Macnamara Posted May 28, 2022 Author Share Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Some Rum Chat I watched the Hugo talks clip recently of the wooden 'sanctuary' temple, in the post above, that has been built by an english council for over £700,000 which is going to be burned after members of the public have hung photos inside it of loved ones who have died during the covid casedemic and it made me think of the word 'holocaust' which actually means a burned offering to the gods. I wonder if the public in that area are happy to see their council tax going up in smoke in an occult ritual? I rewatched the 2015 psychological horror film 'the invitation' recently and couldn't help seeing it with new eyes after the last two years of the covid hysteria. It felt like an allegory for the covid situation! Another movie that has been released in recent times is 'Mincemeat' which was about operation mincement in the second world war where the british sought to confuse the germans about the location of their D-day landings by tossing a dead body into the sea dressed as a naval officer with a suitcase chained to his wrist containing what was made to look like top secret sensitive information. There has been controversy since over who the body may actually have been that was used. Anyway this movie brought to mind one of muir's posts that said that he believed that jeffrey epstein had been swapped out and that someone elses dead body had been placed in his cell in his stead, just like operation mincement, so its interesting the timing of that movie. That is still the position of the pirate council; we do not believe epstein died in that prison cell and that someone elses body was swapped in. I commented on someones thread on the forum that talked about gang stalking and how the FBI carried out 'black bag' operations and had a bit of a 'mandala effect' moment when their post said that a black bag operation was when the FBI broke into someones home for intelligence gathering etc but my recollection of reading about it on wikipedia from say ten years ago is that a black bag operation was when the FBI kicked in someones door and shot them dead before placing a gun in their hand and claiming that they were trying to shoot at the FBI officers. They would then be placed in a black bag and carried to the morgue. However having checked wikipedia recently it says that a black bag operation was breaking into a targets home and that the black bag was the one they kept their lock picks in. But i remember clearly the original wikipedia page which even had a photo of a dead black panther leader that had been shot during operation cointelpro. I don't believe in the mandala effect and obviously the wikipedia page has been altered over the last decade which seems to be part of a wider sanitising of the internet which various commentators have picked up on including james corbett and truth stream media. The internet is definately changing and only state sanctioned sites come up in searches now. I find it increasingly difficult to share articles and videos that i have been sharing with people for the last decade+. I know they exist but the search engine won't bring them up. So even though i am a walking index of conspiracy content, the library where the content is has been closed off. There used to be lots of good information on wikipedia about the 'strategy of tension' and about operation gladio and about the P2 lodge scandal and how those things all intertwined but now the information is pretty basic. There is more and more noise now about food shortages which vindicates what the pirate council has been saying for years about the need for us to become self sufficient from the corporations. The manufactured scarcity of various things is clearly intended to shoe-horn us into the great reset and the new world order. I couldn't help thinking about an experiment mentioned in a 'true crimes' book i read many years ago where a colony of rats was deprived of food and it was observed that under those conditions the rats changed their behaviours. A certain percentage of rats turned criminals. Some hoarded food, some stole food from others and some turned cannibal. Chronic stress and being in a constant fear mode can alter peoples brain activity and they can switch and become more centred in the ruthless reptilian r-complex instead of the more nurturing mammalian brain. Of course criminals don't use licensed guns so gun legislation would of course only disadvantage law abiding people who went through the process of getting a license meaning that the only people that would be left with guns would be the criminals and the government who have also demonstrated themselves to be