Masonic Orders of Fraternity by Manly Hall

From Masonic Orders of Fraternity by Manly P. Hall:
"The direct descent of the essential program of the Esoteric schools was entrusted to groups already well-conditioned for the work... A World Fraternity was needed, sustained by a deep and broad program of education according to the "method." Such a Fraternity could not immediately include all men, but it could unite the activities of certain kinds of men, regardless of their racial or religious beliefs or the nations in which they dwelt. There were the men of "towardness," those sons of tomorrow, whose symbol was a blazing sun rising over the mountains of the east." - p. 5.

"The Invisible Empire, integrated and ensouled by Bacon and his so-called literary group, was the archetype of those democratic Societies which directly and indirectly precipitated the era of revolution. Thus the way was cleared for the first great experiments in practical self-government." - p. 5

"The most obvious clues to the secret activity have been the prevailing silence about the origin and the impossibility of filling the lacunae in the records of 17th- and 18th-century fraternal orders." - p. 6.

"In spite of every adversity and impediment, the advance of the human estate was inevitable. It was, indeed, the way of heaven unfolding in the sphere of human society through the machinery of the Mysteries and their adepts." - p. 7.

"During the formative period of Colonial growth, numerous Baconian landmarks were set up as monuments to the enterprise. Even through the Revolutionary period, American patriots worked hand in hand with members of English and European Secret Societies. It may require an extensive research to reveal the details of the well-laid plan, but the general workings of the design are reasonably obvious." - p. 7.

"The Masonic Orders of Fraternity acted as media for the dissemination of the high doctrines of liberty, equality, and fraternity. They supported, with the private means and their moral strength, those patriots fighting for liberty in Colonial America." - p. 8.

"Christopher Frederick Nicolai summarizes the aim and purpose of the Society of Astrologers thus: "Its object was to build the House of Solomon, of the New Atlantis, in the literal sense, but the establishment was to remain as secret as the island of Bensalem..." - p. 27.

"There are numerous accounts indicating the astrologers and alchemists developed a sudden and remarkable interest in Freemasonry. The Lodges became so crowded with intellectuals that as early as 1646 there were Masonic meetings in London without even one stonemason being present." - p. 32.

"General Pike, describing this device, writes that the compass "as the symbol of the Heavens, represents the spiritual, intellectual, and moral portion of this double nature of Humanity; and the square, as the symbol of the Earth, its material, sensual, and baser portion.".. The arrangement indicates that the compass takes the place of the sun, and the square substitutes for the moon. The union of these two instruments in three positions, in the three degrees of the blue Lodge, therefore equal of stand for the Hermetic marriage of the sun and moon." - p. 33.

"One of the principal symbols of Bacon's secret association of poets was the winged horse, Pegasus." - p. 42.

"While living in Gray's Inn, Bacon was a member of the Inner Temple, which was associated with the site of an ancient mansion of the Knights Templars. The winged horse, Pegasus, was the symbolic device of the Inner Temple, and a huge painting of the mythological creature adorned the wall of the principal room..." - 42-3.

"We have already mentioned that the numerical equivalent of the letters b ,a, c, o, n is the Masonically significant equivalent of the number 33 - the degrees of the Ancient and Acepted Scottish Rite. The letters A. U. M., believed to stand for the words Artifex Universus Mundi (The Great Architect of the World), by the same numerical cipher also give the sum 33. Thus A. U. M. is a cabala for Bacon." - p. 44.

"...that a Masonic authority like James Hughan declared that 'the New Atlantis seems to be, and probably is, the KEY to the modern Rituals of Freemasonry'. . . we can begin to see clearly the light shining in the darkness of Francis Bacon's early 'Silent Years.'" - p. 50-1.

"The prestige and wealth accumulated by Secret Societies have sometimes been used as political weapons. This often happened even without the knowledge or consent of the membership. Groups, supposedly seeking only universal wisdom, conspired against the State, unseated rulers, and went so far as to sponsor anarchy." - p. 58.

From Masonic Orders of Fraternity by Manly P. Hall:
"The central concept of Saint-Martin's mystical philosophy is that man remains divine in spite of the "fall" reported in the Scriptures. Within the human being lies dormant a high spiritual quality of which man is not always conscious, and which he must develop or release by freeing himself from the illusion of materialism." - p. 62.

"The Templars returned to Europe after the Crusades, bringing with them a number of choice fragments of Oriental occult lore, some of which they had gathered from the Druses of Lebanon, and some for the disciples of Hasan Ibn-al-Sabbah, the old wizard of Mount Alamut." - p. 78-9.

"Weishaupt emerged as a faithful servant of a higher cause. Behind him moved the intricate machinery of the Secret Schools. As usual, they did not trust their full weight to any perishable institution. The physical history of the Bavarian Illuminati extended over a period of only twelve years. It is difficult to understand, therefore, the profound stir which this movement caused in the political life of Europe. We are forced to the realization that this Bavarian group was only one fragment of a large and composite design." - p. 79.

