Judges are now using racially based software to assess whether a defendant is likely to re offend. What have we come to letting machines decide things for us? This comes a day after I was watching an old episode of Star Trek TOS where Kirk is facing court martial following the supposed death of an officer. The main evidence is that of the ships computer. It is discovered that there are certain anomalities and that the records have been faked to get revenge over Kirk. How long before things like this are commonplace? Not just trials but hospital records and so on? To rely on computers is simply not reliable
