Brand new info regarding opening ceremony *crazy*
So I've just seen the UK news confirm that the 2012 Olympic games opening ceremony will be directly inspired by the William Blake poem known as Jerusalem.

From what I can remember - Rik Clay specifically mentions this poem as some kind of weird blueprint for the occasion.

Crazy coincidence or was Rik well and truly on some next level.

I need to re listen to the interview but I was pretty shocked when I saw it just now.

Boyle, the filmmaker behind "Trainspotting" and the Academy Award-winning "Slumdog Millionaire," said the set for the opening ceremony will evoke the "green and pleasant land" of William Blake's poem "Jerusalem," an emblem of Englishness.

He said the opening ceremony would be a "reflection of part of our heritage," but would also depict Britain's present and look to the future. The set is designed to evoke the site where the stadium stands: once countryside, then industrial land, bombed during World War II and now being regenerated as a park.

Yes, I have seen the video of Clay talking about the poem and it's no coincidence. I believe it is on another thread.