criminals. Effectively gun laws leave only the predator class armed. We can see that the push to disarm the populace across the west is coordinated because the same process rolls out across multiple countries with some sort of deep state orchestrated shooting followed by legislation disarming the law abiding citizens. In Scotland people even have to have licences for airguns now that they have owned their entire lives without any issues. What those licences do is let the government know where the guns are so that they can at some point in the future go around and confiscate them. Now if we think logically about this we can understand that if governments want the people helpless and unable to mount a resistance to the government it must LOGICALLY mean that the government intend to do SOMETHING at some point in the future that they know will upset the people so much that they would seek to protect themselves from it with guns. Obviously this would need to be something REALLY bad for it to make otherwise law abiding people so angry or afraid that they would actually take up arms against the government. So we know then that at some point the globalists are going to do something extremely bad to the general population. This thing will not be something with plausible deniability like injecting them with mRNA jabs which they can lie about and claim are there to save the public from some 'invisible enemy'. No this thing that they are going to do is going to be something that is unmistakably and openly EVIL and which would lead otherwise peaceful people to seek to try and protect themselves from it. As the democrats push for disarmament of the american populace whilst themselves spending record amounts of money on their own armaments and in arming ukrainians the 'liberals' in canada under trudeau are also looking to do the same. How long until the police in scotland simply stop allowing people to renew their airgun licences and firearms licences so that they can seize their guns? Sadly I was always too skint to be an 'early adopter' otherwise i wouldn't be about to go to work right now. I'd probably be comfortably retired! I remember a story about a guy buying something like 100 dollars of bitcoin at the beginning of the fintech craze and then forgetting he had them before rediscovering his digital wallet by which point the bitcoin had become worth over 100,000 dollars which he then used to buy an apartment in Oslo. But as a person with anarchistic leanings I was more interested in bitcoin not as a get rich quick scheme but as an alternative to the commercial banks which i had become completely sick of in the 2008 criminal wealth transfer by the globalists. Stephen Bronfman, heir to the Seagram fortune, who was instrumental in Trudeau’s successful bid for the leadership of the Canadian Liberal party in 2013 and the premiership two years later, engaged through his family investment business in a complex web of entities in the US, Israel and the Cayman Islands. Multimillion-dollar cashflows between the three jurisdictions might legally have avoided taxes in the US, Canada and Israel. The leaked documents unveil a close relationship between two wealthy families who collaborated to shift millions of dollars to the Cayman Islands. On one side were the Bronfman family, inheritors of the Seagram distillery fortune in Montreal. On the other side was the Cayman Islands-based trust of Leo Kolber, a former Canadian senator and powerhouse within the Liberal party Trudeau now leads. Accountants working for the families discussed the possibility of recasting interest owed by the Kolber trust to two US-based Bronfman funds as “services rendered”, on the basis that the loans were not “in substance (only in form)”. Tax experts say that such interest-free loans would generally be barred under US tax laws. The disclosures are likely to generate political heat for the Canadian prime minister, who swept to power in October 2015 partly on his promise to tackle economic inequality and take on tax avoidance. Bronfman runs Claridge, the Montreal-based investment firm set up by his father, Charles Bronfman, to manage the vast wealth of the Seagram liquor empire, which came to prominence in the 1920s supplying the illicit alcohol trade during US prohibition. Kolber was appointed to the Canadian senate in 1983 by Pierre Trudeau, Justin’s father, towards the end of his stint as prime minister. The tight triangle between Kolber, Bronfman and Trudeau was on display last December when a Liberal party fundraiser, at $1,500 a ticket, was held at Kolber’s Montreal home with Bronfman as co-host and Trudeau as its prize draw. Confidential emails contained in the Paradise Papers reveal that links between