Surely wood fires are net zero carbon because they're only releasing the co2 back into the atmosphere which the tree absorbed from it in the recent past. There's a fair bit of effort involved depending on how much you prep your own fuel. Its about 12 quid for a couple of packs of kindling so i chop my own but that takes time.... modern society has embraced comfort as a highest ideal. With the wet wood and coal it seems to be the particulates that some people are worried about. Well dried wood apparently burns more completely and smokeless coal is meant to be cleaner so those are steps that can be taken, short of fitting coal scrubbers to everyones chimneys! The mainstream media and others are now openly suggesting that it’s actually okay to be opposed to certain aspects of groups like the World Economic Forum. They give you permission to be concerned, just don’t dare call it conspiracy. This propaganda is a deviation from the abject denials we’re accustomed to hearing in the Liberty Movement for the past decade or more. We have all been confronted with the usual cognitive dissonance – the claims that globalist groups “just sit around talking about boring economic issues” and nothing they do has any bearing on global politics or your everyday life. In some cases we were even told that these groups of elites “don’t exist.” Now, the media is admitting that, yes, perhaps the globalists do have more than just a little influence over governments, social policies and economic outcomes. But, what the mainstream doesn’t like is the assertion that globalists have nefarious or authoritarian intentions. That’s just crazy tinfoil hat talk, right? The reason for the narrative shift is obvious. Far too many people witnessed the true globalist agenda in action during the pandemic lockdowns and now they see the conspiracy for what it is. The globalists, in turn, seem to have been shocked to discover many millions of people in opposition to the mandates and the refusals to comply were clearly far greater than they expected. They are still trying to push their brand of covid fear, but the cat is out of the bag now. They failed to get what they wanted in the West, which was a perpetual Chinese-style medical tyranny with vaccine passports as the norm. So, the globalist strategy has changed and they are seeking to adapt. They admit to a certain level of influence, but they pretend as if they are benevolent or indifferent. The response to this lie is relatively straightforward. I could point out how Klaus Schwab of the WEF savored the thrill of the initial pandemic outbreak and declared that covid was the perfect “opportunity” to initiate what the WEF calls the “Great Reset.” I could also point out that Klaus Schwab’s vision of the Reset, what he calls the “4th Industrial Revolution,” is a veritable nightmare world in which Artificial Intelligence runs everything, society is condensed into digital enclaves called “smart cities” and people are oppressed by carbon taxation. I could point out that the WEF actively supports the concept of the “Shared Economy” in which you will “own nothing, have no privacy” and you will supposedly be happy about it, but only because you won’t have any other choice. What I really want to talk about, however, is the process by which the elites hope to achieve their dystopian epoch, as well as the globalist mindset which lends itself to the horrors of technocracy. The common naive assumption among skeptics of conspiracy is that the globalists are regular human beings with the same drives and limited desires as the rest of us. They might have some power, but world events are still random and certainly not controlled. This is a fallacy. The globalists are not like us. They are not human. Or, I should say, they despise humanity and seek to do away with it. And, because of this, they have entirely different aspirations compared to the majority of us which include aspirations of dominance. What we are dealing with here are not normal people with conscience, ethics or empathy. Their behavior is much more akin to higher functioning psychopaths and sociopaths rather than the everyday person on the street. We saw this on full display during the covid lockdowns and the vicious attempts to enforce vaccine passports; their actions betray their long game. Take a look at comments by New Zealand’s prime minister and WEF attendee, Jacinda Ardern, from a year ago. She admits to the deliberate tactic of creating a two-tier class system within her own country based on vaccination status. There is no remorse or guilt in her demeanor, she is proud of taking such authoritarian actions despite numerous studies that prove the mandates are ineffective. Beyond the covid response, though, I suggest people who deny globalist conspiracy take a deeper dive into the philosophical roots of organizations like the WEF. Their entire ideology can be summed up in a couple words – futurism and godhood. Futurism is an ideological movement which believes that all “new” innovations, social or technological, should supplant the