I read the original article, it's from the Daily Mail so it's hard to actually know what's real (as the top rated comment says, the writer clearly doesn't understand genetic science), but it looks like one chromosome has 3 copies, not 2. It sounds like he's had a few problems, which might be incidental (i.e. whatever gave him his extra DNA might've also trashed a few other genes), but might be some unfortunate recessive conditions presenting since some genes have 3 copies.
