Well, now all European muslims clearly need to be armed on the streets to protect themselves, while all mosques need to be protected 24/7 by armed police. It would make sense, right?

Anti-Semitism: Official definition will fight hatred - Theresa May

Mods : I have posted both BiBiC articles in full because that is partly what this post is about - the changes made by them to frame any "anti semitism" debate in anti Labour / Corbyn terms, simply because PM Theresa May tried to do the same, turning the alleged issue of anti semitism into party politcs ...

Yesterday, 12 December 2016 the BiBiC published this article :

Web archive : BiBiC : Anti-Semitism: Official definition will fight hatred - Theresa May

12 December 2016
From the section UK

Theresa May will say rising anti-Semitic attacks are "unacceptable"

Having one official definition of anti-Semitism will mean those guilty of hatred of Jews will be "called out on it", Theresa May will say later.

Police, councils, universities and public bodies can use the wording, the prime minister will say in a speech.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's hopes its definition, agreed this year, will be adopted globally.

The definition calls anti-Semitism "a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews."

It goes on: "Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."

"Adopting the international definition will ensure that culprits will not be able to get away with being anti-Semitic because the term is ill-defined, or because different organisations or bodies have different interpretations of it," Downing Street said.

The IHRA - which is backed by 31 countries, including the UK, USA, Israel, France and Germany - set its working definition of what constituted anti-Semitic abuse in May.

The group says having a "legally binding working definition" will give countries the "political tools" to deal with anti-Jewish hate crime.
Racists 'called out'

Police in the UK already use a version of the definition. However, it will now also be used by other bodies, including councils.

Mrs May will say: "There will be one definition of anti-Semitism - in essence, language or behaviour that displays hatred towards Jews because they are Jews - and anyone guilty of that will be called out on it."

She will also insist: "It is unacceptable that there is anti-Semitism in this country. It is even worse that incidents are reportedly on the rise.

"As a government we are making a real difference and adopting this measure is a ground-breaking step."

A synagogue in the Stamford Hill area of north London was vandalised last year

Last week, a man who subjected Labour MP Luciana Berger to an online campaign of anti-Semitic abuse was jailed for two years.

It comes as the Community Security Trust said the number of anti-Semitic incidents in the UK increased by 11% between January and June - from 500 in the same period last year, to 557 this year.

Communities Secretary Sajid Javid said anti-Semitism must be understood for what it is - "an attack on the identity of people who live, contribute and are valued in our society".

"There can be no excuses for anti-Semitism or any other form of racism or prejudice," he said.

"Crimes must always be reported, and the law enforced, but we also want to create an environment that prevents hate crime from happening in the first place."

'Repugnant and unacceptable'

Labour, which has faced accusations that it has failed to tackle anti-Semitism in its own membership, welcomed the move.

A spokesman for Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said hatred towards Jews was "as repugnant and unacceptable as any other form of racism".

Earlier this year Baroness Chakrabarti, the former director of civil liberties group Liberty, chaired an inquiry into anti-Semitism in the party.

It found the party was not overrun by anti-Semitism or other forms of racism, but there was an "occasionally toxic atmosphere".

The inquiry followed the suspension of MP Naz Shah and ex-London mayor Ken Livingstone amid anti-Semitism claims.

The Labour spokesman said Mr Corbyn had "consistently spoken out against all forms of anti-Semitism and condemned all anti-Semitic abuse".

The Chakrabarti inquiry's recommendations had already led to "far-reaching changes to the rules and practice of the Labour Party", he added.

"He has also taken decisive disciplinary action over allegations of anti-Semitism, including a series of suspensions and exclusions from membership," the spokesman said of Mr Corbyn.

The BiBiC then changed the article headline and content to try and frame any debate in anti Labour / Corbyn terms and thereby deflect attention away from the alleged problem of anti Jewish attitudes in the UK ...

The web archive for the BiBiC URL currently shows that :

Yesterday, 12 December 2016 the article was captured 14 times and today, 13 December, changes have been captured a further 11 times.

The earliest 12 December capture at 01:04:01 shows the original headline as posted above :

Anti-Semitism: Official definition will fight hatred - Theresa May

12 December 2016

But by the 11th captured version on the 12th December at 19:00:53 the article had a new headline and much changed content :

The now much changed again article at the same BiBiC URL now carries a different headline, presumably to try and frame any debate in the usual anti Labour / Corbyn dialectic terms ...

BiBiC : Anti-Semitism: Theresa May attacks 'twisted' Labour views

12 December 2016

The UK becomes the first country to adopt an official definition for anti-Semitism

Theresa May has accused the Labour Party of "turning a blind eye" towards anti-Semitism as she announced plans to help tackle hatred of Jewish people.

The UK has adopted an international definition of anti-Semitism, which police, councils, universities and public bodies can use.

