Intel’s Israel Team Is At The Forefront Of 5G Tech That Will Revolutionize How We Communicate
By Ricky Ben-David, NoCamels July 11, 2018

American chip giant Intel has long admitted that it has faltered in the past on the mobile revolution, focusing full-steam on central processing units (CPUs) for personal computers (PCs) and servers, and cornering some 80 percent of that market to build a company now bringing in annual revenue of some $62 billion.

Intel’s attempts to gain traction in the smartphone sphere have been lackluster at best, but it has had success with mobile modems. This is all set to change with the company’s transition to a data-centric entity and its harnessing of the nascent 5G technology, the fifth generation of wireless connectivity.

And Intel’s Israel operations are playing a key role in the overhaul.

What is 5G?

5G is set to transform the way we all use the internet by also revolutionizing the current network infrastructure. With greater bandwidth, more powerful processing capabilities and minimal delay (latency), the new generation of wireless connectivity will be able to support unprecedented communications and the transfer of massive amounts of data, according to Intel.

Compared with the current network speed, 4G LTE, 5G is set to be 30 to 50 times faster and will have a dramatic impact across industries and applications.

Not only are movies and games set to download in seconds, sans buffering, Elkana Ben Sinai, VP of the Intel Communications and Devices Group (iCDG) and General Manager of the Wireless Product Group (WPG), tells NoCamels that the technology will herald a “new era for autonomous cars, smart manufacturing, agriculture, industrial facilities, healthcare, retail, military industries and so on.”

During an interview at Intel’s offices in Haifa, Ben Sinai explains what’s ahead.

“5G is a revolution on all levels: devices, cloud operators, service providers, and content providers. It means a whole new network and new infrastructure. There will be a sharp increase in the number of people connected and everything will be connected and able to communicate,” says Ben Sinai, who joined Intel in 2010 after it acquired chip company Comsys, of which he was CEO.

“Your fridge will be able to know that you are running low on milk, for example. Drone deliveries will be everywhere, the use of autonomous cars will lead to zero road accidents, artificial intelligence capabilities will be able to search databases in seconds, medical surgeries will be more precise and reliable, the world itself will be way more robotized,” Ben Sinai adds.

The involvement of advanced robots in our lives is currently limited to Apple’s Siri, [Amazon’s] Alexa, and the like, he explains, but we will soon be able to perform more important tasks while benefiting from more valuable data.

“Intel wants to serve this market. Its vision is to be a data-centric company, dealing best with data through all its stages: collection, transmission, processing storage. It wants to make use of huge computing, storage, and its artificial intelligence and communication capabilities – very few companies have these combinations,” he tells NoCamels. “And 5G is the leading technology to implement the ‘transmission’ part of this vision.”

For Intel, this means that its innovative products, already ubiquitous, will be even more so.

“New hardware will basically be in all aspects: data collection by new sensors (e.g. Mobileye), communication (e.g 5G), computing (e.g artificial intelligence),” Ben Sinai says. An ambitious move into the mobile phone market is also in the offing, as it is “certainly an ingredient” in Intel’s wider vision.

And Intel Israel, he says, is a “very important design center of Intel Corporation, leading some of its strategic developments in the area of computing, communication, security and more.”

Automotive and cybersecurity

Intel also has another edge. Last year, the company acquired the Jerusalem-based Mobileye, a developer of cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies, for a whopping $15.3 billion. Mobileye is considered a leader in advanced driver assistance systems – including pedestrian detection, collision warning – aimed to prevent road collisions.

The acquisition marked Intel’s entry into the vibrant automotive market, and the industry plays a central role in Intel’s vision for the future.

“Autonomous cars will need constant, fast communications, they will move in sync on their own network,” Ben Sinai says, envisioning a future with zero accidents, a better environment due to expected reduced car ownership, and a transformed transportation industry which he says will have to adjust to accommodate self-driving cars.

As for the potential dangers posed by mass connectivity, Intel, he says, “is always thinking about security, and established a division at the Intel management level dedicated to looking for breaches and vulnerabilities.”

Ben Sinai also points to the collaboration on cybersecurity, and the common effort to find solutions. Last month, Intel announced that it will partner with two Israeli cybersecurity startups for data protection.