"Is it not equally possible that a powerful group of men, resolved to remain entirely unknown, moved behind Weishaupt and pushed him forward as a screen for its own activities?
"The ideals of Illuminism, as they are found in the pagan Mysteries of antiquity, were old when Weishaupt was born, and it is unlikely that these long-cherished convictions perished with his Bavarian experiment. The work that was unfinished in 1785 remains unfinished in 1950. Esoteric Orders will not become extinct until the purpose which brought them into being has been fulfilled. Organizations may perish, but the Great School is indestructible." - p. 79-80.

"...Aster, a star or sun." - p. 98.

The day will come when that which has been taught under oath and obligation shall belong equally and freely to all men, bot because it has been brought down to them, but because they themselves have been raised up by vision and experience and have claimed their eternal heritage." - p. 112.

From Words to the Wise by Manly P. Hall:
"The instituted Mysteries of antiquity possessed an unbroken metaphysical tradition that had descended through a long line of hierophants from the dim beginnings to time. The merit of these systems can best be inferred from the high order of men and women who testified to the sublimity of the teaching. Pythagorus, Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch, Proclus, Cicero, Plotinus, Hypatis, Phidias, Hippocrates, and a host of others acknowledged the supremacy of the instituted Mysteries of the Greeks or Romans. Minds of this quality are not easily deluded by superficial doctrines." - p. 22-3.

"The means by which these miracles are accomplished include fancy breathing, assorted types of affirmations, "radiant thinking," the stimulation of the subconscious mind, raising the Kundalini, opening the third eye, and "going into the silence."" - p. 26-7.

"Esoteric secrets are never divulged by the ancient Mysteries or any of their emissaries to any student without a period of from five to ten years of probation." - p. 27.

"The Egyptians worshiped Nature in the form of the goddess Isis. They represented her as concealed by numerous veils, her body adorned with curious hieroglyphs. To the Greeks she was Kore or Ceres, the mother of the Eleusinian Mysteries. She was the Mysterious Diana of the Ephesians. To Christendom she is Mary, the Virgin Mother of the Messianic Incarnation. Always she is the source of that moral nutriment by which the well-being of the human soul is assured." - p 34.

"Existence is divided into cycles and sub-cycles measured by the recurrences of certain celestial phenomena. Neptune as a very slow-moving planet, requiring a great length of time to complete its revolution, became emblematic of the standard of all cyclic and periodic return. As the ancients expressed it, "All things have beginnings, mid-most states, and ends." Also, all ends are beginnings, and all beginnings are ends. In India, the cosmic cycles of time, in which worlds, continents, races and empires rise and fall, are termed kalpas and yugas. By the Greeks, they are termed Ages. The whole creative process is supported upon a frame work of inconceivable time and duration factors." - p. 37.

"Every intemperance inclines toward an opposite intemperance. Existence is a vast ever-swinging pendulum moving backward and forward with the ebb and flow of the cosmic tide." - p. 37

"Saturn: Cause and Effect. In the Mysteries, Chronos or Saturn was regarded as the cruelest and most unforgiving of divinities, devourer of his own children. He represents the immutability of the cosmic plan, and in no way is this immutability more evident than in the law of cause and effect, from which there can be no deviation of any kind - a law without exception, compromise or modification. "As ye sow, so shall ye reap," says the Christian Scripture. "Effect follows cause as the wheel of the cart follows the foot of the oxen," says the Buddhist Canon. Yet this law, though apparently so severe, is in reality the most kindly and just of edicts, for it insures that in good, as well as in evil, that which a man earns shall inevitable come to him." - p. 37-8.

"Races are the rung levels on the ladder of evolution, and each race is divided into sub-races which represent quality levels within the racial structure itself. No two types of clans or communities in the world today are on precisely the same level of evolution." - p. 69.

"There are a number of groups of the millennial type, who look forward to the establishment of heaven upon earth and a Golden Age in which perfection will reign forever in the mundane sphere. Exoterically, speaking, the Zoroastrians are representative of this group." - p. 83.

"The word ILLUMINATION was first used by the early Christians to signify baptism by the spirit. In the Middle Ages, a sect called the Illuminati sprang up, and it is from the traditions of this Order that the Illuminist doctrines of today have their origin. The principal doctrine of Illuminism is that man can be wholly possessed by the light of truth. We may therefore create a metaphysical definition for illumination in terms of mystical Christianity: When the grace of universal truth comes to any man and abides with him, that man is illuminated." - p. 105.

"Albert Pike revised the higher degrees of Freemasonry, restoring a considerable part of the occult tradition concealed for centuries in the symbolism." - p. 122.

That's how he presented himself. However (and M. P. Hall couldn't possibly know this), Weishaupt had essentially made it all up in order to satisfy his disciples' appetite for secret knowledge. Watch this talk (beginning at around 29 minutes into the clip) to get an idea of what he did.

Interesting video. Nice to see some stuff from the academic side sometimes. I didnt hear too much new information about Weishaupt, though. I know academics would probably disagree with Manly P. Hall, but then they dont seem to know enough about occult secrets.

There were a few funny things about the video. I liked how a couple people in the crowd got up at the end and told them how wrong they were about certain things, like the Nazis' killing of Masons. Also, it was a little strange that one of the papers partly concluded that the alleged lack of new Masons may indicate that the Nazis had won in this respect.

