Default UN Investigates UK Poverty

What with Brexit coming to the end of its gravy train, another thing pops up!
A UN investigation into extreme poverty in the UK!

https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/con...campaign=share

No plans to investigate the UN's freebies for inspectors. But first time!
Maybe they've looked at the UK and thought "Well it's cherries have long gone, but what the hell!".
This should have made as much news as the woman who set herself on fire in a Tory council building.
As much as should have happened 2010!

They are also open to hearing from people/data mining what other options are there?
How long will this be dragged out for? And for comedy, what shitty attempts to "improve" lives will be implemented?

There could be a million or more undocumented people living in the UK so some basic fact checking wouldn't go amiss whilst they are looking in to this?

The inflated property market creates artificial and yet extreme poverty.
How much of people basic income is lost on high rents because investors have pulled their money out of stocks and into safe 'property'.

Perhaps if they passed a law that made all rented property fit for human use unscrupulous investors would think twice about speculation on second, third and fourth properties to rent for profit, forcing people to live is squalor and damp that is detrimental to their health so save money on renovating the properties to a decent standard for living.

Housing is a human right, not a luxury

Can you imagine the riots if the UN went to investigate extreme poverty in America?
If this had happened under a Labour government we'd have no end of front page headlines about it. But instead, just this "We won't mention it if you won't".
And I don't even think these are the interesting times we are said to be cursed to live in!

Poverty is always relative dependent on location.

There will always be rich people and always be poor people.

But it seems over the last decade things have got a lot worse for the working class and the people below them.

House prices have increased massively
Wages have not increased
Gas and Electricity have increased massively
Good Food has gone up, junk food hasn't
Inflation has not moved at all (which proves their figures are all lies)
Food banks being used by working people

Whilst the local councillors, MPs, Euro MPs and all the other folk on the gravy train have never had it so good, most people have lost out.

I will save the UN a lot of money and time and tell their staff not to bother coming to the UK to investigate poverty here.

It does exist, and on a large scale, all over the country. The main reason being the ruling class don't give a shit about anyone but themselves, and the country as a whole is still bailing out the rich banks.

Meanwhile working people are going to foodbanks, and people who don't work are going to food banks. Benefits haven't gone up, as inflation hasn't gone up (honest). Add to this a cruel government that wanted to stop peoples benefits for trivial matters to get the benefits figure down.

I am sure the UN report will be a lot more glamourous than everything I have just typed, and it will use all the latest buzz words throughout and be printed on huge reams of glossy paper, but will it tell the truth or will it just be more lies to cover up how the UK really is?
