Crux constellation..

The tank is the 20th century realization of an ancient concept: that of providing troops with mobile protection and firepower.. The internal combustion engine, armour plate, and the continuous track were key innovations leading to the invention of the modern tank..Many sources imply that Leonardo da Vinci and H.G. Wells in some way foresaw or "invented" the tank.. Leonardo's late 15th century drawings of what some describe as a "tank" show a man-powered, wheeled vehicle with cannons all around it..The machines described in Wells's 1903 short story The Land Ironclads are a step closer, in being armour-plated, having an internal power plant, and being able to cross trenches...It is frequently claimed that Richard Lovell Edgeworth created a caterpillar track.. It is true that in 1770 he patented a "machine, that should carry and lay down its own road", but this was Edgeworth's choice of words..The first combinations of the three principal components of the Tank appeared in the decade before World War One..The story opens with an unnamed war correspondent and a young lieutenant surveying the calm of the battlefield and reflecting upon the war between two unidentified armies...

The ankh appears frequently in Egyptian tomb paintings and other art, often at the fingertips of a god or goddess in images that represent the deities of the afterlife conferring the gift of life on the dead person's mummy; this is thought to symbolize the act of conception..Codex Glazier, designated by siglum copG67, is a Coptic uncial manuscript of the New Testament on parchment.. It is dated palaeographically to the 4th or 5th century.. Textually it is very close to Greek Codex Bezae..The manuscript has some illuminations; at the end of the manuscript, on additional leaf, it has a picture with a great crux ansata (cross with handle), a motif appearing in Coptic textiles and stone sculptures..

The Stranglers - Tank..

The word tank was first applied to the British "landships" in 1915, before they entered service, to keep their nature secret. Several explanations of the precise origin of the term have been suggested, including..It arose in British factories making the hulls of the first battle tanks: workmen and possible spies were to be given the impression they were constructing mobile water tanks for the British Army..The term was first used in a secret report on the new motorised weapon presented to Winston Churchill, then First Lord of the Admiralty, by British Army Lt.-Col. Ernest Swinton..

A biography of Winston Churchill states that, to disguise the device, drawings were marked "water carriers for Russia." When it was pointed out that the title might be shortened to "WCs for Russia," the drawings were relabelled "water tanks for Russia," and eventually the weapon was just called a tank..(In fact, the prototype was referred to as a water-carrier for Mesopotamia).. The Russian connection is that some of the first production Tanks were labelled in Russian "With Care to Petrograd," as a further security measure)..Crux Ansata H. G. Wells living in London under the regular bombings from across the English Channel extensively attacks Pope Pius XII and Roman Catholicism, beginning his polemic with "Why do we not bomb Rome?"..The book also forms a basic history of the Roman Catholic church and fulfils a positive propaganda role..Progressive ankylosis protein homolog is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ANKH gene.. Mirrors of beaten metal were also often made in the shape of an ankh, either for decorative reasons or to symbolize a perceived view into another world..Chariots were effective for their high speed, mobility and strength which could not be matched by infantry at the time..The best preserved examples of Egyptian chariots are the 6 specimens from the tomb of TuTANKhamun...

And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron..The word "chariot" comes from the Latin carrus, itself a loanword from Gaulish.. A chariot of war or one used in military parades was called a car..The critical invention that allowed the construction of light, horse-drawn chariots was the spoked wheel..The horse drawn wheeled vehicle probably originated in Mesopotamia about 3000 BC. The earliest depiction of vehicles in the context of warfare is on the Standard of Ur in southern Mesopotamia, c. 2500 BC..The earliest fully developed true chariots known are from the chariot burials of the Andronovo (Timber-Grave) sites of the Sintashta-Petrovka Proto-Indo-Iranian culture in modern Russia and Kazakhstan from around 2000 BC..The Hittites were renowned charioteers...The chariot and horse were introduced to Egypt by the Hyksos invaders in the 16th century BC and undoubtedly contributed to the military success of the Egyptians..The scythed chariot was a war chariot with scythe blades mounted on each side, employed in ancient times..Chariots are frequently mentioned in the Old Testament, particularly by the prophets, as instruments of war or as symbols of power or glory..Chariots figure prominently in the Rigveda, evidencing their presence in India in the 2nd millennium BC.. Among Rigvedic deities, notably Ushas (the dawn) rides in a chariot, as well as Agni in his function as a messenger between gods and men..I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots...