Also funny was that the symbols behind them have Masonic significance:

http://i.imgur.com/gTf6UYjm.png http://i.imgur.com/H7sOxdO.gif The Pythagorean Theorem, or the 47th Problem of Euclid, is used in Masonic symbolism. The second I would call the flame of enlightenment, which can be most prominently seen on the Masonic Statue of Liberty.

I would have some respect for the academics if they talked about the occult meaning of Masonry and how it relates to the events of history. Nazism was an occult venture. The interplay of the occult ideologies behind Nazism, Masonry, and Israel deserves great interest from academics, imo. I didnt hear any discussion of that here, and I havent heard it elsewhere, really. If you know a good academic treatment of the real occult meaning behind Nazism, let me know.

'Nazism' is a fiction, there never was such a thing. Hitler himself was completely opposed to all strands of esotericism.

Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke wrote two decent books on folkish esotericism in Germany.

I dont agree with this. Theosophists use the swastika. Hitler kept a copy of The Secret Doctrine by or on his nightstand, from what I've read.

This guy's books are complete garbage. I read two of them. If you are going to call your book Black Sun, you should have some idea of what the black sun is. If I remember correctly, he lumps conspiracy theorists in with Neo-Nazi types.

So why did he tolerate Himmlers wacky ideas? he may not have been into that stuff but he tolerated other people who were. There is plenty of evidence for Himmlers esoteric projects.

Himmler was indispensible for Hitler as an organiser, especially after 1934.

From The Origin and Evolution of Religion by Freemason Dr. Albert Churchward:
"In the beginning was the void, otherwise designated the Abyss. From our sun, this earth, and other planets forming our Solar System have been thrown off as super-heated vapour, gradually cooling down, ever revolving on their own axis around our Sun, in their allotted space and time. Our sun was thrown off from another sun, around which it revolves, taking 25,827 years to perform its cycle of one year. "The one Great Year of the Egyptians." (They have left records of ten great cycles at least.)" - p. 51-2.

"In the Astronomical phase, the visible birthplace of Spirits perfected is localized in Sothis. The opened of the year and the bringer of the babe to birth on the horizon, or the Mount of Glory..." - p. 96.

"The submergence of the seven Pole Stars, as each one gave place to the next in the cycle of procession, involves the same number of "deluges," which culminated in "The Great Deluge of All," when the seventh had finished its cycle; not the destruction of the world, but to recommence the cycle again. This is the reason why you find in all lands and amongst all people where the Stellar Cult traveled, the story of the deluge. The deluge of this world was a myth founded on the above by people not knowing Sign Language." - p. 110.

"The time taken for the procession, or rather recession, of the Pole Stars is 25,827 years. It was called one Great Year or one Great Day." - p. 111.

"The Stellar Cult Egyptians commemorated the birthday of the world, that is of the age, the cycle, the beginning of time, when Horus rose up in the Papyrus from the waters - that was the birthday of Horus of the inundation." - p. 124.

"...the so-called Swastika of which there are many forms. It represents the four divisions of heaven, also the four brothers of Horus." - p. 126.

"This was the origin of the Swastika (a Sacred Symbol used through various Cults) and proves that this Sacred Symbol represents the Four Quarters." - p. 129.

"In the Great Year of precession there are seven stations of the celestial pole. The pole changes, and its position is approximately determined by another central Star about each 3,689 year." - p. 139.

"The serpent surrounds the circle of signs with its tail in its mouth, the total image of a cycle." - p. 144.

"Thus the destruction of the human race was founded upon the astronomical base. All the previous deluges were the destruction of the totemic tortoises, jackals, vultures, swans and apes, crocodiles and hippopotami, that is when on or other of the pole stars representing one of these zootypes submerged and gave place to the next in precession; but the seventh and last represented "the Man," so all these men were mythically destroyed when the submergence of this Pole Star took place: to recommence again another Great Year." - p. 150.

"There are records extant left by the Stellar Cult people of ten great years..." - p. 151.

"Thus the seven periods in precession correspond to seven stations of the Pole." - p. 152.

"Khnmu was the name of Horus of the inundation in this Cult, and the child was now depicted as being brought forth by Hathor in Sothis, as the Star of the Annunciation." - p. 194.

"This descent in search of the vanished water, the lost light, the disappearing child, was made by the goddess in her Lunar character. It was as the Moon that Ishtar passed through seven gates on her downward way when she was stripped of all her glory... The descent of Ishtar is dated in the Aramaic-Akkadian Calendar by the month Ki-Ginger-na, the errand of Ishtar, which was dedicated to the goddess with "Virgo" as it zodiacal sign.
This is the Egyptian Hathor and Horus. As Mother-Moon she fetched light and the water of life from the lower regions, and gave rebirth to vegetation in the upper world." - p. 194.

"Nubti, in this Cult, represented the dual Goddess - the Sun combined with Sothis - a known figure." - p. 218.

