The UK Government has come under fire for giving millions of pounds in aid to China, despite the Communist superpower being able to afford an ambitious space programme..The UK gave Beijing a whopping£27.4 million in aid last year, while the country continues to invest heavily in the space race..Perched high on top of one of the giant new reactor buildings under construction at Taishan we had a view over the entire site..It's one of the biggest nuclear plants of its kind in the world:6 reactors being built on the edge of the South China Sea..In front of us construction cranes encircled the egg-like shape of another huge, grey concrete reactor shell.. They swung lazily back and forth..Osborne, the UK chancellor, looked impressed. Mr Osborne had just announced that he will welcome Chinese communist participation in building nuclear power stations in Britain.."Tomorrow will be like today, and day after tomorrow will be like the day before yesterday," said Apollonius. "I see your remaining days each as a tedious collections of hours. You will not travel anywhere..only to a Russian Yacht every now and then You will think no new thoughts.. Older you will become but not wiser.. Stiffer but not more dignified.. When you die, you will be buried and forgotten. And that is all. And for all the good or evil, creation or destruction your living might have accomplished...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KscPUNwThIE
The Nangpa La shooting incident happened on September 30, 2006. A group of unarmed/defenceless Tibetan pilgrims attempting to leave Tibet via the Nangpa La pass were fired upon by Chinese border guards..Kelsang Namtso, a 17-year-old nun, was killed and a number were injured..As many as 32 Tibetans, including children, were taken into custody–many were later released, although suffering torture and hard labour, and some are still unaccounted for.. Nangpa La is a traditional trade route between Tibet and Nepal.. The victims were shot from a distance by border guards as they moved slowly through chest-deep snow.. The Chinese government initially denied the charges, but Kelsang's murder was graphically filmed by a Romanian photographer, who was nearby as part of a climbing expedition..After Romanian photographer Sergiu Matei smuggled the video out of Tibet, it became headline news around the world, drawing attention to the plight of Tibetans under Chinese rule/occupation...

Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness..and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not..What man is a man who does not make the a world better place... http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showp...postcount=1464