previous existing systems for the sake of progress. They believe that all old ways of thinking, including notions of principles, heritage, religious belief systems, codes of conduct, etc. are crutches holding humanity back from greatness. But what is the greatness the futurists seek? As mentioned above, they want godhood. An era in which the natural world and human will is enslaved by the hands of a select few. Case in point – The following presentation from 2018 by WEF “guru” Yuval Harari on the future of humanity as the globalists see it: Harari’s conclusions are rooted in elitist biases and ignore numerous psychological and social realities, but we can set those aside for a moment and examine his basic premise that humanity as we know it will no longer exist in the next century because of “digital evolution” and “human hacking.” The foundation of the WEF vision is built on the idea that data is the new Holy Grail, the new conquest. This is something I have written about extensively in the past (check out my article ‘Artificial Intelligence: A Secular Look At The Digital Antichrist’) but it is good to see it expressed with such arrogance by someone like Harari because it is undeniable evidence – the globalists think they are going to build a completely centralized economy and society based on human data rather than production. In other words, YOU become the product. The average citizen, your thoughts and your behaviors, become the stock in trade. Globalists also believe that data is most valuable because it can be exploited to control people’s behaviors, to hack the body and mind in order to create human puppets, or create super-beings. They dream of becoming little gods with omnipotent knowledge. Yuval even proudly proclaims that intelligent design will no longer be the realm of God in heaven, but of the new digitized man. While Harari pays lip service to “democracy” vs “digital dictatorship,” he goes on to assert that centralization may become the de facto system of governance. He says this not because he fears dictatorship, but because that has always been the WEF’s intent. The globalist argues that governments cannot be trusted to hold a monopoly on the digital wellspring and that someone needs to step in to regulate data; but “who would do this?” he asks. He already knows the answer. The UN, a globalist edifice, has consistently said it should be the governing body that takes control of AI and data regulation through UNESCO. That is to say, Harari is playing coy, he knows that the people who will step in to control the data are people just like him. At no point in Harari’s speech does he suggest that that any of these developments should be obstructed or stopped. At no point does he offer the idea that the digitization of humanity is wrong and that there are other better ways of living. He actually mocks the concept of “going back” to old ways; only the future and the Tabula Rasa (blank slate) hold promise for the globalists, everything else is an impediment to their designs. But here’s the thing: what the globalists are trying to accomplish is a fantasy. People are not algorithms, despite how much Harari would like them to be. People have habits, yes, but they are also unpredictable and are prone to sudden awakenings and epiphanies in the moment of crisis. Psychopaths tend to be robotic people, acting impulsively but also very predictably. They lack imagination, intuition and foresight, and so it’s not surprising that organizations of psychopaths like the WEF would place such an obsessive value on AI, algorithms and a cold technocratic evolution. They don’t view their data Shangri-La as humanity’s future; they see it as THEIR future – the future of the non-humans, or the anti-humans as it were. Who will produce all the goods, services and necessities required in this brave new world? Well, all of us peons, of course. Sure, the globalists will offer grand promises of a robot-driven production economy in which people no longer need to engage in menial labor, but this will be another lie. They’ll still need people to plant the crops, maintain infrastructure, take care of manufacturing, do their fighting for them, etc.; they’ll just need less of us. At bottom, an economy built on data is an economy dependent on illusion. Data is vaporous and oftentimes meaningless because it is subject to the biases of the interpreter. Algorithms can also be programmed to the biases of the engineers. There is nothing inherently objective about data – it is all dependent on the intentions of the people analyzing it. For example, to use Harari’s anecdote of an algorithm that “knows you are gay” before you do: any twisted group of people could simply write code for an algorithm that tells the majority of easily manipulated kids that they are gay, even when they are not. And, if you are gullible enough to believe the algorithm is infallible, then you could be led to believe that numerous falsehoods are true and be convinced to behave against your nature. You have allowed a biased digital phantom to dictate your