"The word Amen...means "what is hidden," what is not seen," "what cannot be seen." The hymns to Amen often state that he is "hidden to his children, "hidden to the gods and men." Not only is the god himself said to be "hidden," but his name also is "hidden," and his form is said to be unknown. This shows that it was not in reference to the hidden Sun that these terms were applied but to the "Great Hidden God in Amenta," "The Eternal God."
"...Amen in Amenta is the hidden soul of life that was imaged by the nocturnal sun. He is the supreme power who dwells in darkness and caused the Principles to arive...
"Amen...was the only deity in all Egypt who was expressly worshipped by the title of "Ankhu," or the ever-living one eternal God. This is he who is reproduced by name in Revelation, saying: "I am the first and the last, I am he that liveth and was dead, I am alive for evermore" (Rev. i. 17, 18)." - pp. 254-5.

"This soul, divided into the two halves of sex, was united again in establishing an eternal soul." - p. 264.

"...the circumpolar paradise of the Pole where the Jackal or the Dog was the guide of the ways." - p. 267.

"The passage of the all-conquering Sun is followed by the soul of the deceased." - p. 275.

From The Origin and Evolution of Religion by Freemason Dr. Albert Churchward:
"The Jews strictly are of the Tribe, or Totemic Clan of Judah. The Israelites and not Jews, although some Jews may be Israelites." - p. 291.

"They were originally meant to designate, not persons, but epochs." - p. 295. Talking about the Patriarchs of the Bible.

"The drama appears as tremendous in the Book of Revelation, because the period ending is on the scale of one Great Year. It is not the ending of the world, but of a great year of the world. The great judgment of all, like the great "deluge of all," was held at the end of the great year of all, in the Cycle of Precession." - p. 313.

"As the Astronomical or Stellar Cult proves, the primary seven marked out one Great Year at least in the cycle of precession before they could become those Lords of Eternity at the North Celestial Pole, represented by the group of the seven non-setting stars, or the stars that never set, and records prove at least ten such cycles of time were marked out and recorded by the old Urshi." - p. 317.

"In the peculiar system of Buddhism existing in Thibet it is said: "He who does not know the first Buddha knows not the circle of time." - p. 332.

"The incarnations of Buddha were dated astronomically. His coming was indicated by the Messianic Star of Announcement, or prophetic Star of an incarnation, and the birthplace is known by astronomical signs. It belongs to the cycles of time, the ends of which were foreknown and prophesied from the beginning.
"The last of the Buddhas, who is designated "All the Buddhas," is called, like the gnostic Christ, "All things," or Totum; he was the final flower of the whole pleroma perfected, and is described as having advanced hitherward by "making seven steps" towards each of the four cardinal points of the zodiac. Therefore he had travelled the circle measured by the twenty-eight lunar asterisms. This, as we have seen, was the course of the seven Rishis and the seven Manus (who are also known as the seven Buddhas) in fulfilling the cycle and following the path of precession. They are represented as voyaging round in the Ark that makes the circle and the cycle of the Great Year, and Buddha is the manifestor of the pleroma of seven primary forces, faculties, spirits, or gods, which is shown by his symbol of the eight-rayed star, the sign of Assur in Assyria and of the Christ in Rome, and the original Horus in Egypt." - p. 334.

"...in the seventh stage of precession the true Buddha, the Prince, the Rishi of Manu, was reborn, and his birth was indicated by the stationary star that showed the new position of the changing Pole.
"In the Hindu astronomy, where the group of manes travel round the zodiac, the seventh is a divine man, or a Buddha. The seventh Buddha is always the man who is held to be divine.
"...the true Buddha, who could become no more historical than the Christ of the gnosis." - p. 339.

"The seventh Buddha that comes once in a phoenix cycle of 500 years is the divine man who can only be repeated as an astronomical figure - a measurer for the eternal in the cycle of time." - p. 340

"...the cycle of precession must have been marked down and recorded for at least over 50,000 years before the could form this uranographic picture.
"Thus we see that the seven Manu of the Hindu are indenitcal with the seven Elohim of the Hebrews and the Babylonians, and the Egyptian originals." - p. 340.

"In all versions of the seven creations, the creation of man was last; and this is repeated in the seven stations of the celestial heptanomis, because the first seven "ending of times" were totemic, or of zootype forms, and therefore pre-human man had not been imaged until the compounding of the seven into one, which in the Egyptian was the eighth. How many cycle of 25,827 years had elapsed before the one when man was "created" is impossible to calculate. It may have been observed through seven cycles first, and as we know that the Stellar Cult was in existence 600,000 years ago, it is possible that the date would be about 800,000 years ago, when the old Stellar Cult people commenced to reckon time by the observing and recording the precession of the Pole Stars. Man must have been in existence 2,000,000 years before that to attain the evolution that we find. Two cycles of 25,827 years at least must have been observed and recorded before the old Urshi could formulate and blend all the powers of the divinized totemic souls into one of "Man." - p. 343.

"...this symbol http://i.imgur.com/RwzLlDVs.png with or without the circle, is a Sign of Horus of the Double Horizon..." - pp. 347-8.