the Bronfman and Kolber businesses were so close they were almost intertwined. In 1991, a Kolber family trust was set up in the Cayman Islands and Leo Kolber’s son Jonathan named as one of its beneficiaries. The Bronfmans helped kickstart the Kolber trust with an injection of millions of dollars of funds, the leaked files show, including a $5.3m loan made by Stephen Bronfman personally in 1997. By then the trust was flush with almost $40m in assets. From the beginning, the arrangement between the two families over the repayment of the Bronfman loans was unusual. A contract tied to a Charles Bronfman loan in 1991 of almost $10m said: “The loan shall bear interest at such rate as may be determined between the parties from time to time.” In 2002, the Kolber trust took on an $8m debt to the Israeli offshoot of the Bronfman empire, Claridge Israel – an enterprise that, in a further sign of the close ties between the two families, Jonathan Kolber had helped set up and run after he relocated from Canada to Israel in 1991. For reasons that are unclear but do not suggest anything unlawful, the Kolber trust debt was transferred from Claridge Israel to two other Bronfman entities. The entities, Charles Bronfman Trust and Charles R Bronfman Trust, were US-based and thus liable to pay US taxes on any interest accruing, which would be treated as income. Photograph: Shaun Best/Reuters In October 2005, Jonathan Kolber fired off an 18-page fax from his business offices in Israel about the Cayman Islands trust of which he was beneficiary. He hand-wrote on the cover sheet: “CONFIDENTIAL!!” One of the documents in the fax was an email that was sent to him from a financial adviser. It noted that as a result of the switch of the debt from Claridge Israel, the Kolber trust had paid the US-based Bronfman trusts about $40,000 in interest charges. The email went on to say: “As there was never supposed to be interest paid on this debt in substance (only in form), the [Kolber trust] needs to be compensated by the Bronfman trusts for these cash outlays, in some manner to be agreed upon by both parties.” A second email from the financial adviser contained in the fax gives details of the “manner” by which the interest issue might be resolved. It records that senior Bronfman officials told Kolber that they would “‘make you whole’ somehow”. One idea floated in the email was to get Kolber to “invoice Claridge a fee for services rendered, equal to the interest which Claridge has charged to the [Kolber trust] on these loans”. The Kolber trust would then mark on its books the sums as receivable fees instead of describing them as they really were – reimbursement of the interest payments. Experts consulted by news organizations investigating the Paradise Papers said both the US and Canadian tax authorities viewed no-interest loans as red flags for potential tax avoidance schemes. Grayson McCouch, a tax professor at the University of Florida, told CBC that in his view the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) would probably want to interrogate the transactions. “If it’s done to disguise or to reverse the purported interest payments, then it could look to an observer, particularly a revenue service, like evidence of fraudulent intent,” he said Steven Rosenthal, a senior fellow at the Tax Policy Center, told the Guardian that under US tax law any loan greater than $10,000 that charged no or below-market interest rates would be assumed by the authorities to bear imputed interest that would bring it up to applicable federal levels. “The lender must report it as taxable income and pay taxes on it,” he said. The head of the international tax program at the University of Michigan, Reuven Avi-Yonah, told the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists that tax laws generally barred transactions that failed to report interest. “You can’t have interest-free loans between related parties,” he said. Jonathan Kolber stressed to CBC that he had relocated his family’s trust from the Cayman Islands to Israel a few years ago following a change in Israeli tax law. “The trust declared Israeli status and we paid back taxes and whatever they asked for,” he said. Kolber went on to deny any wrongdoing: “I’ve never broken any laws and this was all reported and so transparent, and is now an Israeli entity. This has all been declared and above board and properly handled with full transparency.” Stephen Bronfman and Leo Kolber declined to comment. A lawyer representing Jonathan Kolber and Bronfman father and son denied any improper activity on their part. He said: “None of the transactions or entities at issue were effected or established to evade or even avoid taxation. My clients have