“Europe's nations should be guided towards the superstate without their people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will irreversibly lead to federation.”

This quot is suppose to come from a letter, which Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of the EU, sent to a friend in 1952. I have seen it come up a number of times regarding Brexit (in David Icke's videocasts for example). My question is; where is the source to this letter? Is it mentioned anywhere?
I'm curious to know, cheers!