"There was never any one Great Deluge as in the Biblical rendering. There were seven deluges - one at the change of each Pole Star, when it fell down in the Celestial waters and another took its place, once in about every 3,600 years, and one Great Deluge at the end of 25,827 years, when the seventh Pole Star fell and was drowned in the waters of space - all to recommence again. Also at least ten Great Deluges have taken place at each glacial epoch, when the snow and ice have melted." - p. 353.

"...the Cross being a figure of the fourfold foundation on which heaven itself was built." - p. 362.

"The child Jesus in Egypt is the child Horus in Egypt. Jesus is described in "Pistis Sophia" as passing through the twelve signs of the Zodiac, all mentioned by name - the Ram, Bull, Twins, Crab, Lion, Balance, Scorpion, Bowman, Goat, and Waterer..." - p. 373. The lead character in 2001: A Space Oyssey is named Bowman.

"...the perfect fulfillment as it was portrayed in Horus the glorified, whose second coming in Tattu as representative of Ra the Holy Spirit and the power of resurrection is perfectly described by St. Paul." - p. 381.

"The gnostic Jesus represents the double Horus, human and divine..." - p. 382.

"The glorifying was by descent of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that was given to Horus and by Him to the disciples in the mystery of Tattu upon the resurrection day, when the God in Heaven called to the mummy Osiris in Amenta, "Come thou to Me," when the two halves of the soul in matter, was transformed to rise again as Horus divinized. This was in the resurrection after death, in baptismal regeneration, or in the Christifying of the Osiris Mummy." - p. 393.

"The Star, as announcer of the child Horus=The Star in the East that indicated the birthplace of Jesus." - p. 398.

"Horus of the two horizons=Jesus of the two lands" - p. 398.

"The crocodile as the great Mother=The dragon as the great Mother." - p. 398.

"The next point he noted was that as the seasons of new life came round, so certain groups of stars always appeared in the same place in the heavens, and he then formed a "picture gallery of the stars," each picture representing either one of the elemental powers, or a cycle of a Saviour, as applied to life, not necessarily human at first, but becoming so afterwards." - p. 405.

"Death is but a temporary sleep:
An interruption, not an end of existence.
In a future we shall live again..." - p. 409.

This book is by the husband of Alice Bailey, and I think a lot of Masons would say this information is the author's own interpretation and does not agree with the ideas of most Masons. Still, there is some interesting stuff in this book, and it is recommended reading on at least one Masonic site.

The Spirit of Masonry by 32°(?) Freemason Foster Bailey:
"Masonry is the descendant of, or is founded upon, a divinely imparted religion which long antedates the prime date of creation as given in our Bible. Masonry and its allegorical rituals, and its symbols and numbers, is all the remains to us of the first world religion which flourished in an antiquity so old that it is impossible to affix a date. It was the first unified world religion. Then came the era of separation of many religions, and of sectarianism. Today we are working again towards a world universal religion...
"...[Man] is a son of light, a son of the Father and therefore immortal. He is the heir of the ages, inherently a Son of Light, yet wandering in the darkness. Eventually, he will find his way back from whence he came... Belief in God and belief in immortality - this is the theme and creed of Masonry and to them, all its symbols, its rituals and its secrets bear witness." - p. 29.

"What is the significance lying behind this constantly recurring number [12]?Simply a reference to the journey of the sun (the symbol of Deity) around the heavens passing regularly through the twelve signs of the Zodiac in the course of his annual journey of twelve months or his greater cycle recurring approximately every twenty-five thousand years. This is the basic truth which appears again and again in the Masonic rituals." - p. 31.

"Your attention is called here to the esoteric significance of the two pillars, B.... and J...., when considered in connection with this zodiacal journey. Placed side by side in position these two pillars form the symbol used in astrology to denote the sign Gemini, and study of their meaning in the connection reveals perhaps more clearly than anything else the underlying subject of Masonry. It may also indicate the origin, or the time of the origin, of so-called historical Masonry. Whether this origin goes back to 7,000 B.C. when the sun was in the sign Gemini, or whether we must go still further back to that distant when a great zodiacal cycle of 25,000 years started in that sign, it is useless for us to conjecture as there is no means of providing proof. It is possible also to refer the matter back to a still more distant date. The two pillars, B.... and J...., indicate not only a date (known to the initiates of old but hidden from us today who needs must walk by faith and not by sight) but they also indicate the founding of the reality, the true religion of mankind. That religion was established in strength and its vitality has been such that today, thousands of years later, it still persists. The two pillars were chosen by the ancient builders and placed in every temple to remind the brethren of that ancient zodiacal symbol of the sign Gemini in which, perhaps, the human search for light started.
"In this sign, Gemini, the duality of man is symbolised by the Twins. Man - good and bad in his own nature, coming forth from darkness and seeking light; man - composed of two aspects or natures, for the first man 'is of the earth, earth, and the second man is the Lord from Heaven'; man - the son of the Widow, but also the son of light. God and man conjoined - the two brothers, Castor and Pollux, shining forth together and signifying mortality and immortality. Curiously enough, today the light of the 'immortal' brother is gaining in brilliance, thus reminding us of the word of the Holy Saint John when he said "He must increase, but I must decrease."" - pp. 32-3.

