NO! To Smart Meters!!!!! TODAY!!!!
someone just emailed me this:
Hi ------,

I received these emails today

From: -------
Subject: Submit evidence to Smart Meter enquiry today!

Dear all,

The UK Parliament has asked for submissions regarding the roll out of smart meters here. Deadline to receive reports and responses is this Thursday UK time which would mean acting right now. If anyone would be kind enough to report of the state of roll out of smart meters in the US and Canada and wherever else in the world, its impact on health, privacy invasion, fires, increased bills and costs etc, this would be wonderful. You can submit your report online. Please see below.

An urgent response is required.

Thank you and God Bless You.

Below is an example of what I sent to the Commons Select Committe today. You need to do it now as tomorrow is the deadline.

There are many serious problems presented by web-enabling our electricity, gas and water supplies and turning our homes into wireless, network-attached nodes on the Internet. From documented (and suppressed) health risks, unwarranted privacy violations and safety issues to the loss of sovereignty & control of our property in our own homes and much higher bills, the Smart Grid will cause far more problems than it purports to solve. In reality, Smart Meters are a money-making solution to a very different challenge - namely, how profit-seeking corporations can continue to monetise further aspects of our lives.

“We don’t want to believe that our new toys to which we are so attached — and which bring in enormous profits — could also cause our demise or that of our children. But science is not about belief. Government should not be either."

- David Servan-Schreiber MD, PhD (1951-2011).

Dr. David Servan-Schreiber was a heavy cellphone user. He died in 2011 from a brain tumour.

I object on the grounds of health and safety effects for people who suffer from electrical hypersensitivity. It is dangerous and the health affects of using this technology is frightening as no one knows the long term health effects of the use of microwave frequencies. I know people who will be left homeless if smart meters are implemented. As you have no proof they are safe they should be banned.

In Canada they have had an "unusual amount of fire incidents involving smart meters", the Ontario Fire Marshall found man reports of overheating meters, and various design flaws that could lead to fires.

Lessons need to be learned from other countries who have jumped into the fire the committee has not acknowledged the effects of smart meter installation in countries where huge numbers of people complain about health effects and rising bills! To ignore worldwide reports of rising energy bills and health effects after smart meter installation whilst referring to smart meter installations as`successful' can only be interpreted as `wilful neglect'. This question is phrased in such a way that it pre-judges this implementation process as successful without taking `consumers' experiences after installation into account!

The conclusion is that we need to listen to the science and the precautionary principle. Big portion of the population will be very unhappy if this committee doesn't listen to the public.

Written evidence to Commons Select Committee

Smart Meter roll-out

Submit evidence online <http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/energy-and-climate-change-committee/inquiries/parliament-2010/smart-meter-roll-out/#>

Written evidence to the inquiry can be submitted online:

Written evidence submission form <http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/energy-and-climate-change-committee/inquiries/parliament-2010/smart-meter-roll-out/form/>

20 December 2012

Smart meters and smart grids have the potential to bring many benefits to the energy industry and to consumers.

For example, energy suppliers are expected to benefit from reduced operating and generation costs, and some of these savings should be passed on to consumers through lower energy prices. Consumers are also expected to benefit from using the information about energy use provided by the in-home display to reduce their energy consumption and save money on their energy bills. In future, automated controls and smart appliances may help consumers to reduce their energy use further.
Some consumers have smart meters already, but most people will not get them until the mass roll-out programme between 2014 and 2019. Evidence from our recent Consumer Engagement inquiry suggests that currently about half of people have heard of smart meters and that not all of them support roll-out. If engagement levels do not increase and people refuse to allow smart meters to be installed in their home, then roll-out may be hindered and consumers may not benefit from the technology as they could. Consumer concerns have hampered roll-out in other countries, and in this inquiry we seek to learn how such concerns could be addressed in order to prevent similar problems in the UK.
The Government has conducted several consultations on different aspects of its Smart Metering Implementation Programme this year and has recently published its responses to these consultations. In its response to the consultation on the Consumer Engagement Strategy, it stated that the larger suppliers will now be required to set up a Central Delivery Body to undertake a centralised engagement programme.
Terms of reference
The Committee will monitor progress towards delivering the smart meter roll-out. We now invite written evidence on any or all of the following terms of reference:

Are the Government’s cost and timescale predictions for roll-out realistic and will it deliver value for money?
What are the potential benefits of smart meters for consumers, and what barriers need to be overcome in order for consumers to realise them?
Is there a possibility that suppliers will gain considerably more than consumers from smart meters? Is enough being done to ensure that any financial benefits accruing to suppliers will be passed on to consumers?
What lessons can be learned from successful smart meter implementation and usage elsewhere in the world?
Will smart meters empower customers to take greater control of their energy consumption?
Will consumers on pre-pay meters obtain the same benefits from smart meters as other consumers?
Should vulnerable customers and the fuel-poor be first in line for smart meters so they can get the benefits sooner?
What is the best way of involving third-party trusted messengers, such as charities, consumer groups, community organisations, local authorities and housing associations in roll-out?
What are the potential obstacles to rolling out smart meters in the UK and how should these be addressed? What pitfalls have hindered roll-out programmes elsewhere and are we doing all we can to avoid them?
Are levels of public awareness of and support for smart meter roll-out increasing?
Is enough being done to increase consumer awareness about smart meters? Could DECC’s consumer engagement strategy be improved?
Are consumers’ concerns about privacy and health being addressed adequately?
Is there any evidence that consumers’ concerns about smart meters are declining or growing?
Will the commercial benefits of smart meter roll-out be captured within the UK?
Will DECC’s current approach to roll-out, including on procurement and establishment of the central Data and Communications Company, deliver an optimal data and communications strategy?
What criteria should DECC use to measure the ongoing success of roll-out?
The deadline for the submission of written evidence is 07 February 2013
Notes on submission of written evidence
As part of a scheme to encourage paperless working and maximise efficiency, the Committee is piloting a new web portal for online submission of written evidence. Written submissions for this inquiry should therefore be sent via the link at the top of this page.
The deadline is Thursday 07 February 2013. As a guideline submissions should be no longer than 3000 words, please contact the Committee staff if you wish to discuss this. If you need to send hard copy please send it to: The Clerk, Energy and Climate Change Committee, 7 Millbank, London, SW1P 3JA.
Submissions should be a Word document, in the format of a self-contained memorandum. Paragraphs should be numbered for ease of reference, and the document should, if possible, include an executive summary.
Submissions should be original work, not previously published or circulated elsewhere. Once submitted, your submission becomes the property of the Committee and no public use should be made of it unless you have first obtained permission from the Clerk of the Committee. Please bear in mind that Committees are not able to investigate individual cases.
The Committee normally, though not always, chooses to publish the written evidence it receives, either by printing the evidence, publishing it on the internet or by making it publicly available through the Parliamentary Archives. If there is any information you believe to be sensitive you should highlight it and explain what harm you believe would result from its disclosure; the Committee will take this into account in deciding whether to publish or further disclose the evidence.
You should be aware that there may be circumstances in which the House of Commons will be required to communicate information to third parties on request, in order to comply with its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Dear All,

The following is very important, it almost sneaked in under the radar. Please take the time to provide some feedback on it to the Commons Select Committee. The more of us that reply the better.

Replies are required by this Thursday (TODAY)

I first heard about this yesterday. "Sneaked" is the word.

What chance the findings will make sure that a full roll-out is still given approval, despite all evidence around the world that this technology is simply not suitable for use :mad:

smart meters are just another form of scalar weapons technology used to destroy humans.

nomorewifi 07-02-2013 04:43 PM

Yep. Destructive, as I said elsewhere :(

tom bombadil 07-02-2013 05:25 PM

this is how to do it
This is what you do folks, its sooooo easy.

You will not be breaking any rules either, but you have to own your home or be friends with the landlord.

First. Locate and buy your own gas and leccy meter.

Second. When they tell you that they are gonna change your meter, tell them to not bother, and to come and remove their meter.

Third. Have your own meter installed by someone you can trust (Corgi regesterd?).

Forth. Set up a tally with the gas supplier company and NOT the middle-man. Pay them instead.

Remember, British gas PLC do not supply gas. They meter it for the gas industry. You now don't have their meter. So...what the fuck does it have to do with them?

vinal 07-02-2013 05:38 PM

I got my letter from the water people, telling me they will be coming to change my meter sometime soon, no metion of it being a smart meter but I guess it is.

