While it is possible the Cavendish Banana will go instinct, it is a seedless hybrid and only grown in cultivation, It is the most common found in American grocery stores there are many Banana varieties and many are self seeding (Yes most bananas have seeds.)

Overall many banana varieties are thriving not only on plantations but also in the wild.
