Key Hole (KH) is the designation for a series of American optical reconnaissance satellites:Codenamed Gambit, the KH-7 (Air Force Program 206) was a reconnaissance satellite used by the United States from July 1963 to June 1967. Like the older CORONA system, it acquired imagery intelligence by taking photographs and returning the undeveloped film to earth.. It achieved a typical ground-resolution of 2 ft (0.61 m) to 3 ft (0.91 m).. Though most of the imagery from the KH-7 satellites was declassified in 2002, details of the satellite program (and the satellite's construction) remained classified until 2011..The report also stated that GAMBIT had provided the intelligence community with the first high resolution satellite photography of denied areas, the intelligence value of which was considered "extremely high"..The Manned Orbiting Laboratory (MOL), originally referred to as the Manned Orbital Laboratory, was part of the United States Air Force's manned spaceflight program, a successor to the cancelled Boeing X-20 Dyna-Soar military reconnaissance space plane project. The project was developed from several early Air Force and NASA concepts of manned space stations to be used for reconnaissance purposes. MOL evolved into a single-use laboratory, with which crews would be launched on 40-day missions and return to Earth using a Gemini B spacecraft, derived from NASA's Gemini program...

The KH-10 (BYEMAN codename DORIAN) was the classified designation for the reconnaissance mission and equipment of the experimental Manned Orbiting Laboratory (aka MOL), also inaccurately referred to as Gemini B..The system's mission was obviously optical (regarding the presence of the mirrors), but also had a secondary signals intelligence collection mission..A single, unmanned launch of Gemini-B/MOL verified the feasibility of the system. Subsequently the program was cancelled, and no additional hardware flew in space..After DORIAN was cancelled, Project COLT provided 6 surplus 72-inch optical mirrors to the Smithsonian Institute/University of Arizona's Multiple-Mirror Telescope.. The mirrors were constructed by Corning and used honeycombed borosilicate to reduce the weight..The KH-11 KENNAN (KENNEN according to other sources), renamed CRYSTAL in 1982 and according to recently leaked NRO budget documentation currently going by the codename of Evolved Enhanced CRYSTAL (EEC) (but also referenced by the codenames 1010,and "Key Hole"), is a type of reconnaissance satellite first launched by the American National Reconnaissance Office in December 1976. Manufactured by Lockheed in Sunnyvale, California, the KH-11 was the first American spy satellite to use electro-optical digital imaging, and create a real-time optical observation capability..KH-11 satellites are believed to have been the source of some imagery of the Soviet Union and China made public in 1997, as well as images of Sudan and Afghanistan made public in 1998 that were related to the response to the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings..It is believed to resemble the Hubble Space Telescope in size and shape, as the satellites were shipped in similar containers. Furthermore, a NASA history of the Hubble,in discussing the reasons for switching from a 3-meter main mirror to a 2.4-meter design, states: "In addition, changing to a 2.4-meter mirror would lessen fabrication costs by using manufacturing technologies developed for military spy satellites".. A CIA history states that the primary mirror on the first KH-11s measured 2.34 meters, but sizes increased in later versions.. NRO led the development of a computer controlled mirror polishing technique, which was subsequently also used for the polishing of the primary mirror of the Hubble Space Telescope..Later satellites had larger mirrors, with a diameter of around 2.9–3.1 m.. Jane's Defence Weekly indicates that the secondary mirror in the Cassegrain reflecting telescope system could be moved, allowing images to be taken from angles unusual for a satellite. Also, there are indications that the satellite can take images every 5 seconds..Four generations of U.S. electro-optical reconnaissance have been identified..Three electro-optical satellites launched in October 2005, January 2011, and August 2013 are Attributed to Block IV... do you mean "everyone"? EVERYONE..It's always the same thing.. It's when you start to become really afraid of darth that you learn to appreciate life.. Do you like life, sweetheart? That's good, because I take no pleasure in taking life if it's from a person who doesn't care about it.. As a matter of fact, right now I have one in my kitchen that's very clean and smells very nice..Special delivery huh... Let me guess...Chinese? Thai, maybe? Ahh, I've got it..Sicilian...