Bucephalus (Βουκέφαλος from βούς bous, "ox" and κεφαλή kephalē, "head" meaning "ox-head") (c. 355 BC – June 326 BC) was the horse of Alexander the Great, and one of the most famous actual horses of antiquity..In the Vikings Tarot the card depicts Thor on his chariot ride across the sky..A powerful, princely figure sits in a swift chariot, pulled usually by two sphinxes or horses.. There is often a black and white motif, for example one of the steeds may be black and the other white.. The figure may be crowned or helmeted, and is winged in some representations.. He or she may hold a sword or wand, or other masculine symbol.. The Thoth Tarot deck has the figure controlling 4 different animals, representing the 4 elements..In the Wild Wood Tarot deck, the Chariot is represented as an archer with steady eyes and an arrow nocked and ready to strike..Ancient accounts state that Bucephalus died after the Battle of the Hydaspes in 326 BC, in what is now modern Pakistan..As one of his chargers, Bucephalus served Alexander in numerous battles...

The development of tanks in World War I was a response to the stalemate that trench warfare had created on the Western Front..In Great Britain, an initial vehicle, nicknamed Little Willie, was constructed at William Foster & Co.,during August and September 1915..The prototype of a new design that would become the Mark I tank was demonstrated to the British Army on February 2, 1916..The French fielded their first tanks in April 1917 and went on to produce more tanks than all the other combatants combined..Whilst the Allies manufactured several thousand tanks during the War, Germany deployed only 20 of her own..The first tanks were mechanically unreliable.. There were problems that caused considerable attrition rates during combat deployment and transit..The conceptual roots of the tank go back to ancient times, with siege engines which were able to provide protection for troops moving up against stone walls or other fortifications...

Swinton (now Colonel) with Benjamin Holt..

From 1904 to 1909, David Roberts, the engineer and managing director of Hornsby & Sons of Grantham, built a series of tractors using his patented 'chain-track' which were put through their paces by the British Army, a (small) section of which wanted to evaluate artillery tractors..An engineer in the Austro-Hungarian Army, Lieutenant Gunther Burstyn, inspired by Holt tractors, designed a tracked armoured vehicle in 1911 carrying a light gun in a rotating turret..In 1912, A South Australian, Lancelot De Mole, submitted a proposal to the British War Office for a "chain-rail vehicle which could be easily steered and carry heavy loads over rough ground and trenches"..Before World War I, motorized vehicles were still relatively uncommon, and their use on the battlefield was initially limited, especially of heavier vehicles..

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bbTvQOiGiWI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The adoption of caterpillar tracks offered a new solution to the problem..It is sometimes mistakenly stated that after completion the tanks were shipped to France in large wooden crates..For secrecy and in order to not arouse any curiosity, the crates and the tanks themselves were then each labelled with a destination in Russian, "With Care to Petrograd"..The first fifty had been delivered to France on 30 August...

Many feel that because the British Commander Field Marshal Douglas Haig was himself a horse cavalryman, his command failed to appreciate the value of tanks..In 1919, Major General Sir Louis Jackson said: "The tank was a freak.. The circumstances which called it into existence were exceptional and not likely to recur. If they do, they can be dealt with by other means"..Army enthusiasm and haste would have its immediate drawbacks however.. As a result of the involvement of inexperienced army officers ordered to devise a new tank.. industrial initiative also led to swift advances..French production at first lagged behind the British..The first battle in which tanks made a great impact was the Battle of Cambrai in 1917. British Colonel J.F.C. Fuller, chief of staff of the Tank Corps, was responsible for the tanks' role in the battle..The German General Staff did not have enthusiasm for the tanks, but allowed the development of anti-tank weapons..The first tank-versus-tank battles took place 24 April 1918.. It was an unexpected engagement between 3 German 7Vs and 3 British Mk IVs at Villers-Bretonneux..As a military planner and later journalist, Fuller continued to develop his doctrine of using tanks supported by infantry to break through enemy lines to attack communications in the rear..Finally, in a preview of later developments, the British developed the Whippet..The Soviets, incorrectly assuming that the name of the engine was "Taylor" instead of "Tylor" called the tank the Tyeilor.. A few (perhaps 6) were exported to Japan, where they remained in service until around 1930.After the war, Whippets were sent to Ireland during the Anglo-Irish War as part of the British forces there, serving with 17th Battalion, Royal Tank Corps..A347 Firefly, The Royal Museum of the Army, Brussels..

