word that will
make sense when you add another word to it.

If you then DONT use your original Yahoo email address, then at
least all that site will have on you is your email address, which basically is useless to them.

Anyone got any better ideas - PLEASE SAY SO.....
That`s a horrible website - but it only reflects the sort of world we are
very quickly finding ourselves living in.

Talk about `planet of the apes` - and yep, we`re the apes - and
they`re gawping in on us.... chucking us a few peanuts & a banana
here and there to try and keep us happy.

Hi
Yes, I`ll go into my `settings` and see if I can find how to unblock my email for you LOL.

I`m seriously thinking of leaving - I dont like what TPTB are doing using the internet.

I`ll post back when Ive been in settings.

thanks.

2nd message :

Okay as far as I can make out Ive `enabled` private messaging for you `1964`

take care.
Thank you! I sent you a message. You're thinking of leaving the forum, or the internet altogether? I've had the same thought soooo many times.

Wow, I checked out these two. Found only one person I know. Looks they're going to need more tuning, but not hard to see where they're headed.

I guess we're finally seeing it firsthand, what all the "social networks" have been about - a method of collecting people's information.

Funny how you can 'think' something is a conspiracy, and then still be shocked by it when you see that it's actually true.

If you think about it, the least dangerous thing is someone knowing your email address. What can a person do with your email address, except write to you?

As far as being tracked goes, I think it's our ip addresses we need to worry about most. If your computer has the same ip address wherever you go on the 'net, then it doesn't matter how many different email addresses; or how many different nicknames you use. Your computer can still be identified.

That's another thing I was reading recently. All those pretty links we see at different websites, that make you wanna click on them A lot of those are for the sole purpose of letting the owner of the link know that you/your computer was there. So the same company places multiples of their links at different websites, and they can start tracking where people travel on the 'net. Cookies work in a similar way. But if you have cookies turned off, then you can still be identified by simply clicking on a link.

If want to surf the web anonymously, then you have to start learning the ins and outs of hiding your actual computer while you surf. After that, don't leave any identifying information anywhere. And don't say anything online that you wouldn't be willing to say to people in person. Keep everything else for people you know you can trust. I still make mistakes in trusting certain people, but a lot less than I used to.

hi, we have a similar page in germany here. if you never filled out real information on the net then you can be sure those machines wont find it also. the amazon wish list is quite normal. delete it in your amazon account. i found myself also on the net with this list. i was disgusted finding that.

Have you guys heard about Spokeo? A LOT of your personal information is posted online for all to see on their website.

I've posted a detailed notice of what to do on our main website and am sending this message to my entire address book. This is a massive invasion of privacy and MOST of the listed information is dead wrong. Regardless, it can paint a big X on your forehead.

I spent this entire Saturday morning ravaging my email addresses and consider it time well spent. If you received a double notification, my apologies. This is too important a matter to inadvertently leave someone off notification.

Holy crap - it gets worse.I am in the U.K.There's no data on my name per seh. However,I ran a search for an old yahoo e-mail account which I long since closed down & for some reason,it's still showing as a valid e-mail.
Loads of data availble were I to pay the premium.Claims I'm a member of a social network, which I'm most definitely not.
The most obvious explanation being that someone else is now using that address (I believe yahoo releases them after 6 months).
This is where it gets well dodgy.I set up that address as a n00b on the 'Net 7 years ago.Not knowing any better,I used my name in the address.

Warned my ex-partner, he is American - he has only just this week bought a house in Florida and the address and phone number is on there already.

I'm seriously pissed, searching old email addresses of mine is making me cringe! Nothing came up for my name, just email.

Exclamation There's no escaping now!

But really, wow... what a pain in the arse! - I mean, absolutely nothing wrong with valuing privacy & most certainly doesn't equate to hiding or having secrets... (not that there really are any tho... )

It seems to have the most information from my email address which I used for myspace and facebook etc but of course the information I used for those is not 100% serious. My name and address information was based on my old home phone with at&t I think. I am pretty sure there must be something similar for other countries. There is no such thing as privacy on the internet.

I wish I made as much money as they say I make.

Thanks for the heads up. Someone had suggested on another thread to give conflicting information and for every left wing site that you belong to join a right wing site, etc to keep things confusing.
I was on here and my picture too via facebook. Too bad, Facebook makes keeping in touch easy, but looks like I'll have to get off of there. Although I imagine there will be less and less privacy in the future. No need to chip us, just have us join facebook. fookers!
Thanks again for posting this info.

I have never had a myspace or facebook page. I belong to 2 forums and have never used my real name. I have shopped and banked online.

When I pulled up my name - my heart skipped a beat - it not only has my address and phone number it also lists my lifestyle and hobbies.

It said what type of vehicle I drive. It said I had cats. It said I liked gardening and travelling. It said I was "self-driven" (is that code for unemployed????) how does this thing determine that I am "self-driven"? I have never owned my own business and I don't recall visiting any self-help websites - so that is just effeed up that personality traits are assigned.

Where is it getting this from? From websites I have visited presumably. Does my internet carrier give out this information - because that is the only why I can figure how it can be traced back to my name????? Or are my bank statements not private?????