identity, and have made yourself “hackable.” In the meantime, the elitists entertain delusions of surpassing their mortal limitations by “hacking” the human body, as well as reading the minds of the masses and predicting the future based on data trends. This is an obsession which ignores the unpredictable wages of the human soul, that very element of conscience and of imagination which psychopaths lack. It’s something that cannot be hacked. The legitimacy of the data-based system and the hacking of humanity that the WEF aspires to is less important than what the masses can be convinced of. If the average person can be persuaded to implant their cell phone in their skull in the near future, then yes, humanity might become hackable in a rudimentary way. The algorithms then supplant conscience, empathy and principles. And, without these things all morality becomes relative by default. Evil becomes good, and good becomes evil. By the same token, if humanity can be persuaded to set down their cell phones and live a less tech-focused life, then the digital empire of the globalists comes crashing down quite easily. There is no system the elites can impose that would make their digital consciousness a reality without the consent of the public at large. Without a vast global framework in which people willingly embrace the algorithms rather than their own experience and intuitions, the globalist religion of total centralization dies. The first step is to accept that the conspiracy does indeed exist. The second step is to accept that the conspiracy is malicious and destructive. Macnamara Posted January 15 Author Share Posted January 15 An Army in Waiting Some truthers seem to be anticipating a sudden upswell of outrage from the jabbed portion of the population as they come to the painful realisation that they have been hoodwinked into taking a toxic bioweapon under false pretenses of a dangerous 'pandemic' that was allegedly a threat to their lives. I really hope this happens but I also see that it is a painful reality to wake upto. Imagine the stress of suddenly believing that you have been injected with a bioweapon designed to make your body turn against itself so that every day of your life moving forward is a kind of russian roulette. My experience of people in general is that truth is not their highest ideal and that as a rule of thumb people believe what they WANT to believe. Everyone understands that justice is the equal application of objective principles of morality and yet in practice people will usually side in disputes with the person they are allied to or most identify with. We see these divisions time and time again on the hot button news stories like george floyd for example; some will say 'he was a victim of police brutality' whilst others will say 'he was a dirty drug dealer who was high on fentanyl' but maybe the truth is sometimes a bit of both. People tend to believe in what they WANT to believe and what they WANT to believe is invariably what is least painful for their ego to deal with. In the age of 'intersectionality' people have split into small tribes that see 'justice' or rather 'social justice' as merely whatever is in the narrow interests of their own small tribe. The government has played on this by creating further divisions during the covid-era by pitting the jabbed against those evil 'anti-vaxxers' who the jabbed puritans are informed are 'anti-science' as if science is something that is always 'settled' rather than being simply a method to be used to explore physical reality in which case it is never really 'settled' but rather on a never ending journey of discovery and evolution. The jabbed were pulled into the embrace of big brother government by being told 'we are all in this together' and encouraged to bang their pots and pans as an open display of virtue signalling to their neighbours which by default then also exposed and shamed those in the street who did not comply. But how often was 'we are all in it together' really just a smokescreen for more selfish goals such as 'i just want to be able to go on holiday' or 'i want to be able to attend music concerts and events with my friends' or 'i was afraid for my job' etc? Perhaps the alarming trend asserting itself in this new woke-covid-bio-security state era is the prevention of debate. We were simply not allowed to publically debate the nature of the threat from 'covid 19' symptoms (an umbrella term they used to describe flu-like symptoms which they claimed were caused not by the flu, which dissapeared during the scamdemic but by a novel coronavirus they called 'sars cov2'). Neither were we allowed to debate whether or not there should be a national roll out of experimental mRNA gene therapy injections given 'emergency authorisation' before the testing phase was complete thereby turning the entire nations population into a giant medical experiment. In the second world war nazi scientists like josef mengele carried out experimentations on human beings and some people gave the excuse when under trial at nuremburg after the