Security is a key factor in the industry and will provide another competitive edge for companies implementing protections at all levels, he explains.

Intel and Facebook

Intel’s Israel team has also been working on another unique project – helping Facebook connect the world to the internet.

Facebook’s ambitious plan was first articulated in a 2013 letter posted online by founder Mark Zuckerberg. It has since faltered, but in 2016, the social media giant came up with Terragraph, a plan based on the same idea but with more developed technology. It is aimed at dense, urban areas.

The project involves mounted, Internet-beaming nodes using the 60 GHz band, both free and available in most parts of the world, for a next-generation connection – WiGig.

Named after the Wireless Gigabit Alliance, a trade alliance formed in 2013 to promote the adoption of gigabit wireless tech, WiGig “uses beamforming to send a finely directed signal between devices at a distance of up to 10 meters,” according to 5G.co.uk. “This focused broadcast serves to eliminate any interference from nearby devices, as well as to maintain high performance even in areas where the 60 GHz spectrum might be in heavy use.”

Over a year ago, Facebook turned to Intel, and other partners, for collaboration on the project. Intel’s WiGig team in Israel, under Ben Sinai’s supervision, got to work on a long-range modem, based on 60GHz-WiGig, while providing the network processor and developing the drivers and software to enable the high-speed links.

The WiGig team tells NoCamels that the collaborative solution is a good alternative to the often cost-prohibitive and time-consuming fiber cables option.

Another Israeli team came on board as an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). “Intel has been actively working with leading companies in the industry to introduce cutting-edge wireless solutions to support the next generation of network infrastructure,” said Caroline Chan, vice president of Intel’s Data Center Group and general manager of 5G Infrastructure Division, Network Platforms Group, said earlier this year.

Intel has test sites in Petah Tikva, while Facebook runs one in San Jose. Commercial services may begin as early as next year, they say.

Intel in Israel

Intel employs about 11,000 people in Israel and another 1,000 from Mobileye. It is considered the largest employer in the tech sector.

Earlier this year, Intel submitted plans to nearly double its manufacturing operations in the country, and invest some $5 billion over the next two years. The details of the plans and timetables have not yet been disclosed.

Intel says that since it began operations in Israel, its investment in the Israeli economy has totaled $35 billion.

Brain implants used to treat Parkinson's can be hacked and used to control people, scientists warn
By Natasha Bernal
31 October 2018 • 11:33am

Vulnerabilities in brain implants used to treat Parkinson's disease could be hacked by cyber attackers and used to control people, scientists have claimed.

A report by the Oxford Functional Neurosurgery Group and cyber security company Kaspersky claims that people's memories could be exploited by hackers and has called on cyber security companies, manufacturers and healthcare companies to develop new technology to stop them.

Academics have previously warned that brain implants could prevent patients from "speaking or moving, cause irreversible damage to their brain, or even worse be life threatening'

Brain-hacking & memory black market: Cybersecurity experts warn of imminent risks of neural implants
Published time: 31 Oct, 2018 23:53
Edited time: 1 Nov, 2018 11:39

The human brain may become the next frontier in hacking, cybersecurity researchers have warned in a paper outlining the vulnerabilities of neural implant technologies that can potentially expose and compromise our consciousness.

While basic brain implants are already here, current science indicates we are on the brink of mastering the chemistry of memory. Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy involves implanting a device into the body to send electrical impulses to electrodes specifically placed to treat neurological diseases like Parkinson’s. “Memory implants” like those featured in dystopian TV series Black Mirror will most likely be built on existing DBS architecture. Kaspersky Labs collaborated with Oxford University to test these systems for security flaws before we start linking our consciousness to them, and their report is quite illuminating.

Save Us From Freedom!
JULIAN ROSE

By Julian Rose

-People want to create robots so they can be led by them-

'Freedom once meant something significant for mankind. It meant ceasing to be suppressed and imprisoned by forces that endeavour to control one. The word 'freedom' conjured a sense of what it means, at least to some degree, to be master of one's destiny.