"Scientists hint at two races which preceded ours, and give them names - the Lemurian civilization and the Atlantean civilisation. Ancient Lemuria saw the first human being walk on earth. He was little more than an animal, blind to all the true values of life, and understanding nothing." - p. 33.

"Later the Atlantean civilisation succeeds and the race of men reach a point where they can begin to 'subdue their passions' and those those arts and sciences which will raise winding stairs...which lead to the Middle Chamber where their achievements as Craftsmen can be recognised and rewarded.
"Today in our Aryan race, humanity, having sought for light and received a measure of illumination, having passed through the hall of learning and climbed the difficult ascent of knowledge, is now ready for a further revelation." - p. 34.

"E.A. degree....Lemuria....From blindness to light....the search for light.
"F.C. degree....Atlantis....From ignorance to knowledge....the search for knowledge.
"M.M. degree..Aryan...From death to life...the search for the Master's Word." - p. 34.

"The substitute word permits him to work as a M.M., but the Lost Word still eludes him and will continue to do so until such time when humanity as a whole, through its resurrected individuals, find that Word together." - p. 35.

"If people but studied the significance of the Jewish race they might comprehend more clearly and sympathetically their purpose and destiny. They are the symbol of the race of men as a whole. They are the eternal wanderers, as is the individual man. Everywhere they search for that which they have lost..." - p. 42.

"In the time of the Buddha wherein wisdom was stressed and the thought of the material building of the Temple was balanced by the emphasis laid upon the end of the search, and the entering of the true Temple, called in Buddhism, entering the state of Nirvana." - p. 44.

"...the foundation for the building of that Temple of the Lord which will be the glory of the New Age and for which all the past has prepared us." - p. 46.

"...the Three Temples, spoken of in the Bible... These three are the The Tabernacle in the wilderness, the Temple of Solomon, and the Temple of Ezekiel, of which latter we have only the description. These three can be understood in terms of the racial unfoldment of mankind." - p. 46.

"...it is possible that in the coming Masonic work, when the new age dawns and another race emerges in the great and mystic chain of races, that a third pillar will stand erect. Thus beauty will be restored in the Temple and the work of the Builders move forward to another stage of completion." - p. 49.

"[The two pillars] are of course...symbolic of the dualities of manifestation, of the pairs of opposites and of the two poles of spirit and matter, Life and form... Again they may stand for the dual forces of the universe, dynamic and static energy..." - p. 49.

"Masonry can be regarded as epitomising the past, indicating the way and destiny of man in the present and foretelling his ultimate perfection." - p. 49.

"Is it not apparent that the keynotes and objectives of the three degrees - illumination through the search for light, wisdom through the achieving of knowledge, and immortality through the process of resurrection - embody the whole story of the evolution of humanity, which is, in the last analysis, the story of the evolution of consciousness?" - p. 53.

"The age of vision and of understanding is upon us. Hence the opportunity at the present time (as we pass into the new or Aquarian Age) to see Masonry as it essentially is, and to carry forward the Masonic work in such a manner that the empty symbol may become al iving form, the dead letter may reveal the vital spirit and the outer form of the Temple will be seen to be simply the shrine of light." - p. 55.

"Centuries passed away; the Jewish dispensation came to an end, and the Christian dispensation began with the passing of our sun into the sign of Pisces, the Fishes. Then the fish symbology of the Gospel story appears; the early Christians used the sign of Pisces constantly, even on their tombs, and we still eat fish on Good Friday, in memory of the great sacrifice of a triumphing Son of God. Today, according to the astronomers, we are passing rapidly into another sign, the sign Aquarius. Old things are being washed away, and Aquarius, the Water-carrier, is inaugurating the age of water upon earth with its consequent sanitation, its water navigation, its cleanliness, purification and hydrotherapy." - p. 67-8.

From The Spirit of Masonry by 32°(?) Freemason Foster Bailey:
"The modern Mason is the heir of the ages; he is the custodian of the truth which humanity needs; in his hands lies the solution of the pain and sorrow and misunderstanding present in the world today." - p. 71.

"When too, he learns to recognise that he is himself the S..e, the cube, and the lower quaternary which must be irradiated by the light of the higher triplicity, the soul, then he can know himself to be indeed a stone in the Temple." - p. 76.

"In these words is defined the major task of Masonry, as it proceeds, in the coming New Age, to link 'that which is within, with that which is without', and to bridge the world of the tangible and known with that of the intangible and invisible realities." - p. 81.

"1. Let that which is below be as that which is above.
2. There is a pattern, laid down in the Heavens, to which humanity must eventually conform." - p. 83.

"The quaternary may be regarded as symbolising the four kingdoms in nature, which find their synthesis and their fulfillment in the human kingdom. The function of this quaternary or cube is to express the qualities of divinity. Man, the cube may be seen therefore in his fourfold nature (physical, vital, emotional and mental) and his endeavor is to reveal the inner spiritual self, of which the higher triplicity of aspects - will or power, love or wisdom, and spiritual intelligence - are the qualities." - p. 88.

"As the human consciousness steadily unfolds..." - p. 89.

