Curzon Street is located within the exclusive Mayfair district of London. The street is located entirely within the W1J postcode district and is 400 yards to the north west of Green Park tube station.. It is within the City of Westminster, running from Park Lane (past Shepherd Market) to Berkeley Square..The street is thought to be named after George Howe, 3rd Viscount Howe; however it is not until after his death that the title of Earl Howe was taken by someone with the last name Curzon.. Before this time, it was called Mayfair Row..

Curzon Street has been home to various notable members of the peerage.. In 1748, a house was built in Curzon Street for the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, called Chesterfield House..The house was demolished in 1937 and the site was redeveloped as an apartment block.. Adjacent to Chesterfield House were smaller dwellings, which have served as the London residences for a number of members of the peerage, including Lord Hothfield, the Duke of Grafton, Lord Leconfield, Lady Blessington, Alfred de Rothschild, Lord Blythswood and the Earl of Inchcape.. Also to the east was Wharncliffe House, rebuilt in 1750 and renamed for the Countess of Wharncliffe in the late 19th century.. It is now part of the Saudi Arabian Embassy...

Looking westwards along Curzon Street-East End Fitzmaurice Place..

In Chesterfield Gardens, which is a cul-de-sac off Curzon Street during 1964; the second home office of the two offshore commercial stations known as Radio Caroline was established; and later that year at number 17 Curzon Street, the sales office of Radio London was opened, to be followed across the street at number 32 Curzon Street by establishment of offices serving Radio England and Britain Radio. The introduction of the UK Marine Offences Act which became law after midnight on August 14, 1967, forced the closure of all of these offices..The 5th floor was home to AIG Financial Products, the division that "nearly destroyed" the US insurance company and which has been described by reporter Peter Koenig as the "epicenter" of the global financial crisis of 2007–08..It threatened the total collapse of large financial institutions, which was prevented by the bailout of banks by national governments, but stock markets still dropped worldwide..

The intercept stations set up in this effort were known as the "Y" stations.. Marconi receiving stations, British Post Office stations and an Admiralty "police" station all provided intercepts to Hall's Room 40 codebreakers.. These stations were soon joined by enthusiastic amateurs. Barrister Russell Clarke and Col. Richard Hippisley had been logging intercepts of German traffic at their amateur stations in London and Wales..Some 2-dimensional mathematical relationships such as circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas can have more than one y-intercept.. Because functions associate x values to no more than one y value as part of their definition, they can have at most one y-intercept..In his book Spycatcher, former MI5 operative Peter Wright discusses use of an acoustic attack against Egyptian Hagelin cipher machines in 1956.. The attack was codenamed "ENGULF"...

During World War II Leconfield House at the corner of South Audley Street with an address on Curzon Street, became the home of the UK security service known as MI5..The first mention of Audley is in the Domesday Book of 1086, when it was called Aldidelege, when the lands were held by a Saxon called Gamel..Audley is located on the B5500, the former A52 road. Just south of the A500, the village is approximately 5 minutes from the M6 motorway..Excavations have yielded some stonework..Mostafa Mohamed Hesham Al-Gamel (born 1 October 1988 in Giza) is an Egyptian athlete.. He competed for Egypt in hammer throw at the 2012 Summer Olympics..Gamel Hexadecagon Barn is a historic barn located at North Collins in Erie County, New York.. It is a 16-sided barn with a diameter of 80 feet (24 m).. It is a two story frame structure and covered with board and batten siding..It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984...