war that they were 'just following orders'. This excuse was deemed INVALID and that a person should exercise their own personal conscience and be held accountable for their individual actions. Despite these well publicised events doctors and nurses up and down this country carried out a giant medical experiment on the british people under the excuse that they were just following orders from the government or the 'protocols' of their hospital, practice or trust. Even prior to the covid jab roll outs we were told that the 'science' on climate change was 'settled' and that we were not allowed to debate it or else we would face a slew of nasty slurs such as 'climate denier', 'tinfoil hat wearer' etc etc. Climate has always changed but the question is whether or not manmade CO2 is the primary driver of that change but we were told that debate could not take place. But why if they are so sure of their position would they be afraid of debate? Surely if 'the science' is so 'settled' then that debate would be an easy win for them? Is it possible that the sun might play a part in the earths climate? Is it true that CO2 doesn't drive climate change but in fact lags behind it as a product of it? Surely these questions and more besides need to be answered before we make vast changes that might cause great harm to billions of people? As we see the public being distracted by the harry and megan circus the government is quietly using the border force and RNLI to taxi tens of thousands of military aged men over the british channel before paying to house them in hotels whilst paying them a weekly stipend. Why are they doing this? To cross over to french waters and then pick people up and bring them to british ports is a breach of sea rescue protocol which is to return stranded people at sea to the nearest port which would be in france. So why are they doing this? If the migrants were war refugees then they would be mostly comprised of women and children as the men would have remained to fight and yet there are barely any women and children. So is it possible the british deep state is quietly building an army in waiting that they intend to use for some nefarious purpose? Obviously they doubt the willingness of british soldiers to carry out hostile acts against their own countrymen and women, families and communities so it looks like they are recruiting mercenaries to carry out some sort of hostile act against the british people. Could such a force be used to enforce another covid lockdown? Could they be used to impose mandatory jabs roll outs on everyone who does not have a special pass? Could they be there to maintain order in the event of an economic breakdown which would be accelerated by the cost of housing and feeding the migrant army in waiting? Whilst a mercenary army carried out hostile actions against the british people what would the british soldiers be doing? Would they stand idly by whilst the british people were aggressively policed by foreign forces? This would require the british soldiers to be removed from british soil. One way to do this would be to jab them all with a bioweapon that will kill or wound them thereby rendering them null as a fighting force. Another method would be to deploy them abroad so that they are simply not here to defend the british people. Left-wing, pro-vaccine news platform Politico reports: Officials are launching a new plan to develop medical treatments, vaccines and personal protective equipment that can adapt to a range of evolving biological and chemical threats,”said Ian Watson, DoD’s deputy assistant secretary for chemical and biological defence. This new military approach to medicine is officially named the ‘Chemical and Biological Defense Program’s Enhanced Medical Countermeasures Approach’. The move involves the development of tests, treatments and vaccines for a range of as-yet-unknown threats. Its introduction marks a shift in strategy for the DoD. According to Ian Watson, “the change in approach has been shaped in large part by the Covid-19 pandemic. It can be impossible to tell whether a new threat is naturally occurring or intentionally manipulated by adversaries, but either way, the countermeasures are often the same.” Evidently all along there has been a US suspicion that covid-19 is actually an escaped bioweapon. If that is the case, the close involvement of the military in our future medical services is a given. Military thinking is quite different from civilian thinking. Military thinking involves inevitable casualties. As Tennyson said: “Theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die.” With this in mind, it is no surprise that the medical profession has changed gears and now insists that nothing has gone wrong – excess all-cause mortality in highly vaccinated nations is simply the cost of final victory. Biotechnology doesn’t work The fly in the ointment of this wacky philosophy is the risk of biotechnology itself. Apparently, no one has informed the top military brass that biotech doesn’t actually work, it kills people, any people, whether