Before World War I, the financial and business structure of the United States was dominated by two conglomerates: Standard Oil, or the Rockefeller enterprise, and the Morgan complex of industries — finance and transportation companies. Rockefeller and Morgan trust alliances dominated not only Wall Street but, through interlocking directorships, almost the entire economic fabric of the United States..

In August 1914 Europe went to war.. Under international law neutral countries (and the United States was neutral until April 1917) could not raise loans for belligerent countries.. This was a question of law as well as morality..Introduced alongside the standard duty uniform jumpsuit, a skirt or "skant"-style uniform was also available to Starfleet officers as early as 2364..It was worn by both genders - though men tended to wear the shorter boots - until it was phazed out of service in late 2365...

When the Morgan house floated war loans for Britain and France in 1915, J.P. Morgan argued that these were not war loans at all but merely a means of facilitating international trade. Such a distinction had indeed been elaborately made by President Wilson in October 1914; he explained that the sale of bonds in the U.S. for foreign governments was in effect a loan of savings to belligerent governments and did not finance a war.. On the other hand, acceptance of Treasury notes or other evidence of debt in payment for articles was only a means of facilitating trade and not of financing a war effort..

A battering ram is a siege engine originating in ancient times and designed to break open the masonry walls of fortifications or splinter their wooden gates..The introduction in the later Middle Ages of siege cannons, which harnessed the explosive power of gunpowder to propel weighty stone or iron balls against fortified obstacles, spelled the end of battering rams and other traditional siege weapons..Much smaller, hand-held versions of battering rams are still used today, however, by law enforcement officers and military personnel to bash open locked doors..Vitruvius details in his text On Architecture that Ceras the Carthaginian was the first to make a ram with a wooden base with wheels and a wooden superstructure...

The first confirmed employment of rams in the Occident happened from 503 to 502 BC when Opiter Verginius became consul of the Romans during the fight against Aurunci people..Second appeared in 427 BC, when the Spartans besieged Plataea..Some battering rams were not slung from ropes or chains, but were instead supported by rollers..Such a ram, as used by Alexander the Great, is described by the writer Vitruvius..There is a popular myth in Gloucester that the famous children's rhyme, Humpty Dumpty, is about a battering ram used in the siege of Gloucester in 1643, during the English Civil War..Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia describes a battering ram used in mining, where hard rock needed to be broken down to release the ore..Such devices were used during coal mining..The dish originated at chip shops in Scotland as a novelty item, but was never mainstream..1,200 calorie snack is so fattening it reduces the supply of blood to the brain...Difference seen within 90 minutes in men - but no big difference in women..Alternatives to the battering ram included the drill, the sapper's mouse, the pick, the siege hook, and the hunting ram...

Line Of Fire..

The Battle of Cambrai (designated Battle of Cambrai, 1917 by the Battlefield Nomenclature Committee; also sometimes referred to as the First Battle of Cambrai) was a British offensive and German counter-offensive battle in the First World War.. Cambrai, in the Nord département (Nord-Pas-de-Calais), was a key supply point for the German Siegfried Stellung (part of the Hindenburg Line) and capture of the town and the nearby Bourlon Ridge would threaten the rear of the German line to the north...

German soldiers recovering a British Marx IV tank...