always acted properly and ethically, including fully complying with all applicable laws and requirements.” The lawyer said that the Cayman Islands trust was set up because of volatility in Israel at the time. Kolber was not liable for tax in Canada under existing law given that he no longer lived there; nor was there any tax owing in his adoptive Israel The lawyer confirmed that Stephen Bronfman did make a $5.3m loan to the Kolber trust in 1997, but said it was repaid within five months. Of the proposed reimbursement of interest from the two Bronfman trusts based in the US to the Kolber trust and the suggestion that it be portrayed as “services rendered”, the lawyer said: “No invoices were sent and nothing was paid.” He added that “non-interest-bearing loans by a US person do not violate US law”. Nobody knows how bad it could get, except the people who are creating it. Because the evidence is pretty clear, it is being deliberately & cold-bloodedly created. We’ve been documenting it for months. We have Russia’s “special operation” in Ukraine driving up the price of staple foods, wheat and sunflower oil, as well as fertiliser. We have the sudden “bird flu outbreak” driving up the price of poultry and eggs. The soaring price of oil is driving up the cost of food distribution. The inflation caused by huge influxes of fiat currency means families are spending more money on less food. And as all this is happening, the US and UK (and maybe others, we don’t know) are literally paying farmers not to farm. It’s pretty clear this is The Great Reset: Food Edition. The lockdown melody with slightly different lyrics. A process of breaking down the structures already in place so we can “build back better” with a more controlled and more corporatised food system Just as the Covid “pandemic” was said to highlight “weaknesses in the multilateral system”, so this food crisis will show that our “unstable food systems are in need of reform” and we need to ensure our “food security”…or a thousand variations on that theme. That’s not supposition. They already started, over a year ago. The Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems & Community Developments published a paper in February 2021 titled: Dismantling and rebuilding the food system after COVID-19: Ten principles for redistribution and regeneration In an interview from July last year, Ruth Richardson the Executive Director of the NGO Global Alliance for the Future of Food literally said: Our Dominant Food System Needs to Be Dismantled and Rebuilt” Later, in September 2021, the UN convened the first-ever “Food Systems Summit”, whose mission statement included the line: Rebuilding the food systems of the world will also enable us to answer the UN Secretary-General’s call to “build back better” from COVID-19. Writing in the Guardian two weeks ago, George Monbiot, weathervane for every deep state agenda, states with his trademark lack of subtlety: The banks collapsed in 2008 – and our food system is about to do the same…The system has to change. But what does “change” and “rebuilt” actually mean in this context? Well, that’s no mystery, they’ve been talking it up for years. It will mean press and politicians alike pushing the WEF’s “planetary health diet” It will mean conditioning children to eat bugs and seaweed. It will mean increased pushing of “gene-edited” or genetically modified foods. It will mean stigmatising meat-eaters whilst perpetually fluffing veganism. It will mean promoting lab-grown “meat” and bacterial slime mixed in giant vats over natural food. It will mean “carbon taxes” on red meat and imported food of all kinds. It will mean propaganda efforts to rebrand staple foods as “luxuries” Almost all of these are stories from just the past month or so, many of them talking points at the World Economic Forum’s Davos Conference. As is almost always the case, the problem to which they’re currently “reacting” already has a series of pre-ordained solutions. Just as we saw lockdowns break the economy to pieces whilst the billionaire class land record profits whilst corporate megaliths expanded their monopolies, so too will any proposed food security policies end up benefiting the already mega-rich or installing infrastructure for corporate control. They just announced the building of the largest “cultured meat factory” in the world. Fake meat, of course, can’t be raised at home and is subject to patented processes of creation. Genetically edited or modified plants and animals are likewise subject to patents. Supranational companies, with profits larger than the budget of some nations, are developing carbon footprint tracker apps which reward people for making the “right decisions”. That could easily be