they are friends or foes, Russian, Chinese, or American. Moreover, it is an offensive/defensive weapon like no other, once launched it can’t be recalled, it goes on killing people indefinitely. It appears to me that the military is as much a victim of biotechnology misinformation as everyone else is. You can make money out of biotechnology whether it works or not, whether it helps or kills people. You simply have to keep the investment dollars, the government grants, and the military contracts rolling in. You do this by making wild promises that you can’t keep. By the time it becomes clear that your product doesn’t work and actually harms people, you have a new product ready to go and a new set of promises. Technology moves so fast that the government, the medical profession, and the military can never catch up. They are in a state of constant fear driven by people writing sexy public relations drivel that arrives on official-looking letterhead on everyone’s desktop. All at the push of a button. And the writers are very well paid to do so. They probably also write the scripts for fanciful quasi-medical Sci-Fi epics that pollute our televisions with stories of miracle cures engineered by white-coated scientists and hunky heroes. None of this exists. In truth, the failure and risk of biotechnology are a dirty secret that is being kept from us. When trusting school children were told they needed to get the covid vaccine in order to participate in school activities, no one told them that 17.1% would experience a cardiac symptom whose final outcome was unknown. No one told them that they were being signed up as subjects in an experiment. No one told them or their parents that they had virtually no risk from covid infection, but a measurable and significant risk subsequent to vaccination. No one told them that many medical professionals would ignore or dismiss them if they suffered a vaccine injury. It is hard to escape the notion that school children have become cannon fodder in a secret war orchestrated by biotech dreamers and misguided military planners not too dissimilar from Dr. Strangelove. Needless to say, this arrogant claim merely hints at the scale of disinformation practised by global elites in pushing numerous messages designed to spread fearful command-and-control societal propaganda. PR Flak Fleming also noted that the UN worked with Tik Tok on a project called ‘Team Halo’ to boost Covid messaging. This was said to be another trusted messenger project, “where we trained scientists around the world and some doctors on Tik Tok, and we had TikTok working with us”. With climate, as with some of the Covid narrative, science has long taken a back seat. Any scientific findings that suggest human-produced carbon dioxide is not the overriding thermostat that determines the Earth’s climate are either insulted or ignored. Only ‘settled’ science messages from presumably ‘trained’ scientists are allowed. It is perhaps no accident that Google’s capture by the UN came at a time when it ‘demonetised’ a blog detailing the global satellite temperature record. This work by two scientists at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, is the most accurate record of global temperature. As we have seen, it shows considerably less warming since 1979 than surface datasets, that have been adjusted upwards on a retrospective basis. Google took its action on the patently false grounds that the page was supplying “harmful claims“. Of course, much of this narrative is indicative of a desire by elites in an inter-connected world to enforce more controlling collectivism on local and international populations. We must be grateful to the Guardian for providing a ‘long read’ (how your correspondent suffers for his art) detailing the way that political activists infiltrate the climate debate in order to push this long-cherished, capitalism-hating political narrative. “One of the goals of system change is to supersede individual virtue,” writes U.S. correspondent Rebecca Solnit (pictured). By “individual virtue”, of course, she means individual choice. “Electrification will have happened because of the collective action that takes shape as policy and regulation,” she adds. Solnit quotes the climate writer Mary Heglar, who suggests that for too long the climate fight has been limited to scientists and policy experts. What we “desperately need” are more artists. Solnit suggests “winning” the popular imagination by providing new stories on climate. Already, she says that “climate denial” has been rendered largely obsolete by climate-driven catastrophes promoted by activists and journalists. By this, she refers to the non-stop pseudoscientific attribution of every bad weather event to humans burning fossil fuel. We have to find stories of a liveable future, “stories of popular power that motivate people to do what it takes to make the world we need”, urges Solnit. Stories, it might be noted, that persuade people to give up products that work like gas boilers and internal combustion engines, in favour of manifestly