At the time, she was working in the country as regional director for an international development company..Linda was born in Altnaharra, Scotland, in 1974 to John and Lorna Norgrove. She grew up on a croft on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles, attending a primary school in Uig.. She later attended the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway..According to Lewis tradition, Uig is the birthplace of Coinneach Odhar, the Brahan Seer, a Nostradamus-type figure of the 16th century..Uig was the place of discovery of the Lewis Chessmen in 1831..Dressed in men's clothing by her captors, she was first taken into the mountains and then brought to the Dewegal Valley in Chowkai District (which crosses the Korengal Valley). During the Iran hostage crisis in 1979, Richard Marcinko was one of two U.S. Navy representatives for a Joint Chiefs of Staff task force known as the TAT (Terrorist Action Team).. The purpose of the TAT was to develop a plan to free the American hostages held in Iran. In the wake of the disaster at the Desert One base in Iran, the Navy saw the need for a full-time counter-terrorist unit, and tasked Marcinko with its design and development... need a name!