What made me laugh is in one sentence it justifys the new meter by telling me it will enable them to check it without disturbing me. In the next sentence it told me that they kknow my meter is outside so the workmen will be able to change it without it disturbing me.

Lol if they can change it without disturbing me then why cant tgey read it without disturbing me. Fucking idiots.

tom bombadil 07-02-2013 05:44 PM

Because in the small print it says that you will pay for the instalastion and supply of this new meter!

Ooooo - er.

Mother Arrested For Refusing Smart Meter Speaks Out

plucky 07-02-2013 06:18 PM

Katherine Albrecht on smart meters (and Jennifer Stahl, too)

Starts at 8:00 minutes:

In the first half, privacy advocate Katherine Albrecht discussed the invasive smart meter technology that power companies are increasingly switching to, Internet privacy concerns, as well as RFID and tracking issues. During the first hour, she was joined by Jennifer Stahl of Naperville Smart Meter Awareness to discuss Stahl's arrest on Wednesday while authorities forcibly installed a new meter on her home. The city of Naperville, IL sent installers accompanied by police to her home, and they cut the lock she had placed on a fence that accessed her meter. She was arrested when she stood in front of her electric meter and refused to move. Stahl, who has a lawsuit pending against the city of Naperville, believes the smart meters will have adverse affects on privacy, health, security, as well as lead to higher bills. The city offered her a wireless meter instead, but she would have to pay an additional $25 per month for it. More on the case here.

This incident represents the kind of heavy-handed techniques that are about to come, Albrecht commented, as most residents have complied with the smart meter installation, authorities "feel entitled to take the remaining holdouts and force them at gunpoint," to accept this surveillance infrastructure into their lives. If we're not careful, within 20 years, she warned, we're going to be watched by our "smart home," and it's going to be like how our cell phones, and the Internet are today, where you're tracked everywhere unless you opt out. She also gave an update in the San Antonio RFID school case, in which a student was expelled for refusing to wear a tracking card. Further details at chipfreeschools.com. Katherine Albrecht was recently a featured guest on the GAIAM-TV show "Beyond Belief with George Noory." Watch an excerpt here.

Btw I reckon its all to do with controlling yr life from a central HQ.

plucky 07-02-2013 06:34 PM

They can do both!

They can make you sick AND link into a central HQ with all your other data! That's what makes them so smart.

busa 07-02-2013 06:45 PM

We had a free Smart meter from EOn for a while.
It was shit so we chucked it away after a month.

We have this BT telly box thing they keep insisting we use to watch our TV.
They keep ringing us up and tell us off for not using it. We arent going to use it.........are we bollocks. Tossers.

alaind 07-02-2013 06:50 PM

Thanks turquoisefire777. Just written objection. I wonder if we will be told how many objections and their nature.

jesuitsdidit 07-02-2013 07:08 PM

I think we r at the point when our only option is to confront them. USA is best placed (before they introduce gun-control) to make a stand. I think its safe to say the military will come in on our side. If they don't then we r fucked anyway, so we have to take that chance.

If u r outside the USA try to get yr hands on whatever weapons u can find. In UK shotguns and .22 rifles are still legal - its not great but its better than nothing; its enough to make them think twice b4 entering yr home.

You can use BB shot in a shotgun. Its like one large ball rather than lots of small shot iirc.

turquoisefire777 07-02-2013 07:26 PM

thanks for the replies folks.

after i got that email from someone i know it just threw me. i had so much stuff to do tonight it's not funny, now i'm trying to get as many people to write their own objections to this rubbish as poz.

If smart meters use the mobile phone system,
can't the SIM card be taken out?

I know the oil companies use smart meters to monitor pipelines,
and that when the cards fail, the meter reverts to being an ordinary 'dumb' meter, and a man-with-a-van is sent to replace it.

that's like saying if your enemy shoots at you can you remove their bullets?

well, the enemy would not want you to do that so they would hide the chip so you can't tamper with it.

also, to come back on the vid by Bill Schnoelen i put up earlier, in it he talkes about how scalar weapons have all kinds of destructive usages. he continues to explain this from around 1:48:00mins onwards in the vid Russia's Secret Weapon To Defeat America.

pay notice to the topics "scalar societal engineering" done via psycho-energetics and "EM/WB" -force amplifiers- etc .
