Zodiac, a well-known climbing route on the El Capitan rock formation in Yosemite Valley..Once considered impossible to climb, El Capitan is now the standard for big-wall climbing.. "El Cap" has two main faces, the Southwest (on the left when looking directly at the wall) and the Southeast.. Between the two faces juts a prow.. While today there are numerous established routes on both faces, the most popular and historically famous route is The Nose, which follows the prow..Prominence 9 feet (3 m)-El Capitan is a peak in Culberson County, Texas, US, within Guadalupe Mountains National Park.. It is the 8th highest peak in Texas, and rises abruptly out of the Chihuahuan Desert floor; it is considered the "signature peak" of West Texas..Michael Pelkey and Brian Schubert made the first BASE jump from El Capitan on July 24, 1966.. Both men sustained broken bones from the jump..The Colorado City Unified School District had about 1,200 pupils in 2000, when Warren Jeffs ordered Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints members to pull children out of public schools..The district had over 100 employees and 18 administrators at the time..Agathla Peak is an eroded volcanic plug consisting of volcanic breccia cut by dykes of an unusual igneous rock called minette..The mountain is considered sacred by the Navajo..The El Capitan was a streamlined passenger train operated by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway ("Santa Fe") between Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California..First service February 22, 1938-Last service April 29, 1973..As on many "named" long haul trains of the era, a lighted "Drumhead" sign was on the rear of the observation car...

Scorpius is one of the constellations of the zodiac. Its name is Latin for scorpion, and its symbol is Scorpio... It lies between Libra to the west and Sagittarius to the east.. It is a large constellation located in the southern hemisphere near the center of the Milky Way..The constellation's bright stars form a pattern like a longshoreman's hook..In Greek mythology, the myths associated with Scorpio almost invariably also contain a reference to Orion..There is also a version that Orion was better than the goddess Artemis but said that Artemis was better than he and so Artemis took a liking to Orion.. In another Greek story involving Scorpio without Orion, Phaeton (the mortal male offspring of Helios) went to his father, who had earlier sworn by the River Styx to give Phaeton anything he should ask for..The Western astrological sign Scorpio of the tropical zodiac (October 23 November 21) differs from the astronomical constellation and the Hindu astrological sign of the sidereal zodiac (November 16 – December 16).. Astronomically, the sun is in Scorpius for just six days, from November 23 to November 28.. Much of the difference is due to the constellation Ophiuchus, which is used by only a few astrologers..The Babylonians called this constellation MUL.GIR.TAB - the 'Scorpion', the signs can be literally read as 'the (creature with) a burning sting'...