inferior substitutes. Stories, for instance, as spun by Solnit, that suggest mining for lithium and cobalt will be an “inevitable part of building renewables”. Thus important questions over the finite supplies of both these materials, and the use of children to mine cobalt, are conveniently ignored. It is estimated that 225 tonnes of the Earth’s crust must be disturbed to supply just one 1,000 pound car battery, but Solnit points to the “far vaster scale and impact of fossil fuel mining”. Of course it can be argued that the modern-day extraction of oil and gas is a remarkably clean process, requiring little more than a hole in the ground. No children need die in the process. Old-school Marxists have always relied on demonising the rich to promise a better future for all. So Solnit runs with the story that we need to punish the rich with their large carbon footprints, and “the global majority don’t need to change much”. This is highly disingenuous. Lifestyle changes proposed by green elites become more extreme by the month – this month, meat off the menu because cows fart, next month, dangerous fertilisers and farms impounded. Billions of people will be affected by diet, travel and energy bans and restrictions, and billions more will be denied the life-enhancing progress enjoyed in the industrialised countries over the last 200 years. Last year, green elites were shocked by polling evidence that suggested four in ten people across five continents believed climate change was mainly due to natural causes. This despite decades of climate catastrophising to promote Net Zero policies. The 30-country IPSOS survey found that the level of climate scepticism was very similar in all age categories, but there was wide divergence when political leanings were taken into account. Across seven countries surveyed, 28% of supporters of the Left were sceptical of human-caused climate change, a figure that rose to 50% of those on the Right. The underlying climate message is hard-core Marxist. Recognising the reality of climate breakdown means limiting the freedom of the individual “in the name of the wellbeing of the collective”, Solnit states. There is another way to count wealth and abundance for the many including “meaningful work and purposeful lives”, she suggests. But if the excess deaths are occuring in all the countries that had a covid jab roll out then they can't all be blamed on a failing NHS... Although he had a motive of being seen as the messiah, I wonder if he was just a front man and someone else, or perhaps an already existing hidden sect was putting him forward as a public front. Zevi became interested in mysticism and Kabbalah as a young man, and during his colourful life Kabbalah appears as a common thread among his influencers, followers and promoters such as Isaac Luria, Nathan of Gaza and Abraham Yachini. Kabbalah is of course a well known subset of Judaism with published literature, which is variously described as mysticism and occultism. It's not a secret society in itself, but do you think there might have been underground orders hiding within Kabbalah which could have surfaced as things like Sabbateanism, only to disappear back into the shadows at a later date? There have been different takes on the kabbalah for example dion fortune complains in her book 'the mystical qabalah' that aleister crowley was playing around with the positions of the spheres on the tree of life to fit his own anal fixations. Macnamara Posted January 19 Author Share Posted January 19 The extraordinary story of the ‘Pirate Republic’ Celebrating 50 years of independence this year, the Bahamas has come a long way since its days as a lawless land of buccaneers By Chris Leadbeater, Travel Correspondent 18 January 2023 • 3:00pm Amble along Navy Lion Road or Woodes Rogers Walk on a typically warm Caribbean morning, and you will see ships. Lots of ships. You will see super-yachts tucked into the sheltered waters of Pointe Marina. You will surely see cruise ships, too, either wedged into the concrete of Prince George Wharf, or filling up the channel which separates the most populous part of the Bahamas – the capital Nassau, on New Providence island – from the sunny playground of Paradise Island opposite. There will be passengers, sailors and dockers as well. But it won’t be like the old days. It will be nothing like the old days. For a country broadly regarded as an unhurried haven for hot-weather holidays (tourism accounts for 70 per cent of its GDP; contrary to popular opinion, off-shore banking makes up only 15 per cent), the Bahamas has a great deal of history. Some of it is seismic – one of its islands (academic debate still rages as to which) was the first fragment of the Americas spotted by Christopher Columbus, on October 12 1492. Some of it is dark – the hellscape of slavery and European-borne disease which ensued. Some of it is far brighter - 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Bahamian independence. And some of it… well, some of it swashes and buckles in a manner that seems scarcely credible 