I'd imagine there is something in this article...

Etta James: Soul legend dies in California

Lupe de Leon said the singer died early Friday at a hospital in Riverside, California. She was 73 years old.
Tintin mentions Brighton quite a bit in his last post, there is a Restaurant here called the Riverside where I purchased two T-Shirts for a Couple who where from Brighton. It was the same day we where all watching the works shovelling Mud away after the floods.

In the article you see the following...

She would have turned 74 on Wednesday.
I also went to the Wiki page for where I noticed the following...

1942 – World War II: Thailand declares war on the United States and United Kingdom.
I didn't know Thailand went to war with America and the UK.

She was doing just that when bandleader Johnny Otis, who also died this week, found her singing on San Francisco street corners with a couple of girlfriends in the early 1950s.
From the Article I'm also wondering if there might be a link to
Hawking was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge for 30 years, taking up the post in 1979 and retiring on 1 October 2009.
Otis and Lucas to me means
when I worked on at CAV in London and the other at Vauxhall motors in Ellesmere Port and Luton (I think) and they where situated at the end of large Ovens.

I'll look into it a bit more.