No longer, For many, the new freedom has almost exactly the opposite meaning. Now freedom seems to be associated with having someone or something doing one's thinking for one; making decisions that one 'can't be bothered 'or doesn't want to make - and ultimately completely relieving one from responsibility for taking any form of action other than that which enriches one's pocket and/or one's narcissist fantasies.

In fact this new 'freedom' offers - on a plate - to the oppressor of old the chance to continue his mastery of human control, but under a new guise: the tantalising deception of 'convenience'. That which by-passes the need for mental creative effort (and often physical effort as well) and which makes one believe that there is really little or nothing to do, other than tap a keyboard and get tuned into a cyberspace virtual reality world which will do the rest for one. This is the great tempter of our age. The one that lays out the red carpet for a soft and sly take-over by nothing less than a non human artificial intelligence.

Yes, the superficial seductiveness of the pocket sized touch-button technology of passivity, the human masters of which sit in Silicon Valley and the Pentagon, monitoring every move that serves the further advancement of the totalitarian central control system.

Did slavery ever loose its grip on the great mass of humanity? Have the majority always preferred the safety of mindlessness to the dangers of consciousness? Was Shakespear on the button when he had Hamlet pose the infamous rhetorical question “To be or not to be, that is the question”.

It's a question that should never need to be posed, and indeed never would have been had some betrayal of the divine nature of humanity not taken place, many thousands of years ago. After all, the spirit infused natural make-up of mankind provided all the fuel needed to guide us on our way to the full expression of our potentiality as universal beings. Yet a deviation from this path was established, and has proved to be a strong opiate - a formidable obstacle to the spiritual evolution of our species.

This deviation has gone so far, that nothing less than the ability to retain the power of independent thought is now at stake.

I believe that the social psychologist and historian Erich Fromm was right when he said that 'fear of freedom' was symptomatic in allowing the rise of fascism before World War Two, and that the prevailing sense of insecurity in society generally leads people to abandon hard won civil liberties, for the seeming safety and protection of 'strong leadership', regardless of its motives.

But this type of capitulation plays directly into the hands of those who are best at manipulating peoples' fears; bringing about an ever greater centralisation of power in the hands of the despotic few. A deft slight of hand, that while giving the impression of providing security and leadership, is actually a calculated step towards the totalitarian take-over.

So now, in 2018/19, we find a similar sense of insecurity gripping those who have repeatedly put their faith in cardboard cut-out political figureheads who subsequently proved to be puppets of the deep state and masters of deception. Public confidence in the old way of doing politics has steadily drained away, leaving a vacuum which has not been filled. However, the deep state has long anticipated the arrival of such a vacuum, and indeed has been instrumental in creating just the right circumstances for it.

The present state of malaise, shaped as it is by a growing despair in 'human leadership', offers a particularly ripe moment for bringing forward a 'non human' technological solution to the organisation of day to day life on this planet. An increasing dependence on artificial intelligence as a 'solution' to human failings.

Day to day solutions to the needs of society were once dealt with on the ground, at community level, in a hands-on approach which drew on a shared pool of human skills, inventiveness and judgement. But such qualities have been all too quickly sidelined and the responsibilities that went with them are now left in the hands of those who design computer programmes, algorithms and internet control systems. Systems that side-step collective human participation altogether, in favour of the absolute predictability and complete uniformity of artificial intelligence.

It is the fear of freedom that makes this abdication of human responsibility to the machine such a temptation to large swathes of mankind. Much of humanity still remains conditioned to a parasitical need to be led. Once it becomes apparent that political and corporate leadership is deeply corrupted and not remotely concerned with supporting the health and welfare of human beings, nor the wider environment that supports all living matter, a state of deep insecurity is provoked within society.

A society composed of those who cannot envision what it might mean to take unto themselves a level of actual responsibility for the future and the will to reset the direction of daily life away from dependence upon a figurehead. A figurehead carefully schooled in the art of deception.

People start looking around for someone or something to rely upon to relieve them of their anxiety; when what is actually needed is a robust examination of their lack of self motivation and the sort of inner responsibility that leads one to face reality square-on. To start taking control of one's destiny.

