I had the pleasure of the beast last week when visiting someone.

It was only on in the background (not that that makes it any less harmful) but I noticed something peculiar.

It was a chat-show and the guests included two actresses pushing their latest bits. One was an American film entitled "It's war" and the other was Alex Kingston promoting the new series of Upstairs Downstairs, which will commence at the outbreak of WW11 (1938).

I might not have thought anything of it, but it did strike me as strange that there was so much mention of "war" in one light-hearted chat show.

I haven't watched TV for some time now, but you really notice this stuff when you get a quick dose of it sometimes.
