i wondered what other people thought about it

Sounds like a great read.

What's the story line of the novel? Are you an avid reader, or just read the occasional book here and there?

well tbh i dont usualy read books - well every now and then

story of the book is
a prophecy is found in peru (about evolution of man)
it contains 9 insights that you follow to progress
your spiritual evolution (not gonna spoil anything!)
its fast paced - about the use of spiritual energy

ok that about sums it up - no point in reading it now

but i rly would recomend that you do read it even as fiction

edit - info but dont look at the insights it will spoil the book

The book is poorly written; however the concept is good.

So if you aren't a book snob and you are into spiritual development you will enjoy this.

There's a movie of it?!

Yeah, I read and own the book. The tenth insight too.

I read this series of books about eight years ago and since then I've bought a few copies of the first one to give to people. It's the only book I've given to anyone to 'wake them up' spiritually.

It is a fictional story, along similar lines as the Dan Brown Da Vinci code, but contains some very well explained truth about our identities being of an energetic nature and how we give and take our energy to and from each other.

This book will take the reader through a process whereby he/she will recognise the truth and guidance from a 'higher source' and tangibly experience connecting to that source.

There has been what I've heard described as a "loose cult" that has grown around the books, people have set up their own small groups to follow what the book instructs (I would simplify it to 'channeling')

Bottom line, it's a good little read but it's not the be all and end all of spirituality that some say.

I didn't think the book was very well written but the idea is great. It would be ideal for teenagers or inexperienced readers. The film was terrible!

Yea films kak lol, but i first read the book in the mid 90's and it helped my perception no end and helped me to join up lots of dots. Great books to go hand in hand are HANDS OF LIGHT and LIGHT EMERGING by Barbara ann brennan someone lent them to me at same time, blew my head off.

I have watched the movie, very good concept but poorly delivered. I did find alot of what is explored within it rezonates with myself !

As someone has mentioned, very good for the newbie !

That's pretty much it.

It caused a big stir back in the 90's when it was first released. I found and still find some of it to be very relevant.

I've also read the Tenth Insight.

The book is total fiction

Whether it's a good read or not is up for debate

I don't think it's the best book ever written on spiritual topics, but the fact that the book is fiction is probably what made it so successful. Anything that conveys a positive message and gets large numbers people thinking more deeply about what's really possible, has to be a good thing.

Why a few of you think it's poorly written? Seems most people don't feel a need to criticise it.

Fiction or not, it's a thought provoking read.

I found a copy (new) at my local thrift store. Every time I go to this store I seem to find something enlightening.

Just in the last year I've found:

Synchronicity:the bridge between matter and the mind
Chariots of the gods?
The story of Edgar Cayce
a book about consciousness
and one on healing the soul

I am manifesting all sorts of things that I need at this store for pennies compared to regular stores. It's been all the proof I've needed on the law of attraction.

As far as the book goes, it wasn't great but I did read it quickly and enjoyed having this sort of material presented in fictional form.

I watched the movie back when I was still sleeping and I remember thinking, "Man, this movie is awful, but I'll bet it from a good book,"

Thumbs up Must Read

This book set me off on my journey

I had it given by a friend - I never read books but this one just kept following me around until I had to pick it up - it was very surreal

Once I picked it up I couldnt put it down

Rubbish story - but there is a very deeply spiritual undercurrent that reaches out to anyone who reads it

Would recommend it to everyone