The battle is sometimes described as the first use of large numbers of tanks in combat, or even as the first use of tanks at all.. Although it was the first successful combined arms operation on a large scale, the first use of tanks occurred in September 1916 at the Battle of Flers–Courcelette and the French and British armies had deployed tanks in large numbers earlier in 1917, although to considerably less effect.. Numerous developments since 1915 matured at Cambrai, such as predicted artillery fire, sound ranging, infantry infiltration tactics, infantry-tank coordination and close air support..The techniques of industrial warfare continued to develop and played a vital part during the Hundred Days Offensive in 1918, along with replacement of the Mark IV tank with improved types..

Number 106 Fuze was the first British instantaneous percussion artillery fuze, first tested in action in late 1916 and deployed in volume in early 1917..The Number 106 Fuze drew on French technology to provide a mechanism for reliably detonating a high-explosive shell instantaneously when the nose made physical contact with the slightest object like a strand of barbed wire or the ground surface..The steel hammer had a softer aluminium cap which absorbed the force of a glancing blow and prevented the spindle from bending or breaking, hence reducing the risk of missfire..He was also an occultist, a Fascist, and the inventor of "artificial moonlight"..His nickname of "Boney", which he was to retain, is said to have come either from an admiration for Napoleon Bonaparte, or from an imperious manner combined with military brilliance which resembled Napoleon's..During the First World War, Fuller was a staff officer with the Home Forces and with 7 Corps in France, and from 1916 in the Headquarters of the Machine-Gun Corps' Heavy Branch which was later to become the Tank Corps...

After the Jones vs. The Looking Glass case, in which a great deal was made of Aleister Crowley's bisexuality (although Crowley himself was not a party to the case), Fuller became worried that his association with Crowley might be a hindrance to his career. Crowley writes in chapter 67 of his book, The Confessions of Aleister Crowley:

...to my breathless amazement he fired pointblank at my head a document in which he agreed to continue his co-operation on condition that I refrain from mentioning his name in public or private under penalty of paying him a hundred pounds for each such offence. I sat down and poured in a broadside at close quarters..

"My dear man," I said in effect, "do recover your sense of proportion, to say nothing of your sense of humour. Your contribution, indeed! I can do in two days what takes you six months, and my real reason for ever printing your work at all is my friendship for you. I wanted to give you a leg up the literary ladder. I have taken endless pain to teach you the first principles of writing. As the Allies make their final push into Germany, Don "Wardaddy" Collier, a battle-hardened U.S. Army staff sergeant in the 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division, commands an M4 Sherman "Easy Eight" tank named Fury and its 5-man, all-veteran crew...The 66th Armor Regiment is the oldest armored unit in the United States Army, tracing its lineage to the beginning of the Tank Corps in February 1918 under the command of Col. George S. Patton; it was first activated in the Regular Army as the 66th Infantry Regiment (Light Tanks)..The 1st and 2nd Provisional Brigades of the United States Tank Corps would eventually go on to provide the original cadre for what would become the 66th Armored Regiment in World War II..Cabalistic influences on his theories can be evidenced by his use of the "Law of Threes" throughout his work..

The M3 Stuart, formally Light Tank M3, is an American light tank of World War II..In British service, it also had the unofficial nickname of Honey after a tank driver remarked "She's a honey".. To the United States Army, the tanks were officially known only as "Light Tank M3" and "Light Tank M5"..Internally, the radial engine was at the rear and the transmission to the driving sprockets at the front..The British Army was the first to use the Light Tank M3 as the "General Stuart" in combat..M5-To relieve the demand for the radial aero-engines used in the M3, a new version was developed using twin Cadillac V-8-Owing to its automatic transmission it also simplified crew training...

After the war, some countries chose to equip their armies with cheap and reliable war surplus Stuarts.. The Chinese Nationalist Army having suffered great attrition as a result of the ensuing civil war, rebuilt their armored forces by acquiring surplus vehicles left behind in the Philippines by the U.S. forces, including 21 M5A1s to equip 2 tank companies.. They would have their finest hours during the Battle of Kuningtou in 1949, for which the tanks came to be known as the "Bear of Kinmen" (金門之熊)..The M5 played a significant role in the First Kashmir War (1947) between India and Pakistan..In 1967, the Portuguese Army deployed 3 M5A1 Light Tanks – nicknamed "Milocas", "Licas", and "Gina" by their crews – in northern Angola..The South African Armoured Corps continued to use M3A1s in a reserve role until 55..Some were refurbished locally in 1962 and remained in service as late as 1964..The fleet was withdrawn in 68, owing to parts shortage..