applied to food. Bill Gates has quietly become the largest owner of agricultural land in the United States. Land on which he can grow new Frankencrops, or which the US government will pay him not to use. The play is clear: Right now they’re getting ready to tear all our old food systems down, with the stated aim of building them back better. But better for them, not us. Bronfman “used her incredible wealth and attempted to use her social status and connections not only to support Nxivm’s work, but also as a means of intimidating, threatening, and exacting revenge upon individuals who dared to challenge its dogma,” he said. According to the NY Post, before her sentence was handed down Wednesday, nine women who were victimized by Nxivm also tore into Bronfman, calling her a “dangerous megalomaniac” and “predator.” The cult which Bronfman was found guilty of protecting was run by Keith Ranier who was convicted in June 2019 on charges of sex trafficking, forced labor, conspiracy, human trafficking and multiple counts of racketeering — including sexual exploitation of a child. Even while she was on house arrest, former victims of the cult alleged that Bronfman still went after them. “You’ve been under house arrest for two years, yet you have never stopped,” Barbara Bouchey tearfully told the court, The Associated Press reported. Showing her dedication to the cause of sex trafficking and slavery was a letter Bronfman wrote to the court last month in which she said Nxivm had “greatly changed my life for the better” and that she wouldn’t denounce its leader — who was convicted of sex trafficking, slavery and child sexual abuse. For those who don’t recall, Bronfman is the heir to the multi-billion dollar liquor fortune of Edgar Bronfman Sr, the billionaire who was formerly head of Seagram. The Bronfman family has very close ties to the Rothschild banking dynasty as well, with members of both families belonging to many of the same companies, including their joint financial firm, Bronfman & Rothschild. After her arrest in 2018, Bronfman walked free after agreeing to wear an ankle monitor and posting $100 million in bail — illustrating just how deep her pockets go. Although Bronfman is not accused of sex trafficking like the group’s leaders Keith Raniere and Allison Mack, Frank Parlato, a former NXIVM publicist-turned-whistleblower told the New York Post that Bronfman is among the harshest leaders in the organization. “She’s the enforcer — the brutal one. Clare’s running the [operation] now, and she’s the most ruthless of them. I’m issuing an absolute warning now. As TFTP reported on April 27, the majority of the funding for NXIVM, over a reported $150 million, came from the trust funds of Seagram heiresses, Sara and Clare Bronfman: Their involvement with Raniere allegedly began in 2002 and has been very public and controversial, with other members of the Bronfman family distancing themselves from the sisters in the press. Although this extremely important detail was left out of most mainstream reports, one of the main charges in the criminal indictment against Raniere and Mack was sex trafficking of children. Though Raniere was found guilty last year, Mack is currently awaiting her fate. Although Bronfman was not implicated in the child trafficking charges, given the judge’s comments on what she knew and how she supported it, it is not far-fetched to speculate that she knew about it. As TFTP has reported many times, sex offenders and their enablers all too often escape any form of actual punishment for their crimes against countless victims. In Yiddish, “Bronfman” means “liquor-man.” The family is Russian Jewish. During Canada’s prohibition (1915-19), Sam Bronfman, with brothers Abe, Harry and Alan, turned their hotel and prostitution operations into “boozeriums.” Business was brisk until 1918, when a law was passed that prohibited the manufacture or importation of alcohol. There was a loophole that permitted distribution by pharmacists of alcohol for “medicinal” purposes. The Bronfmans went into the mail order business putting labels on their whiskey such as “Rock-A-Bye Cough Cure” and Dandy Bracer–Liver and Kidney Cure; it contained sugar, molasses, bluestone, 36 percent alcohol, and tobacco. With the passage of the Volstead Act in 1919, making and drinking liquor illegal in the United States, Sam and Harry opened export houses along the Saskatchewan-North Dakota border. They reduced 65-over proof white alcohol, mixing it with water, some real whiskey and a bit of burnt sugar. A shot of sulfuric acid simulated the aging process. Their whiskey cost $24 per barrel and sold by the barrel for $140. Sam and his brothers cut distribution deals with Arnold Rothstein, Meyer