And, of course, it's all the fault of the Jews! Quelle surprise!

Wahhabism has been in the world since the eighteenth-century. Small-scale to begin with, but globally promoted in recent decades by the Saudi oil billions.
And the House of Saud was founded in 1744.
Nothing to do with the Jews, how absurd!

And all this tripe about a British drive to create a Zionist state ... The Zionist Federation was shamelessly used by Lloyd George to serve British war interests (in WW1), as indeed the Bedouins were - to tie up Ottoman forces.

Lloyd George never honoured his 'promise'. Successive British Prime Ministers never honoured the 'promise'. The plan was officially abandoned in 1939, which is why Jewish insurgents were battling the British after WW2.
When the British mandate over Palestine ended, we walked out leaving no Israel and the Jews, as the British military believed, to be wiped out.
Due to not wanting to upset our oil deals with the Arabs and being decidedly anti-Semitic after the King David Hotel attack and the other insurgent attacks, we abstained in the UN vote.

Lloyd George may have stirred up Jewish nationalism, but equally so, his double-dealing stirred up Arab nationalism too.

The Kingdom of Hejaz and the Sutanate of Nejd asserted their own independence in the vacuum left by the fleeing Ottomans, and as it was nothing but sand, and as it contained the Muslim holy cities, which the British recognised would have inflamed the Muslim inhabitants of their Empire had they sought to annexe it, they left them to it.
All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.