It was known by the nickname Brummbär (German: "Grouch") by Allied intelligence, a name which was not used by the Germans..Brummbär does not mean "Grizzly Bear"; a literal translation would be "grumbling bear", but the term is generally used in a figurative sense.. Furthermore, German soldiers nicknamed it the "Stupa", a contraction of the term Sturmpanzer..Manufacturer Vienna Arsenal (Series I–III) Crew 5 (driver, commander, gunner, 2 loaders)..Main armament 15 cm StuH 43 L/12..Zimmerit coating was applied to all vehicles until September 44..Generally, the G-series group together a "family" of vehicles that are similar in terms of their engine, transmission, drive train and chassis, but have external differences...

The modern day Bulford Camp is 2 camps separated by Marlborough Road.. The camp on the eastern side contains Picton Barracks which since 1992 has housed the headquarters of 3rd (UK) Division and its Signals Regiment..Kiwi Barracks, where many of the streets are named after New Zealand towns, houses the 4th Battalion The Rifles as well as 3rd Regiment Royal Military Police..The camp was built as a mixture of tents and huts in 1897..The section called Sling Camp was occupied by New Zealand soldiers of the Australia New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during the First World War.. The ANZACs left their mark by creating the Bulford Kiwi, a large mural on the hillside..This was done in February and March 1919, by the Canterbury and Otago Engineers Battalions..The design was executed by Sergeant-Major Percy Cecil Blenkarne of the Education Staff from a sketch of a stuffed kiwi specimen in the British Museum.. The site was surveyed and the design extended on to the site by Sergeant-Major V.T. Low, NZE of the Education Staff..During World War II, the Kiwi was camouflaged with leaf mould, out of concerns that German bombers would use the Kiwi as a navigation marker during their raids over Britain..Very distorted views of the kiwi from the right of the hill can be seen from Woodhenge and near Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England, about 2 miles (3 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury..One of the most famous sites in the world...

The camp on the western side contains Ward Barracks which houses the HQ of 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade..The Headquarters of the Special Investigation Branch of the Royal Military Police is housed at Campion Lines which is also on the western side..The brigade HQ, with 2 battle groups – the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment and the 1st Battalion The Grenadier Guards – deployed to Afghanistan in 2007..Under Army 2020, its headquarters remains at Bulford and it forms part of the Reaction Force..During the First World War, the 12th Infantry Brigade, a regular army formation, was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division..It then spent much of the rest of the conflict engaged in trench warfare.. During the 70s, it was one of 2 "square" brigades assigned to 2nd Armoured Division...After being briefly converted to "Task Force Delta" in the late 70s, the brigade was reinstated in 81, assigned to 1st Armoured Division and based at Quebec Barracks at Osnabrück..It remained with 1st Armoured Division, apart from a spell under HQ 3rd Armoured Division during Operation Granby, until disbandment under Options for Change..In 98, the brigade was reformed in mechanized form under 3rd Mechanised Division at Aldershot Garrison..

War Crown
Khepresh, the blue crown of Egypt..

