When you think about the past,10+ years ago what is your favourite thing about it?

Mine is HOW MUCH BETTER THINGS WERE MADE.... Quality was 1000% better, clothes felt better to wear,etc....... Houses were made better (Well 50+ years ago)

I am quite disgusted with how things have gone over the last few years, all this cheap crap replaced GOOD THINGS we remembered from years ago.......

What do you think??

the part when humans lived like gods, there was no death, illness, fighting, when we could see into the past and the future, when we could visualise and create things, when we used telepathy instead of language and we communicated with animals, when there was ultimate piece. This is the part of history before Draco reptilians came and practically destroyed mankind in every single way.

Are you totally mad?

In the last ten years clothes felt 1000 times better to wear?

How fucking uncomfortable were you in clothes in the 1990s?????

Time doesn't exist. Claiming that it does it traps you in a left-brain reality.
Why don't you ask a question like "What is your favourite part of NOW?" :D

I think the late 1600s to the Victorian age. Mainly because I'm girly and prefer the clothes back then, since the war we've had to economize which is why we wear less clothing, gave up the corset, introduced nylons instead of silk stockings..margarine instead of butter. I just think it would be a lot cooler living in a world where polyester didn't exist.

Also I like the music better..and the buildings..although finding information and like-minded people would've been more difficult, it would've been hard with all the closed-mindedness (still is like that but I think it's getting better)

My favorite part of history is probably the un-historical.

thoughtmage 19-06-2011 04:12 AM

I live in a house that was built in the 1930's, and there isnt a square room in the house!!

all the walls and at LEAST 5 inches out......

Not to mention, the walls on my second floor are made with a type of block that is pretty much everything they had lying around fused together with some type of crappy gloop that solidified.....

you are correct about the time loop but how do we call history then?

arcyclus 23-06-2011 05:50 AM

Mine is the Egyptian era. The ancient Egyptians showed the world you could have all the comforts of the material world and be immortal to.

I admit I was more uncomfortable in 80's clothes than 90's clothes. Too tight and shoulder pads and a certain posture had to maintained so everything would present precisely. Glad those days are over for my age group.

Pity the young folks - you're still stuck with that - Lol!! - if you wish to present a successful appearance, that is...but why bother, you won't be able get a job flippin' burgers.

But I know high end age boomers who still hold a strict, corporate, appearance policy (very muscular calves from decades of high heels); they refuse to retire, or can't. Me, I just don't care anymore. What care I once held has been sucked away.

Egypt the 18th dynasty. All the mystery, suspense, murder, drama, conspiracy, and everything you could possibly wrap your mind around.

I believe it was a time when Mars and Earth had an exchange of cultures.

I believe the Aton or Aten was the first known mind control devise in written history.

I believe the entire subject of monotheism originated in this area and in this time.

I believe the Aten or Aton was what resided between the two cherubs on the top of the Arc of the Covenant.

I believe the purpose of the Aten or Aton was world control through Monotheism.

Nothing, anywhere, could ever be more interesting than 18th Dynasty EGYPT!

Memories of the past suggest the quality of food.

andy1033 11-07-2018 08:41 AM

For me, the best time on earth would of been before there was ever the creature we call humans.

That would of been nature at its best, and pure.

Humans are a waste of time, and i personally do not think they have ever worked out anything. But they think they are masters of the universe.

If there was a real time, before humans ate the apple from the tree of knowledge, that would of been the best time for earth.

I personally do not think any age where humans were thinking beings ever was a decent nice place. The past was rubbish, and the future with humans will be mostly rubbish.

Animals, that come into this world that only live a few years are far better off, then humans whom can live to a 100. What a waste of time human life is, and all this rubbish about being thinking beings, when humans are like a cancer to the earth.

About 400 years a go when Muslims were kicked out of Europe.

'inbuilt obsolescence' i think they call that....when things are built to break after their warranty expires so that you have to buy a new one. Also things are built in a way that they can't be easily repaired by people

Television exposed children to massive amounts of violence. The stats for how many murders a child had seen on television by a certain age are crazy but the internet shows them real murders and hardcore porn and more movies and TV shows then you can watch in one lifetime

It used to be that when you read a book you used your own imagination to view the characters in your minds eye but now there have been movies made of many books so people already have an idea in their mind of what the character looks like before they read the book

With so many things to distract young people they don't need to live in a world of their own imagination as much so i think there is less use of imagination now

Social media makes people narcissistic because they feel they have to build their own public image where they post artificial snap shots of their life to try and portray themselves as celebrities in their own soap opera where everything is perfect and they are just kicking lifes ass

I think that this bombardment by social media and the wider media of images and extreme content has a kind of numbing effect on children and they become jaded and dead-eyed and start to self-harm just to try and feel something

Their own inner feeling doesn't match upto the ideal of perpetual fun and happiness portrayed by everyone else on facebook and on the TV screen and they begin to feel that they will never be like the people portrayed on the screens or live such happy go lucky and in-the-thick-of-the-in-thing or in-crowd lives that they begin to feel hopeless and their self esteem tanks

I think we live in an incredibly sick society that has become very good at pretending that everything is just tickety-boo so that it never has to face upto any of the harsh realities but until it does the problems in society will just fester and deepen

I really can’t call any time my “favourite”. As far as I can tell there was never a “good” time.
Because of computer technology and systematic violations of constitutional rights and privacy, things have deteriorated fast since 9/11.
Most products were already crap long before that, designed to break down...

This thread reminds me of the following song: Stevie Wonder - Pastime paradise (1976).