300 years later. Put plainly, and in modern terminology, if you go back to the start of the 18th century, the Bahamas was a terrorist state. It was a violent, dangerous place where only vicious men and dead-eyed killers could survive. But a potent mix of mythology, Hollywood, Errol Flynn’s smile and Johnny Depp’s eyeliner have worked their magic, so it is simpler to go with a more romantic description of this nation of islands. From roughly 1706 to 1718, the Bahamas – or, at least, New Providence, and the grimy alleyways of the fledgling Nassau - was the “Republic of Pirates”. Splice the mainsail and unfurl the Jolly Roger – this is a tale that needs retelling. This tale started earlier, of course, in the whirlpool of the colonial rush sparked by Columbus’s voyages. Initially claimed by Spain, the Bahamas fell into British clutches in 1648, with the arrival of settlers (the so-called “Eleutheran Adventurers”) from Bermuda. By 1670, Charles II had formally tied the islands to the new province of Carolina, on the American mainland – an absentee-landlord arrangement which allowed disorder to thrive. Into this vacuum sailed Henry Avery, an English mariner who docked his ship, the Fancy, in Nassau in 1696, her hold stuffed with plundered gold, silver, ivory and gunpowder. Partly in self-preservation and partly in self-interest, the governor of the Bahamas, Sir Nicholas Trott, had accepted a sizable bribe to sanction the Fancy’s entry. This bought Avery a blind eye turned – and permission to use New Providence as a base. A precedent was set. Avery was not just a pirate. He might as easily be considered a “privateer”: a sailor with a licence, often government-granted, to make mischief in distant waters by harrying the vessels of his sponsor’s enemies and inflicting financial damage by stealing their cargoes. These were profitable times. The War of the Spanish Succession engulfed much of Europe between 1701 and 1715, and sent ripples across to the Caribbean, where Spanish, French, Portuguese, British and Dutch ships were frequently at each other’s throats in the Atlantic’s main shipping lanes. Suddenly, the Bahamas – one of the quieter outposts of the “New World” – was in a prime location. The men who followed Avery were pirates in a “pure” sense; they were beholden to no government and interested solely in their own endeavours. Though even here, there was honour among thieves. On its coalescence in around 1706, the “Republic of Pirates” brought a certain hard order to the lawlessness. As well as a governor, there was a formal magistrate to enforce the island’s rules, usually on bloody terms. One of the holders of this “office” was one Edward Teach. He is better known today as the fearsome figure Blackbeard, despite the fact that Teach was not one of the ringleaders when the Republic began aggressively expanding its activities. Peace in Europe was not good business for the villains of New Providence. The end of the war made the thin veil of legitimacy provided by privateering licences all but redundant, and the Treaty of Utrecht stripped French and Spanish galleons of their enemy status. Not that this mattered hugely to the unscrupulous captains moored in Nassau. Peace broke out here, too – namely between Henry Jennings and Benjamin Hornigold, two of the port’s biggest hitters and bitterest rivals. Their teaming-up to form the “Flying Gang” was a grim development for legitimate shipping in Caribbean waters. When news broke that a Spanish flotilla had gone down in a hurricane off the east coast of Florida on July 31 1715 – just five months after hostilities had ceased in Europe – Jennings was one of the first on the scene, ravenous for gold, attacking the salvage vessels attempting to rescue a sunken treasure of astonishing value. Hornigold would cling vaguely to his privateer tag, refusing to target British ships. Teach, who was part of his crew, had no such principles. If it sailed past him, he would shoot it. By 1718, he had emerged from Hornigold’s shadow and was running riot on the American coast, his guns trained on Virginia and the Carolinas. In the May of that year, he blockaded Charleston, stopping any ship coming in or out, and syphoning anything of value. His infamy grew, but would eventually be his undoing. Cornered by the British lieutenant Robert Maynard in Ocracoke Inlet, off (what is now) North Carolina, on November 22, he was filleted in a blur of hand-to-hand combat, the deck of the ship he had recklessly boarded slippery with blood. His corpse would be tossed to the waves, but only after his head had been severed and speared onto the bowsprit of Maynard’s sloop – the starkest of warnings. The buccaneer party was approaching its end, as Europe’s kings grew tired of the useful thugs whose belligerence had served them so well. It is with good reason that Nassau’s waterfront is now named after Woodes Rogers. While Blackbeard had been pillaging the Carolinas, this former privateer had been appointed as a new governor of the Bahamas, dispatched to the Caribbean by George I with a brief to