However, such a task clearly remains a tall-order for for much of mankind. And so, led by the agenda of the top down control pyramid, people start abdicating their last human survival instincts in favour of the 'comfort' of a state of mindlessness. A voluntary paralysis of the power of thought that subsumes the normal activities of the neocortex to the programmed agenda of a robot. A sort of contractual abdication of all normal responsibilities, which denies the God given gift of a working brain and sentient heart in favour of 'leadership by cyborg'.

Not so long ago, such an act would have been considered unthinkable. It would have been seen as going against the very nature of a humane value system. A state in which people freely express love, laughter, sadness and pain, as well as empathise with animal and plant kingdom surrounding them.

So, I am led to consider the likelihood that the deep state's planned check-mate move in all this, is the role-out of 5G WiFi . 5G, with its determination to create a global satellite array designed to cover every last square inch of the planet, is designed to power this take-over by artificial intelligence. The AI take-over, in turn, is designed to power the global control system, and the global control system is to power the 'internet of things' which in turn is to power the 'internet of everything'. It may not be in exactly that order, but what emerges are the preplanned moves of the final take-over. The New World Order.

Remember Dr Faustus, selling his soul to the devil? Well, the price of this 21st century contract is the end of humanity as we know it. People, unnacustomed to questioning or challenging authority and fearful of the vacuum created by its absence, want to create robots so they can be led by them; thus opening the way to perpetual slavery to a synthetic god of their own creation, while abandoning altogether any ties with the God who created them.

We stand right at the edge of such an abys. But paradoxically, it comes at a time of rapid awakening. Mankind will either fall or be party to the creation of a beautiful new dawn. A quantum expansion in the evolution of the species. Every one of us is faced by the choice of seeking to make manifest our God given attributes or going into denial of their existence.

The present awakening has, at a critical time, provided us with a new sense of awareness. An awareness of the fact that our future lies in our hands and nobody else's - and so does the planet's. So let us have no hesitation in rising to the occasion, by drawing deeply upon our still accessible God given qualities of courage, dignity and perseverance. We have everything it takes to come through - and this is our ultimate test.

Dunno if this is in the right thread or not, but I am convinced now, more than ever, that DI is right when he says we live in a matrix-type world. I don't have an Alexa or anything similar; just a laptop. A good laptop mind (I need it for work), but that's it.

Our cat got sick with a UTI which necessitated a visit to the vet. We have pet insurance. When we got her home, Mrs. MB said out loud that our premiums will likely go up now. Two hours later, I got an email advising me of a rate increase. That's not all. I hate throwing things out that can be repaired. I have a pair of shoes and teh sole is peeling away from the uppers. I know a repair guy that does good work for a good price. I said out loud to Mrs. MB that should remind me to take them in. I got an email from Amazon suggesting I buy shoe repair glue. Put the wind up me I can tell you.

I have similar experiences.
There's a firm around here at the moment installing new potholes (gas company) named Cadent. They have been at the one site for 4 days now. Never seen them before.
As I walked passed the blokes were languishing in the cab inbibing tea and reading the paper.

I thought to my self cushy job if you can get it, dig a hole, admire it for a few days, connect a new pipe, fill in hole. Job done.
Later that day I was watching a 9/11 video on youtube and an advert comes on for jobs working at Cadent. Weird enough.
Only I have been running adblocker on my browser for years now, but it was getting very snaggy, so I disabled it to see if it cured it.
Bang, there's Cadent.
Films I have mentioned not seeing for a while keep cropping up on Tv, sometimes the next day.

It's that nano particles which made you the hybrid computer and even if you are not using your iphone/laptop etc you can be mind controlled distantly.
You are a robot now.

I control people using my mind control technique too....distantly. For this I never have to use something like NLP or even communicate with them. Just simple telepathy and transmit my script.

Meet IARPA: Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity
December 1, 2018
By Patrick Wood

What type of projects is IARPA working on?

Speech recognition (i.e., universal translators, transcriptions)
Quantum machine learning
Geospatial Intel
Artificial Intelligence
Event forecasting (i.e., pre-crime)
Facial recognition, biometrics
Mapping the Brain using AI

For those who think that the National Security Agency and CIA come up with crazy Intel technologies, now you know where most of it comes from. And, don’t forget that the master fingerprint of the whole enterprise belongs to the Trilateral Commission.
