All I can say is.... they are blatant puppets. :p
Empty, plastic music for mind con-trolling.

Agreed…

To me---most of the music that is out there today---it hardly resembles any music that has ever been around before and is just a part of the mass distraction, mass delusion, "keep their eyes wide shut" program.

As you say--the music is purely plastic, "throw away" here this second, gone the next----

I don't know if is designed so much for mind-control per se, but it surely is part of the campaign of mass distraction and diversion being waged by "the masters."

OK but this video is sooo 2000late

There's a difference between catchy and robotically formulaic. Not a fan of her art but enjoyed some of her earlier stuff more. This millennial sound I wonder if anyone actually liked, ever, or it just got so much air time that everyone thought it was the right thing to imitate. Going by this vid's view count I'd say kids today have no taste. Was Ms Perry's evolution pre- or post- Russel Brand?

Whether or not you like folksy stuff Jewel's earlier songs shone in their own way. Then she tried to pander to the younger crowd and to me that was a mistake.

Katy Perry will die in a car crash or some way pretty soon.

moobs 21-11-2014 01:39 PM

I'm sure that Katy Perry is very grateful for the link and all the views that this forum is providing her!

300 mil + views. Wth is wrong w/ today's children? Too much grey blood?

fishonwheels 21-11-2014 10:57 PM

There's stuff that sounds real and stuff that sounds like an imitation and neither race nor genre have to do with it. Artists spend the best of their pre-fame yrs perfecting their earlier style and pieces then once they blow and become household brands companies push them to make more records and say it's fine if you don't feel inspired we'll throw in A, B, C, and D and voila instant platinum in village of the damned.

^Not an especially remarkable remix, but still "real."

fishonwheels 22-11-2014 01:47 AM

Ms. Perry & co., meet your elder:

USA, circa 1995

And your foreign relation:

Taiwan 2012

Neither was my cup of tea and despite the commercial success both enjoyed my verdict is...REAL. They just worked.

All this music sounds the same to me, corrupted 'love' songs, but it's the music I feel particulary jarring, it's like on the edge of panic, this is just product for the machine.

Ms. Perry's continuing popularity is quite notable since her message targets only teenage girls and teenage queens. It seems these entire demographics are under her spell and maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. Give them more time on this earth and they might develop a more discerning ear.

Horrible stuff.

I was showing my 15 year old some videos of pop in my day (70's 80's) where the bands sung on stage, did a bit of dancing and the videos were basically a bit of walking around looking pretty as they sung. I showed her how Debbie Harry, Cerys Matthews, the Abba ladies, David Essex (and many others) were looked attractive and were considered as godlike as today's singers without being half naked, oiled up and simulating sex.

She says she hates all the sex in the videos but cannot bear to see the type of video I showed here, because she's so used to the constant movement and bright colours in modern videos.

rooey 07-12-2014 01:12 AM

yeah peoples brains are different..

all the constant stimulation from the internet, being able to browse 6 things at once , plus the modern music designed to be so grating and rough. changes and degrades your synaptic pathways in the brain (well all music does, some worse then others, some heals, nothing much anyone is listening to today does though, at least to best of my knowledge), so perhaps you may never get a chance to like good music. their heads are being set up to be sonic trash bins..

Wow I've never felt so alienated. Nvm the song why do ppl watch "reality" stars go through their daily minutiae such as tweeting about how they just took cell phone pictures of their food etc. Nothing against the Kardashians and maybe I've never given anything like that a chance but I really just want to understand.

*Yes KK is hawt and there's always the pause and mute buttons but I still don't get it.