quash the Republic of Pirates. Those who haunted its harbour had a straightforward choice: to receive a full “King’s Pardon”, or face the consequences. Some chose wisely. Jennings accepted the amnesty, and retired to Bermuda to run a plantation. Hornigold embraced it, turning gamekeeper to hunt down his former comrades at Rogers’s behest. There were enough refuseniks to keep him busy, too, but the sun was setting on the pirate era. Charles Vane – one of the most notorious of the Bahamas pirates – was captured off (what is now) Honduras in 1719 and swung from the gallows, at Port Royal on the south coast of Jamaica, on March 29 1721. Much has changed in the Bahamas since. But if you stroll the streets of Nassau today, you will notice merry echoes of a turbulent period. You have the Pirates of Nassau museum (piratesofnassau.com; entry from £5.50), which recreates the era in gibbets, waxworks and treasure chests. You have Pirate Republic Brewing (piraterepublicbahamas.com), where you can toast any hearties of your choosing with local beer. And you have Blackbeard’s Revenge (blackbeardsrevenge.com), a replica galleon open for dinner- and booze-cruises. Quite what Captain Teach would make of such matters – accoutrements include limbo dancers and foam machines – is very hard to say. However the problem with this is that the people who moved into britain during the 'glorious revolution' were the dutch jews, largely from amsterdam where they had created a dutch central bank and were running sugar processing plants that formed the backbone of the transatlantic slave trade. Those, i strongly suggest SABBATEAN-jews, created the dutch central bank and the dutch east india company so active in creating the age of COLONIALISM that the woke crowd so love to try and pin on 'the british'. The jews had been expelled from britain except those that became crypto-jews such as the merranos in spain. I saw a clip recently of an Israeli reporter interviewing a columbian singer at the football world cup. The israeli asked the singer if they felt there was any moral quandry with performing in a country with a poor human rights record! This was after it had been reported elsewhere that the IDF had recently shot dead 9 palestineans. So we have to ask if the chutzpah of the israeli reporter was simply a lack of self-awareness or if it is something more sinister? This sense of 'choseness' that gilad atzmon speaks about is essentially a sense of ENTITLEMENT that comes from believing that you are better than everyone else. If for example you believe that only your in-group have souls and that the rest of humanity do not and are therefore comparable to animals ('goyim' = cattle) then that can create a sense of entitlement whereby you believe that you can mistreat those people outside your in-group because ultimately their purpose is to serve you as the chosen group. My own view is that all humans are God's children and therefore ALL have inalienable rights. This is why i wouldn't support the persecution of any group of that wider human species. Important to get that caveat in there in these times of polarisation i think! Another group that exhibit that sense of aloofness is occultists who go through a process of 'initiation' whereby they believe that those who have not undergone the same process are 'profane' which is an inherently religious term. I would argue that the various initiatory orders that have proliferated in europe are being drive by the sabbatean network as part of their wider war on society to create interconnected networks of 'change agents'. Now a new book by an investigator who’s an expert in unusual deaths claims to have the answer. In an exclusive extract on The Mail+ today, Peter Faulding says he is convinced that the agent was murdered. His book, What Lies Beneath: My Life as a Forensic Search and Rescue Expert, delves into the case that became a worldwide sensation in 2010. In an attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery, he tried more than 300 times to lock himself inside a holdall in the way Mr Williams would have to have done – and failed on every occasion. ‘Not even Houdini would have been able to pull it off,’ he writes. Mr Williams worked for GCHQ and was on secondment to MI6 when he was found dead in a holdall with the zips padlocked together in the bath of his London flat. There were no fingerprints or signs of struggle, and the front door had been locked from the outside. Women’s clothing was found in the flat, and over the following months further evidence suggested a kinky sex game had gone tragically wrong. But Mr Faulding writes: ‘To be honest, it seemed implausible to me. I know people are into auto-asphyxiation and bondage, but the technicalities of what was being suggested seemed impossible. ‘I presented my thoughts to the investigation team. In my opinion Gareth was already dead when he was put in the bag.’ He adds: ‘It looked to me like someone was trying to smear him.’ An inquest found that Mr Williams’s death was ‘unnatural and likely to have been criminally mediated’.