Lansky, Charles “Lucky” Luciano, and Arthur ‘Dutch Schultz,’ Flegenheimer. In Detroit, the “little Jewish navy” of Morris Dalit ferried Bronfman booze into the U.S. In Chicago, “Big Jim” Colosimo alienated Bronfman by showing little interest in patronizing his liquor, preferring to focus on drugs, prostitution and loan-sharking. When Big Jim passed away suddenly, his nephew, John Torrio, took over, and soon enough, Bronfman liquor flowed into Chicago. Torrio’s lieutenant Al Capone ran Bronfman booze from Saskatchewan to Minneapolis then to Chicago using cars, trucks and the Soo line. Benjamin “Bugs” Siegel and Lansky protected Bronfman liquor shipments across the border against hijackers. To meet demand, Bronfman bought up stretches of farmland along the border and built an underground pipeline to pump “Seagram Chickencock” a mixture of pure alcohol, sulfuric acid. caramel, water and aged rye whiskey, into the USA. Between 1920 and 1930, 34.000 Americans died from alcohol poisoning. In 1924, Bronfman opened a distillery in Montreal. In 1926, the Distillery Corporation of London [DCL] owned by Field Marshal Haig, Lord Dewar, Lord Woolavington, and others, and which controlled more than half the world market in scotch whiskey, partnered with Bronfman. They formed a holding company with DCL’s William Ross as president, Sam Bronfman vice-president. Bronfman became a ‘cutout’ for the men behind DCL, and the dispensation of distribution rights was a decision made by His Majesty the King It began as a three-way contract between Britain (the supplier), Bronfman (the cutout), and Rothstein (the distributor). It evolved into a nationally organized crime syndicate. Rothstein was assigned the job of “reorganizing” crime networks. He set up syndicates on the East Coast with the help of Torrio. A special bureau was set up by Lansky and “Bugs” Siegel. Murder, Inc. was formed as a regulatory commission to police “free enterprise” advocates who might try to buck the syndicate and interfere with booze sales. After Rothstein died suddenly in 1928, Torrio had his first meeting of the syndicate in Cleveland. The third item on the agenda was what to do after Prohibition. Torrio proposed narcotics. Rothstein, Lansky, and Luciano traveled to Shanghai and Hong Kong to streamline and expand the drug trade into the United States, negotiating with Chinese drug-runners, who were pressured by the British “business community” to pull together an opium cartel expansion of Shanghai heroin into the United States. The Bronfmans created the Atlas Shipping Company and moved their smuggling operations to the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon, 15 miles off the Newfoundland coast. From Bermuda, Saint John, New Brunswick, and Belize, the Atlas Shipping Company was one of the first ties laid down in the money-drug underground railway between Canada and the Caribbean. With Bronfman’s enormous assistance, a substantial chunk of the world’s financial system became devoted to moving, laundering, and investing drug money. From the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank, to the offshore havens in the Caribbean, to the biggest banks in the United States, Britain, Canada, and Switzerland, the system revolved around drug money. With the repeal of Prohibition and with the Shanghai opium deal in operation, the Bronfmans “went legit.” The new phase of respectability signaled that the most successful big time whiskey bootleggers were switching to big time narcotics. Sam Bronfman The British realized the Bronfmans would be a liability if they continued to work as openly with their distributors in narcotics trafficking as they did running Prohibition. They could not afford to dump Bronfman. The family had become irreplaceable due to its in-depth control over the syndicates which were needed to pump drugs into America. The problem was resolved by bringing Bronfman into the lower rungs of the Hofjuden caste. Sam’s children were welcomed into the Hofjuden elite by intermarriage. Almost overnight, the Rothschilds, Montefiores, de Hirsches et al took “Mr. Sam”, the crime czar of North America, and transformed him into a rising star of the Canadian Zionist movement. In 1934, Sam was made chairman of the National Jewish People’s Relief Committee in Canada. By 1939, he was appointed head of Baron de Hirsch’s Jewish Colonization Association. The Canadian Pacific Corporation invited Sam to establish a refugee organization for Eastern European Jews. He became head of the Canadian Jewish Committee. After World War II, Sam established the National Conference of Israeli and Jewish Rehabilitation. The “legitimate” enterprises the Bronfmans moved into were inter-meshed with companies