House of Denmark..
Quote:
Sweyn Forkbeard (Old Norse: Sveinn Tjúguskegg; Danish: Sven Tveskæg; 960 – 3 February 1014 Gainsborough, Lincolnshire) was king of Denmark, England, and parts of Norway...His name appears as Swegen in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle.. He was the son of King Harald Bluetooth of Denmark, and the father of Cnut the Great..In the mid-980s, Sweyn revolted against his father and seized the throne.. Harald was driven into exile and died shortly afterwards in November of 986 or 987.. In 1000, with the allegiance of Trondejarl, Eric of Lade, Sweyn ruled most of Norway.. In 1013, before his darth, he became the first Danish king of England after a long effort..Burial Roskilde Cathedral or St. Trinity in Lund...

Harald II of Denmark..

Many details about Sweyn's life are contested..Adam of Bremen's Deeds of the Bishops of Hamburg, and the Heimskringla, a 13th-century work by Icelandic author Snorri Sturluson..Conflicting accounts of Sweyn's later life also appear in the Encomium Emmae Reginae, an 11th-century Latin encomium in honour of his son king Cnut's queen Emma of Normandy, along with Chronicon ex chronicis by Florence of Worcester, another 11th-century author..Gesta Hammaburgensis ecclesiae pontificum covers the entire period known as the Viking Age, from the foundation of the bishopric under Willehad in 788 until the rule of prince-bishop Adalbert in Adam's own time (1043–1072).. The text focusses on the history of the Hamburg-Bremen diocese and its bishops. As the bishops had jurisdiction over the missions to Scandinavia, it is also gives a report of the Norse paganism of the period...

Alive by Pearl Jam ..

Harald II of Denmark was King of Denmark from 1014 until his death in 1018.. He was the eldest son of Sweyn Forkbeard and Gunhild of Wenden, and was regent while his father was fighting Ethelred the Unready in England.. He inherited the Danish throne in 1014, and held it while his brother, the later king Cnut the Great conquered England.. After his death in 1018, he was succeeded by Cnut the Great.. Little detail is known about Harald II..Encomium is a Latin word deriving from the Classical Greek ἐγκώμιον (enkomion) meaning "the praise of a person or thing"...