Announcing the move, the PM said it was "disgusting" that anti-Semitic views were being found in British politics.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's spokesman said anti-Semitism was "repugnant".

'Hard-left allies'

But Mrs May told a lunch of the Conservative Friends of Israel in London that the Conservatives were taking "the firmest stand" against anti-Semitism.

The prime minister said that a clearer definition would "call out" anyone guilty of anti-Semitism in "essence, language or behaviour", saying it was "unacceptable that there is anti-Semitism in this country".

"It is disgusting that these twisted views are being found in British politics," she said, adding: "Of course, I am talking mainly about the Labour Party and their hard-left allies."

Labour, which has faced accusations that it has failed to tackle anti-Semitism in its own membership, said it welcomed the introduction of a new definition.

Mr Corbyn's spokesman said the party believed "language or behaviour that displays hatred towards Jews is anti-Semitism, and is as repugnant and unacceptable as any other form of racism".

On Tuesday, the government will publish its response to the Home Affairs Select Committee's calls for political leaders to do more to tackle the issue.

Its Anti-Semitism in the UK Report criticised Mr Corbyn for a lack of "consistent leadership" on anti-Semitism but said that the majority of abuse was motivated by far-right parties rather than Labour.

It deems anti-Semitism as a "certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews".

It adds: "Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."

Downing Street said anti-Semitic behaviour could be overlooked because the term was ill-defined, with different organisations adopting their own interpretations.

Police in the UK already use the IHRA definition. However, it can now also be used by other bodies, such as councils and universities, although it will not be legally binding.

Universities UK, the umbrella body for the sector, confirmed it was looking at the plans, saying that existing definitions were "variable and sometimes contested".

'Scourge' in society

Sir Eric Pickles, the UK's envoy for post-Holocaust issues, told the BBC that the new definition addressed "modern" forms of anti-Semitism.

He said that holding Jewish people "accountable for what's happening in Israel" was one example.

"We've moved into a new phase of anti-Semitism, and it's important that definitions keep up," he said.

Ephraim Mirvis, the chief rabbi of the UK and Commonwealth, welcomed the move for tackling what he called a "scourge in our society".

Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis: "I would like to salute the prime minister for her leadership"

"My hope is that the adoption of this definition will provide a clarity which will herald a far more effective discourse on the ways that we can highlight and challenge anti-Semitism wherever it is found," he added.

The Community Security Trust said the number of anti-Semitic incidents in the UK increased by 11% between January and June - from 500 in the same period last year, to 557 this year.

Last week, a man who subjected Labour MP Luciana Berger to an online campaign of anti-Semitic abuse was jailed for two years.

Communities Secretary Sajid Javid said anti-Semitism must be understood for what it was - "an attack on the identity of people who live, contribute and are valued in our society".

"There can be no excuses for anti-Semitism or any other form of racism or prejudice," he said.

***

The version I have saved included this paragraph with a link to the new definition of anti semitism adopted by the UK, whereas in the latest live version of the same article the link to the new definition is gone ...

***

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which the UK belongs to, created the definition.

It calls anti-Semitism a "perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews".

The definition adds: "Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."

The prime minister told a lunch of the Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) in London that a clear definition would "call out" anyone guilty of anti-Semitism in "essence, language or behaviour".

The UK becomes the first country to adopt the IHRA's definition, which created the wording in May.

12.12.2016

The UK government is to formally adopt a definition of antisemitism based on the working definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance on 26 May 2016.

A Downing Street statement said the purpose of the definition was to “ensure that culprits will not be able to get away with being antisemitic because the term is ill-defined, or because different organisations or bodies have different interpretations of it”.

The IHRA’s non legally binding working definition of antisemitism reads: “Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”

In a statement made following the announcement, the IHRA Chair, Ambassador Mihnea Constantinescu, said:

"Working on the principle of consensus, the IHRA adopted the non-legally binding working definition on antisemitism as a sign of the great political commitment among IHRA Member Countries to combat antisemitism. With this working definition, the organization aimed to set an example of responsible conduct for other international fora and for national governments, hoping to inspire them to adopt a legally-binding working definition themselves.

The IHRA considers it the obligation of all governments to actively combat antisemitism in all its forms. The IHRA’s founding document, the Stockholm Declaration of the year 2000, clearly states “With humanity still scarred by genocide, ethnic cleansing, racism, antisemitism and xenophobia, the international community shares a solemn responsibility to fight those evils. Together we must uphold the terrible truth of the Holocaust against those who deny it.” Read the full statement.

For more information, please consult the fact sheet on the working definition of antisemitism and the press release on the adoption of the working definition of antisemitism in May 2016.

In October 2013 the IHRA's 31 Member Countries adopted a working definition of Holocaust denial and distortion.