The Six-Day War (Hebrew: מלחמת ששת הימים, Milhemet Sheshet Ha Yamim; النكسة, an-Naksah, "The Setback" or حرب ۱۹٦۷, Ḥarb 1967, "War of 1967"), also known as the June War, 1967 Arab–Israeli War, or Third Arab–Israeli War, was fought between June 5 and 10, 1967 by Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt (aka the United Arab Republic), Jordan, and Syria's army had a total strength of 75,000 and amassed them along the Syrian border..100 Iraqi tanks and an infantry division were readied near the Jordanian border.. Two squadrons of fighter-aircraft, Hawker Hunters and MiG 21, were rebased adjacent to the Jordanian border..The Jordanian Armed Forces included 11 brigades totalling some 55,000 troops, equipped with some 300 modern Western tanks.. Of these, nine brigades (45,000 troops, 270 tanks, 200 artillery pieces) were deployed in the West Bank, including the elite armoured 40th, and two in the Jordan Valley..100 Iraqi tanks and an infantry division were readied near the Jordanian border.. Two squad rons of fighter-aircraft, Hawker Hunters and MiG 21, were rebased adjacent to the Jordanian border..The Arab air forces were aided by volunteer pilots from the Pakistan Air Force acting in independent capacity, and by some aircraft from Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia to make up for the massive losses suffered on the first day of the war..The Arab air forces were aided by volunteer pilots from the Pakistan Air Force acting in independent capacity, and PAF pilots shot down several Israeli planes..The central themes of this are conformity, peer pressure, and the perils of leadership...

Human chess Episode 9 Season 1 ..

The Khepresh was made from cloth or leather stained blue and was covered with small yellow sun discs..Like many other royal crowns an uraeus was fastened to its front..The earliest known mention of the khepresh is on the stela Cairo JE 59635 [CG 20799] which dates to the reign of pharaoh Neferhotep III, during the Second Intermediate Period.. In this and other examples from the same era, the word is written with a determinative that represents the cap crown, a lower and less elaborate type of crown.. Images of the khepresh from the reign of Ahmose I, first king of the New Kingdom and the Eighteenth Dynasty, show a headdress that is taller than the cap crown and more angular than later forms of the khepresh.. This crown continued to evolve during the early Eighteenth Dynasty, attaining its best-known form in the reigns of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III..After Amenhotep III's reign – and particularly during the 18th and 19th Dynasties – it came into fashion and was even adopted by some pharaohs as a primary crown..The crown ceased to be depicted in the Kushite Dynasty (747 to 656 BCE)..During the New Kingdom, pharaohs were shown with this crown in military circumstances.. However, some scholars think that the crown was also meant to evoke the divine power of the pharaoh, and was thereby worn to religiously situate kings as manifestations of gods on earth..Blue is the colour between violet and green on the optical spectrum of visible light..Egypt (aka United Arab Republic), Jordan, and Syria..2,504 Tanhks-Egypt, Syria and Iraq used T-34/85, T-54, T-55, PT-76, and SU-100/152 World War II-vintage self-propelled guns. Jordan used M-47, M-48, and M-48A1 Patton tanks.. Panzer IV (used by Syria)..Two squadrons of fighter-aircraft, Hawker Hunters and MiG 21, were rebased adjacent to the Jordanian border.. With the exception of Jordan, the Arabs relied principally on Soviet weaponry..Jordan's army was equipped with American weaponry, and its air force was composed of British aircraft..Of particular concern to the Israelis were the 30 Tu-16 "Badger" medium bombers, capable of inflicting heavy damage on Israeli military and civilian centers..

Israel IDF 800 Tanhks..M50 and M51 Shermans, M48A3 Patton, Centurion, AMX-13.. The Centurion was upgraded with the British 105 mm L7 gun prior to the war.. The Sherman also underwent extensive modifications including a larger 105mm medium velocity, French gun, redesigned turret, wider tracks, more armour, and upgraded engine and suspension..Israeli weapons were mainly of Western origin.. Its air force was composed principally of French aircraft while its armoured units were mostly of British and American design and manufacture.. Some infantry weapons, including the ubiquitous Uzi, were of Israeli origin..Israel's first and most critical move was a surprise attack on the Egyptian Air Force.. Initially, both Egypt and Israel announced that they had been attacked by the other country..On June 5 at 7:45 Israeli time, as civil defense sirens sounded all over Israel, the IAF launched Operation Focus (Moked)..Although Israeli morale and international prestige was greatly increased by the outcome of the war, the resulting displacement of civilian populations would have long-term consequences..300,000 Palestinians fled the West Bank and about 100,000 Syrians left the Golan to become refugees.. Across the Arab world, Jewish minority communities were expelled, with refugees going to Israel or EuRope..The Yomp Kippur prayer service includes several unique aspects..Total abstention from food and drink as well as keeping the other traditions begins at sundown, and ends after nightfall the following day..Before sunset on Yom Kippur eve, worshipers gather in the synagogue..A recitation of the sacrificial service of the Temple in Jerusalem traditionally features prominently in both the liturgy and the religious thought of the holiday..Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak?. Tanakh Iron Sides
Insignia of the 3rd Division..

