Someone unheard of in academic circles, but oft quoted in Neo-Nazi circles. Why do you think that is?

The founder of Wahhabism, Muhammed ibn Abd-al-Wahhab, was not Jewish. He was a Muslim. (The clue is in the name!)

A war was fought between the Sultanate of Nejad (ruled by the Sauds) and the Kingdom of Hejaz (ruled by the Sharif of Mecca) with the Sauds winning - in 1925. Seven years later the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came into being.

The Wahhabism branch of Sunni Islam became the official form of Islam recognised and observed in Saudi Arabia.

Since the 70s especially, the Saudis have used their oil billions to aggressively promote Wahhabism, both directly - and indirectly, by globally supplying 'free' Korans and Islamic teaching materials that are slanted towards the Wahhabist religious and world view.

PS: Ayniyah is in Oman, west of Muscat.
Uyayna, in what is now Saudi Arabia, was the birthplace of al-Wahhabi
All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.
