Lightbulb MacRae

Willie MacRae (18 May 1923 – 7 April 1985) was a Scottish naval officer, lawyer, orator, politician and anti-nuclear campaigner..In the Second World War he served in the British Army and then the Royal Indian Navy.. He supported the Indian independence movement and for much of his life was active in the Scottish National Party (SNP)..On 5 April 1985 MacRae left his Glasgow flat at 18:30 to spend the weekend at his cottage near Dornie, Ross-shire.. He was not seen again until the next morning around 10:00, when two Australian tourists saw his maroon Volvo saloon car on a moor a short distance from the junction of the A887 and A87 roads Bun Loyne, Glenmoriston, Inverness-shire..The car was straddling a burn about 90 feet (27 m) from the road.. The tourists flagged down the next car to pass, whose driver turned out to be a doctor, Dorothy Messer, accompanied by her fiancé as well as David Coutts, an SNP Dundee councillor who knew MacRae..It was discovered that MacRae was in the car..His hands were "folded on his lap", his head was "slumped on his right shoulder", and there was a "considerable amount of blood on his temple"..

A87 road..

He was not wearing a seat belt..A weapon was found the next day, in the burn over which the car had been discovered, 60 feet (18 m) from the vehicle.. It was a Smith & Wesson .45 calibre revolver which had been fired twice..Although it was ruled at the time by authorities that MacRae's death was undetermined, aspects of the investigation remain disputed, some claiming that the distance from MacRae's car at which the gun was found and the lack of fingerprints on it rendered a suicide not credible..Neither MacRae's medical reports nor the post-mortem data have been released to the public and there was no fatal Incident inquiry..The A87 is a major road in the Highland region of Scotland..It runs west from its junction with the A82 road at Invergarry (NH307011), along the north shores of Loch Garry and Loch Cluanie, then down through Glen Shiel and along Loch Duich to Kyle of Lochalsh before crossing the Skye Bridge to Kyleakin, Broadford, and Portree, before terminating at Uig on the west coast of the Isle of Skye..

The Mysterious Death of Willie MacRae..

The investigation was headed by Chief Superintendent Andrew Lester of Northern Constabulary CID..Barry Strevens, an X-detective chief inspector for Cheshire police and former bodyguard to Margaret Thatcher, also claimed he warned her that another of her aides, Peter Morrison, allegedly held sex parties with under-age boys..Strevens said that, despite his passing on the allegations to Thatcher, she later promoted Morrison to the position of deputy chairman of the Conservative party..The Scottish Sunday Express published a claim in November 2014 that in 1985 a Scottish solicitor and former vice-chairman of the Scottish National Party, Willie MacRae, had evidence about paedophiles in the Scottish and English establishments..On 5 April 1985, MacRae's car crashed on a remote stretch of the A87 road in Inverness-shire; he was shot in the head with a revolver and left to dye..The evidence was supposedly in a briefcase in McRae's car at the time but disappeared..The gun was recovered some distance from the car, but there were no fingerprints.. In 2006, a former policeman, Iain Fraser, who worked as a private investigator after leaving the police, said he was asked by a mystery client to spy on McRae 3 weeks before he died.. Fraser added to calls for a public inquiry into the DEath..Repeated requests for an official inquiry into MacRae's DEath have been turned down..Why don't we go check out something?.. brightest flame casts the darkest shadow..I thought the most beautiful thing in the world must be shadow..Just remember this - in this country they drive on the wrong side of the road...
