Valentine's Meat Juice..

The Valentine is a museum in Richmond, Virginia dedicated to the history of the city..The funds for the museum were provided by Mann S. Valentine II, who made his fortune with Valentine’s Meat Juice, a health tonic made from beef juice invented as early as 1870..According to Style Weekly, the beef juice's "health claims were at best dubious"..Mann and his sons earned their fortune from the Valentine Meat Juice Company..Mann S. Valentine II's brother Edward Virginius Valentino also had an interest in history and was a well-known sculptor.. Valentine (November 12, 1838) was an American sculptor born in Richmond, Virginia.. He studied in Europe-in Paris with Couture and Jouffroy also completed this statue for the Louvre's Henri IV Wing, in Italy under Bonanti, and with August Kiss in Berlin..He briefly headed the Valentine Richmond History Center, which was founded by his brother, Mann S. Valentine, Jr..The Wickham-Valentine House, part is on the National Register of Historic Places and was named for him and his brother..He died on October 19, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia..According to the museum website, Edward left a large collection of sculpture, papers, furniture hand memorabilia to the museum in his will ..