"The rituals therefore serve a dual purpose... They will serve also as the agent through which the inner nature of the candidate can be aroused and stimulated to such a degree that he can make his grade, gain that added impulse and impetus which will carry him through his tests, enable him to pass from point to point, place to place, and pedestal to pedestal (all synonym for centres of power) within the Temple of light in a definite and ordered progress." - p. 96. Talking about chakras?

"The fourth law, the Law of the the Builders, will bring in that energy which will initiate the methods of work in the coming New Age." - p. 99.

"The time for the true Masonic recognition on a large scale is still distant." - p. 99.

"One of these Holy Saints John preceded, or was the forerunner of, the son of God; he embodied in himself the third aspect of divinity, that which concerns the outer material form; he baptised with water, the symbol of purification and duly 'recognised' the ONE Who was to come forth and point the way. The Word made flesh.
"...In these two saints the past and the future are portrayed." - p. 100.

"...in Masonry is preserved for us a guarantee of the ultimate achievement of humanity - a humanity whose standard of measure is perfection and whose ranks are filled by those who..."have attained unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ" - a mankind, "made up of all the single men, in such a synthesis the journey ends."" - p. 105.

"Is it not possible from a contemplation of this side of Masonic teaching that it may provide all that is necessary for the formulation of a universal religion?" - p. 109.

"He is regarded as the G.A.O.T.U., the Creator of the material natural world, that which brings the physical or material body (individual and cosmic) into manifestation." - p. 111.

"For a new day is dawning: a new age is close upon us... The Piscean Age is passing; the Aquarian Age is coming on. Each age runs about 2100 years, and they overlap, taking about 500 years for the transit. Astronomers tell us that we are now approximately at the midway point of transition." - p. 120.

"...new era..." - p. 120.

"This is a tremendous advantage aiding the dawning of the new day in which the true destiny of the Masonic fraternity will be achieved.
"W.L. Wilmshurst, with deep insight, states that the work of the Master Mason is to rebuild the temple of fallen humanity. This statement is eloquent of the dawning realisation that the Masonic Order is not intended simply to aid the individual who joins but that it has a world mission in aid of all men every in the world, and that this mission is spiritual." - p. 125.

"...the leaven of new age progress is stirring us." - p. 129.

"We shall need new Masonic language in the new age." - p. 131.

"Masonry because of this one tenet is essentially religious. When prostituted to secular ends it is no longer real Masonry, however regularly its rituals are attended." - p. 132.

"The various degrees in Masonry are symbolic stages on the human evolutionary path of spiritual development." - p. 157.

"...all humanity is changing and like it or not Masonry, consisting of human beings, will inevitably change as mankind moves on into a new age." - p. 139.

"These spiritual ancient mysteries were brought to our Great White Lodge, known to non-Masons as the Hierarchy, from the Great White Lodge on Sirius. They veil the secret of man's origin and destiny, and are symbolically expressed in the rituals of the Masonic degrees." - p. 140.

"The Piscean era brought extreme materialism to all organisations..." - p. 140.

"There are millions of stars but our Earth but among them all only the star Sirius has a direct link with the Earth and with humanity. Much was known to the Ancients about Sirius, now largely lost but recoverable. Our modern exploration of outer space is helping us here. Our planet is affected by other planets in our solar system which, in turn, is affected by other solar systems. We are learning that it is a scientific fact that the stars affect the human kingdom on Earth and therefore us...
"...our solar Logos cooperates with other solar Logoi, and especially with Sirius.
"...The solar system Sirius is both larger and older than our solar system and has much greater influence in the Cosmos. There is a direct magnetic link between Sirius and our solar system and to Mercury, Mars, and Venus.
...
"...Because the star Sirius is older than the Earth, Masonry could have existed there long before our Earth Masonry began. By implication there is human life on Sirius and research in outer space now indicated that the type of life we call human is not limited to this planet...
"...Life on Sirius is therefore the destiny of the majority of humanity who then if they are Masons continue as Masons." - pp. 144-5.

Some of this stuff about Sirius and the Great White Lodge, at the end of the book, seems pretty wacky to me. At least he is confirming the importance of Sirius. Maybe he is using coded language and means something other than what I am understanding? Or maybe this is some of the more standard 'new age' theory he is working into Masonry? Not sure.

The double cross was also added to graves of men who were of a scientific fraternity, they depict the two equinoxes which gives seven lines from 21 March twix 23 September.

Here is an instrument used in astronomical avenues to calculate the timings and crossings of the sun and planets.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goniometer

There are also other clues in my area to masonic parlance.

On a sheer rock face not so far away from me, is a the very same double XX carving and a crown alignments, there is on the exact magnetic North a large Larch tree which is exactly in line with the very centre of the spiral staircase within Culloden Tower, this spiral runs anti clockwise like that of true nature and circumnutation or circumambulate, and beyond this to the North lies Temple Lodge built by the Yorke family, all these attributes are in a perfect line together.