The division is also sometimes referred to as the Iron Division, a nickname earned during the bitter fighting of 1916, during the First World War.. The division's other battle honours include: the Battle of Waterloo, the Crimean War, the 2nd Boer War, the Battle of France (1940) and D-Day landings of 6 June 1944.. It was commanded for a time, during the Second World War, by Bernard Montgomery.. The division was to have been part of a proposed Commonwealth Corps, formed for a planned invasion of Japan in 45–46, and later served in the British Mandate of Palestine..During the Second World War, the insignia became the "pattern of 3" — a black triangle trisected by an inverted red triangle, created by Bernard Montgomery to instil pride in his troops..Dunking is a form of corporal punishment..Ordeal by water was associated with the witch hunts: an accused who sank was considered innocent, while floating indicated witchcraft..Dunk Island is an island within the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia...

The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 (termed D-Day) of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II..The largest seaborne invasion in history, the operation began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front..Planning for the operation began in 1943.. In the months leading up to the invasion, the Allies conducted a substantial military deception, codenamed Operation Bodyguard, to mislead the Germans as to the date and location of the main Allied landings..Between 27 May and 4 June 1940, over 338,000 troops of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) and the French Army, trapped along the northern coast of France, were evacuated in the DunKirk evacuation..

Surgery (from the Greek: χειρουργική cheirourgikē (composed of χείρ, "hand", and ἔργον, "work"), via Latin: chirurgiae, meaning "hand work") is an ancient medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a patient to investigate and/or treat a pathological condition such as disease or injury, to help improve bodily function or appearance or to repair unwanted ruptured areas (for example, a perforated ear drum)..An act of performing surgery may be called a surgical procedure, operation, or simply surgery.. In this context, the verb operate means to perform surgery. The adjective surgical means pertaining to surgery; e.g. surgical instruments or surgical nurse..Cosmetic surgery is done to improve the appearance of an otherwise normal structure..By type of procedure: Amputation involves cutting off a body part, usually a limb or digit; castration is also an example..Excision surgery names often start with a name for the organ to be excised (cut out) and end in -ectomy..Reconstruction, plastic or cosmetic surgery of a body part starts with a name for the body part to be reconstructed and ends in -oplasty.. Rhino is used as a prefix for "nose", therefore a rhinoplasty is for the nose..Some medical systems have a practice of routinely performing chest x-rays before surgery..In total, there were over 15 million operating room procedures performed in U.S. hospitals in 2011..Robotic surgery makes use of a surgical robot, such as the Da Vinci or the Zeus surgical systems, to control the instrumentation under the direction of the surgeon..

The Tanakh ( Hebrew: תַּנַ"ךְ‎,also Tenakh, Tenak, Tanach) or Mikra is the canon of the Hebrew Bible.. The traditional Hebrew text is known as the Masoretic Text..There is no scholarly consensus as to when the Hebrew Bible canon was fixed: some scholars argue that it was fixed by the Hasmonean dynasty, while others argue it was not fixed until the second century CE or even later..Formal closure of the canon has often been ascribed to Rabbinic Judaism after the destruction of the First Temple in 587 BCE..The Tanakh consists of 24 books..The Torah (תּוֹרָה, literally "teaching") consists of 5 books, commonly referred to as the "5 Books of Moses"..Nevi'im (Hebrew: נְבִיאִים Nəḇî'îm‎, "Prophets") is the second main division of the Tanakh, between the Torah and Ketuvim (כְּתוּבִים, "Writings") consists of 11 books..The 5 relatively short books of the Song of Songs, the Book of Ruth, the Book of Lamentations, Ecclesiastes and the Book of Esther are collectively known as the Hamesh Megillot (5 Megillot)..they are read in the synagogue on holidays, beginning with the Song of Solomon on Passover..Ritter (German for "knight") is a designation used as a title of nobility in German-speaking areas...

