Default Does "guilt" weaken religions?

I realize how the NWO as well as liberals use guilt as a weapon to bring down societies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhOIoCRVce0 (good explanation offered).

However, whenever I hear religious people speak of guilt they tend to see it as a knife that stabs the soul and causes the person to have to "repent" and do good again. However, if guilt creates shame and also causes mental pain isn't another means to cope with it to just renounce the source of the guilt? Is this why Christianity in general is a weak entity as opposed to, let's say, Islam which tends to call for submission to God and to do more good to offset the bad so the scales on Judgement Day will tip towards the good? If Christianity sees guilt as a tool to get people to do right then perhaps the result will be a lot less Christians and those left feeling bad about life in general.

Most organised religion seems, to me; to be based on guilt.
By inventing a malady they can then sell their 'cure'.

In my experience, it strengthens it. Christian guilt is big in catholic countries. Jewish guilt is also well documented, perticually between Jewish men and their mothers.

I'm not sure about muslim guilt. It seems, at least in the media, more about anger....

don't do things you feel guilty about and you'll stop feeling guilty.

Only people who do not admit responsibility for their actions and do not say sorry for these wrong actions because of their pride experience guilt.

Sometimes guilt is a conditioned mind set.

I'm often dragging up memories from the past, things others have no doubt forgot, and making myself feel guilty over them.

It's a dangerous mind-set, one I want to brake free of....