According to excerpts of her speech released in advance, Theresa May said: “It is unacceptable that there is antisemitism in this country. It is even worse that incidents are reportedly on the rise. As a government we are making a real difference and adopting this measure is a groundbreaking step.

“It means there will be one definition of antisemitism – in essence, language or behaviour that displays hatred towards Jews because they are Jews – and anyone guilty of that will be called out on it.”

The UK Police College already use a version of the IHRA definition to help officers decide what could be considered antisemitism. Read more on the BBC and in the Guardian.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance unites governments and experts to shape and advance Holocaust education, remembrance and research world-wide, to speak out on Holocaust related issues including antisemitism, and to uphold the commitments of the 2000 Stockholm Declaration.

The Jewish Human Rights Watch and the UK's adoption of the new anti semitism definition on 12 December 2016

So, as usual, I wondered, for such an historic announcement, what was so special about Theresa May's lunch at the Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) on 12 December 2016 ?

I recently discovered this article while researching the BDS movement in the UK.

War on Want campaign (press release)

16/02/2015 Press Release

Today we announce the arrival of Jewish Human Rights Watch, a new organisation dedicated to exposing the anti-Semitic and racist BDS Boycott Divestment Sanctions.

We are at 0830 this morning gathered outside War On Want Headquarters (44-48 Shepherdess Walk, London N17JP) to protest against War On Want’s “War on Jews”.

For several years now War On Want has lead BDS actions against the Jewish community with their boycotting of Jewish goods, businesses, artists and academics.

Having just marked the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we find it both shocking and distressing that War On Want should be complicit in organising boycotts of Jews, akin to those the Jews suffered in Nazi Germany.

At a time of rising attacks on Jews across Europe, War On Want must understand that their actions are contributing to the incitement of hatred of the British Jewish community.

We therefore call upon War On Want to end its discriminatory policies and dissociate itself from BDS.

In '1984' orwell explains that it is not enough for big brother to control people and destroy its opponents; it must also destroy any dissenting idea in the minds of its opponents. This is why people are taken to room 101 to be reprogrammed through trauma based mind control before they are then released; after they have been released for a while they will simply dissapear one day

big brother wants to know that the idea of dissent does not exist in its victims head when it blows their brains out

There's not another war on Jews is there? How many is that now? Does it even matter if they're real anymore?

Come on kids, it's a protest of Israel, not Jewish people. That illegal, hateful state of Israel where native inhabitants are being killed and shuffled around while Jewish children are being taught to hate other children who live just feet away from them.

Lets not bog this down with any more of this anti Semitic bullshit, it's part of creating a problem, not proffering a solution. Israel sucks, protest the illegal, hateful state of Israel; it's no good for the Jews who live there and are taught to hate based on a lie. It's certainly no good for the Palestinians...

They never seem to factor their behavior and attitudes into the equations.

Not allowing people to criticise or question and labelling, targetting anyone who discusses the barbaric "state" known as Israel as racist or whatever is just making people angrier and creating what they claim to be fighting.

My own perspective - My distaste for Israel and their puppets in the UK has gotten stronger and more concrete every time they try to prevent discussion.

Grow up and debate!

We know you use "Anti-Semitism" and other factors as a means of shutting down discussion and lining your own pockets. People should treat the label "anti-semetic" as being an ad-hom attack these days. >_>

Noticed the thread is more than a year old but look where we are now - Anger at Israel is continuing to increase.

You also can't order human beings to feel and think one way but not another way without making them angry after a while.

It's like telling me to look at the evil in the middle east while sucking our government dry from within - nothing but a calculated tactic.

/end rant

Bonus!!

Singing Am Yisrael Chai in parliament should be considered treason.

Have a nice day!

Yes and with the horrible irony that the it's same folks who put Hitler in power are the same who are behind the creation of Israel, hanging over the whole thing.

I know, i wonder how many people in Israel know this? Surely if they knew and understood this it would be easier to change the path this is heading down.

Said people are also hiding behind Jews because of the protected status - which is sick on so many levels it's hard to find words for it.

I don't think people such as the Rothschilds have a real plan for Jewish people once their work is complete..

They don't give a damn about the Jewish people either. They use the Jews just the same as every other group. But through "great" organizations like the ADL, they try to remind the Jews that they are victims, everybody else hates and is jealous of them, and they need to get the jump on hating everyone else so a "Holocaust of 6 million" doesn't happen again.

Not all Jews believe this. There are fine Jewish people out there working for the right side too.

Yes, and Hollywood shows us that in an economic crisis, we will all ravenously kill and eat our neighbours in uncontrolled frenzy. The power of suggestion is very powerful, repeatedly hammering said suggestion is a great idea for reinforcing it.

Always talking about how they are going to control us.... I'd really like to know what happened here, because they are watching everything and have openly increased the ways they do so over the last few years, but if anything, a lot of us are more "out of control" now than we've ever been.
