Rosalind Franklin discovered the full structure of the virus in 1955..Her DNA work achieved the most fame because DNA plays an essential role in cell metabolism and genetics, and the discovery of its structure helped her co-workers understand how genetic information is passed from parents to their offspring..After finishing her portion of the work on DNA, Franklin led pioneering work on the tobacco mosaic virus and the polio virus..She died in 1958 at the age of 37...Franklin was born in Notting Hill, London, into an affluent and influential British Jewish family.. Her father was Ellis Arthur Franklin (1894–1964), a London merchant banker, and her mother was Muriel Frances Waley (1894–1976). Rosalind was the elder daughter, and the second child in the family of 5 children. Her father's uncle was Herbert Samuel (later Viscount Samuel), who was the Home Secretary in 1916 and the first practising Jew to serve in the British Cabinet.. Her aunt, Helen Caroline Franklin, was married to Norman de Mattos Bentwich, who was the Attorney General in the British Mandate of Palestine.. She was active in trade union organisation and the women's suffrage movement, and was later a member of the London County Council.. Franklin herself later became an agnostic.. Her uncle, Hugh Franklin was another prominent figure in the suffrage movement, although his actions, which included attacking Winston Churchill with a whip, embarrassed the Franklin family..She did not hesitate to publish preliminary ideas about DNA in Acta, even before they could be definitively proven. Most of the scientific community hesitated several years before accepting the double helix proposal..., you can tell Alice anything, she's such a good egg she can understand anything..There are some things a woman doesn't want other women to understand..To Kiss Her Meant Death By Her Own Fangs And Claws!.She knew strange, fierce pleasures...Look at that woman over there..Looks just like a cat...
