Default All-Time Greatest XI Cricket Team

Here's mine:

1. Matthew Hayden
2. Don Bradman (c)
3. Sachin Tendulkar
4. Brian Lara
5. Viv Richards
6. Gary Sobers (vc)
7. Adam Gilchrist
8. Wasim Akram
9. Malcolm Marshall
10. Shane Warne
11. Glen McGrath

I've seen all of these play in my lifetime, except Bradman and Sobers, but their records and reputations make them automatic selections.

Bradman is out of place as an opener, but if anyone should be able to adapt to the change of role, it's him.

I'm slightly leery about including Matthew Hayden, but his record and aggression speaks for itself, and it sets up an ideal left/right opening combination situation with Bradman.

The middle order, including Gilchrist, pretty much pick themselves, for me.

Bowlers I ran out of room for, include Ambrose, Lillee, Holding and Hadlee.

I'm Australian, and there are 5 Aussies in the team, which is always a bit suspicious, but I tried to rule out any jingoistic bias and just pick the best XI I could think of.

Couldn't find a spot for any Poms, sorry. Phil Tufnell must feel robbed.
