Label Island...
The cover features bandmember Bryan Ferry's then-girlfriend, model Jerry Hall, striking various poses on rocks near South Stack, Anglesey..The idea for the location was Bryan Ferry's, after he saw a TV documentary about lava flows and rock formations in Anglesey, in which South Stack was heavily featured..There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season.. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower..It is best known for its breeding seabirds, including puffins, razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes and fulmars.. Peregrine falcons and choughs also nest on the cliffs..The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk..The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete..Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y T?r, Holyhead Mountain and T? Mawr Hut Circles..

Blake + Lighthouse ...

Associated Independent Recording (AIR) is an independent recording company founded in London in 1965 by Beatles producer Sir George Martin and his partner John Burgess after their departure from EMI..AIR's first facility opened on 6 October 1970.. It was located on the fourth floor of 214 Oxford Street, containing 4 studios, and later a MIDI programming room...The company built another recording studio on the Caribbean island of Montserrat in the mid 70s..In 89, Hurricane Hugo devastated the island and the Montserrat facility was severely damaged and thus forced to close..Nearly every home on the island was damaged to some degree..The storm also took TV station WBNB-TV off the air by destroying their Transmitter..

West Mouse is located in an area of notoriously strong tides...

The slower speed allowed Hugo to punish the island of St. Croix with the worst beating of any location along the hurricane's destructive path..On the island of St. Thomas, damage was equally extensive.. TV station channel 10 had its transmitter completely destroyed by Hurricane Hugo...The island was originally settled around 1500 BC by the Ciboney people.. They were later replaced by the Arawaks and then the Caribs.. Christopher Columbus sighted the island in 1493 on his second voyage to the "New World"..The species Chiroderma improvisum has not been seen on Montserrat since, and it is feared that it may be extinct on the island..The Guadeloupe big-eyed bat (Chiroderma improvisum) is a species of bat in the family Phyllostomidae, the largest bat in the Americas, eats vertebrate prey including small dove-sized birds ... have crossed oceans of time to find you..To the ships at sea who can hear my voice, look across the water, into the darkness, where's the fog now Dan?..It should be right outside my front door...