Also adjacent to the carving which is on a flat slab of the rock face is two small cairns which create a gateway.

the egyptians had a king making ritual where the new king would drink the fluid from a gland of the old kings brain when he died

he would then enter an altered state of consciousness through which he journeyed to the stars to meet the great white brotherhood; they would then crown him as pharoah

any squabbling over the throne would cease after this ritual and the pharoah would be accepted as the rightful leader

From The Secret Science of Masonic Initiation by Robert Lomas:
"...the esoteric mission of Freemasonry has been to help lead humanity through an age of great materialism, a new Dark Age, while keeping the flame of true spirituality alive." - p. 10. From the foreword by Jonathan Black (Mark Booth)

"[Lomas] alludes...to...elements of esoteric physiology - what are called in other schools of thought the chakras..." - p. 10. From the foreword by Jonathan Black (Mark Booth)

"If you follow this course; if you make your daily steps in Masonic knowledge; you may in time become a Living Stone in the Masonic Temple of perfected humanity." - p. 19.

"...it is a fact of our Masonic Science that new consciousness gives rise to new faculties." - p. 22.

"In this fifth kingdom - the kingdom of the Initiates - that masonry invites us first to contemplate and then to enter. That is why five upward steps lead from the First to the Second Degree. That is why we are told to lift our eyes to a bright five-pointed star whose rising brings peace and salvation to the faithful and obedient. So, too, we develop Five Points of Fellowship and self-identification, and why the number five recurs so prominently in our system.
"Nature loves the number five. Look at the hosts of five-petalled flowers and five-pointed leaves she produces. Our human senses are five, and our hands and feet split to form five extremities each. They are part of Nature's efforts to prepare her creatures for eventual advancement to a kingdom that, in our Secret Masonic Science, is always associated with the number five.
"The geometrical symbolist will think of the five kingdoms in terms of the point, the line, the square, the cube, and finally the pentagon or five-pointed star... The psychologist, taking x as the cell and the simplest conscious mode (the mineral), will equate the plant with x^2, the animal with x^3, man with x^4, and the Initiate with x^5: each new kingdom involving an extra dimension of consciousness." - p. 23.

"The floor represents you physical state, or body: you lower or material nature." - p. 26.

"The Earth represents your physical nature. It is that part of yourself where your natural consciousness is normally focused. This lowest element in us is shown as a chequer-work floor made up of black and white squares of equal size. This shows that everything in the material world is split into two opposite aspects." - p. 27.

"The goal of all mystical attainment, whether in Masonry or elsewhere, is the union of the human with the divine consciousness. This is why the First-Degree Tracing Board puts the Blazing Star at its centre and makes it the most conspicuous feature of the diagram. It symbolizes the divine principle in yourself that you must seek to make one with the root of your being." - p. 35.

"Corn is an emblem of seed, or the principle of immortality, growing in the soil of our mortal bodies." - p. 45.

"All three gates lead to the Centre, but The Gate of Wisdom (or Knowledge), is known to Masons as Solomon's Porch because it was the gate used by King Solomon himself and is the focus of the work of a Fellowcraft." - p. 46. Gateway Arch?

"Progress is made not by straight-line motion, as our senses often deceive us into supposing, but circularly, by following a tightening spiral path, progressively approaching the Truth." - p. 47.

"The descent of the spirit into this material world and its evolutionary re-ascent out of it is also illustrated by the symbol of the Jacob's ladder that is show in the board of the First Degree as a great stairway, rising from the altar." - p. 48.

"It is possible to raise consciousness to abnormal levels and manipulate concealed spiritual forces within you mind to selfish ends. If in due time you come to lean something of these things you will find within yourself powers which serve as Guardians of the Threshold who will challenge you right to enter the higher planes of life..." - p. 50.

"This ruinous loss and its cyclical renewal, is the raison d'etre of the secret Mystery schools and their present day agent, the Craft. For all those systems, including Masonry, were instituted for the sole purpose of asserting the truth of the spirit's fall into material darkness and its restoration to light... All these myths presuppose that humanity can know a state of perfection and that it has become unhinged and uncentred from its true root of being. They also offer various means of restoration to perfection, including secret knowledge and perfecting rituals." - p. 57.

"Dante's Divine Comedy is another poetic account of passing through the underworld via a purifying plane to paradise beyond, and the walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death in the 23rd Psalm is one of many Biblical allusions to it." - p. 59. Reminded me of the Pulp Fiction quote.

"Our myth tells of the misery of a race that knows there is a golden age to be enjoyed, yet lives in darkness. Our spirit is exiled in a strange land, but a subliminal impression of light lingers in us." - p. 62.

"In the board the spirit is indicated by a chevron or triangle, with its apex pointing westwards. This indicates the downward fall of the spirit into darkness." - p. 64.

The cerebrospinal fluid which was drained from the menenges is the original Manna from heaven the crown chakra, leading from the base of the spine to the double hemisphere in the temple.

The bowmen mentioned earlier can also be found in the body within the kidneys.

My medical training from memory tells me that the Nephron of which there is around a million in each kidney deals with filtering out the vital salts which the body needs and discards the pollutants.

This begins at the Bowman's capsule and the glomerulus and the blood makes it way around the nephron until it rounds the lope of henle, and empties into the pyramids leading to the urethra here is yet another chakra.

All such chakras can be explained bio technically as well as spiritually.

Hope that helps.