H in Ireland and parts of Australia is the 8th letter of the latin alphabet..The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language derives it from French hache from Latin haca or hic..Anatoly Liberman suggests a conflation of two obsolete orderings of the alphabet, one with H immediately followed by K and the other without any K..The perceived name of the letter affects the choice of indefinite article before initialisms beginning with H: for example "an H-bomb" or "a H-bomb"..The chemical symbol of hydrogen is H..A cube has 8 vertices..The modern 8 glyph, like all modern Hindu-Arabic numerals (other than zero) originates with the Brahmi numerals..In nuclear physics, the second magic number...The 8-spotted forester (genus Alypia, family Zygaenidae) is a diurnal moth having black wings with brilliant white spots..The atomic number of oxygen..The number of allotropes of carbon..All spiders, and more generally all arachnids, have 8 legs.. Iron Sliders
1st Armored Division distinctive unit insignia..

The division was nicknamed "Old Ironsides", by its first commander, Major General Bruce R. Magruder, after he saw a picture of the frigate USS Constitution, which is also nicknamed "Old Ironsides".. The large "1" at the top represents the numerical designation of the division, and the insignia is used as a basis for most other sub-unit insignias..In January, 1918, the Tank Corps of the US Army was created with Colonel S.D. Rockenback as its chief. At his direction, a Lt. Wharton designed the original coat of arms which was a triangle on a shield with a surrounding wreath and a dragon in silver..The triangle itself is an old heraldic element of armorial design known as a pile (the head of a spear)...

The Liberation Through Hearing
Magick & Mysteron..

Milarepa's Cave or Namkading Cave is a cave where the great Tibetan Buddhist philosopher, and Vajrayana Mahasiddha, Milarepa (c. 1052—c. 1135 CE), spent many years of his life in the 11th century, 11 km north of the town of Nyalam, below the roadside and above the Matsang river in Nyalam County, Tibet, China..There is also a cave associated with Milarepa in Nepal on the Annapurna Circuit at approximately 4000m just outside Manang.. It is credited to have been the residence of the famous Saint Milarepa during his stay in modern-day northern Nepal.. This site also includes a holy spring, gompa, and bow from the local archer who met and tried to kill Milarepa..In the classical songs of Milarepa, he sings of a deer, a dog and a hunter, the chain of causation and compassion.. In local tradition this is the site of this famous tale..

S?rat al-Kahf ("The Cave") is the 18th surah of the Qur'an with 110 ayat.. It is a Meccan sura..The third main story within the chapter (verses 60–82) is that of Moses traveling to gain knowledge from another servant of God who is never mentioned by name, but according to the tafsir of ibn Kathir is called Al-Khidr..The rabbis told the men to ask Muhammad 3 questions..According to Ibn Ishaq, when Muhammad was informed of the 3 questions from the rabbis, he said that he would have the answers in the morning but did not say "if God wills it".. For 15 days, Muhammad awaited eagerly for the revelation..Whoever reads Sura Kahf on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays.. Mohammed said he had his vision near the cave where he used to go.. Caves and dark places constantly recur in stories of religious superstars...

Thankhs for that info lightgiver.

The 'h' is silent. The 'T' in 'tank' is a cross not unlike the 'ankh' itself.

Tom Hanks is Jesus in Forest Gump. Yes it is about Jesus.

Hank in Brea king bad is the one who is in the middle of God (Skyler) and Satan (Walt). Don't make me go into it.

Princes symbol is a stylised Christian Ankh.

Tanks does not have an H in it. And ankh doesn't have a T.

Tanks was a nickname to hide the purpose of the new vehicles that were going to the battlefield, because they were disguised as storage tanks!

Cant see how you can possibly make link between the two

The water tank got its name from the ankh. Water is vital to life. The Ankh is a symbol of life.
Water tanks holding life serving water, Bat EL tanks serving death.

I think it may be a symbol of "neutrality". That which goes in between positive and negative.