controlled by leading opium traders. Using the name of the distillery he had purchased, Sam founded Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. Despite the fact he built Seagrams with his brothers, Sam decided the business was his alone. He forced his brothers out and declared that only his sons, Edgar and Charles, would work for Seagram. Bronfman expanded Seagram to sell in 150 countries, his operations constituting the largest liquor distribution system in world history. Wherever Seagram branches appeared on the map, they were intermeshed with narcotics runners. Seagram acquired West Indies distilleries which would introduce Captain Morgan, Myers’s, Woods, and Trelawny labels. Seagram purchased Chivas [Regal] Mumm’s Champagne, Perrior-Jouet Champagne, Barton & Guestier, Augier Frères, Paul Masson vineyards and distribution rights to Absolut vodka. Seagrams invested in the Alberta-based oil company, Royalite. He purchased the Frankfort Oil Company and expanded Tropicana Products with the purchase of the beverage operations of Dole Food Co. His son, Edgar, married Ann Loeb, daughter of Loeb, Rhoades. and Co. in 1953, bringing the Bronfmans into Wall Street. They had five children together – Samuel, Edgar Jr., Holly, Matthew, and Adam. In 1957, Edgar became Seagram’s president. In 1963, Seagram acquired the Texas Pacific Coal and Oil Company. Frankfort and Texas Pacific were merged to form Texas Pacific Oil Company, Inc. In 1969, Sam was made a Knight of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of St. John of Jerusalem – Her Majesty’s official chivalric order. He won the Order of Canada – the country’s highest honor for lifetime achievement. In 1971, at age of 81, the old murderer turned knight, Sam Bronfman died of prostate cancer. On the day of his funeral, Montreal’s airport had to be temporarily closed to regular traffic due to the arrival of so many private jets shuttling in dignitaries from around the world to pay their respects. Edgar assumed family leadership. In 1975, Edgar married Rita Webb who gave birth to Sara and Clare Bronfman. In 1978, Bronfman wealth was estimated to be about $7 billion [$28 billion in 2018 dollars]. Edgar became president of the World Jewish Congress in 1981 and decided that his son, Edgar Jr., would be his business successor. Seagram purchased 15 percent interest in Time Warner Inc. for $2.2 billion. In the mid-1990s, Bronfman, Jr. sold Seagram’s stake in DuPont receiving $11 billion. Seagram acquired 84 percent of MCA, Inc. for $5.7 billion. MCA – whose name Seagram changed to Universal Studios, Inc. – included Universal Pictures film studios, MCA Television Group, MCA Music Entertainment Group, Universal theme parks, and Spencer Gifts. In 1997, Seagram divested its holdings in Time Warner, ending up with a profit of $2.13 billion. Seagram then purchased USA Networks. In 1998, Seagram sold its juice business to Pepsi for $3.3 billion. In 2000, Edgar Jr. exchanged his family’s entire firm – booze, music labels, TV production contracts, U.S. theme parks and all – for $34 billion in stock in Vivendi, a French sewer and filtration outfit intent on transforming itself into a global entertainment conglomerate. Edgar, Jr. was named executive vice president of Vivendi Universal. But Vivendi CEO Jean-Marie Messier did not make good on his promise to merge the two companies into a media giant. Instead, he made a number of deals that drove the share price down to a fraction of what it was when Vivendi acquired Seagram. All told, on this one deal, the Bronfman family lost about two-thirds of the fortune accumulated since Sam and his brothers’ bootlegging and murder days in the 1920s. In 2004, Edgar Jr. trying to make a comeback put together a group of investors to buy the music operations of Time Warner Inc. Sadly, it was another boneheaded investment. The traditional industry’s survival depended on selling $20 CDs, not $1 downloads. Power shifted from retailers to fans. Along the way, Bronfman turned down EMI’s offer to buy Warner for $31 a share. In 2011, Access Industries bought the failing Warner Music Group from Bronfman for $8.25 a share. Most of what remained of the Bronfman family money was lost in this deal. On December 22, 2013, Edgar Bronfman Sr. died at age 84. His personal net worth was estimated to be several billion which was divided up by his seven children and wife. Sara and Clare, who had already borrowed against their inheritance, got an estimated $250-$300-million each. It’s hard to imagine that under Keith Raniere’s guidance, they have increased their net worth.They blew through their first trust fund before their father died. In early 2005, they began covering Raniere’s losses in the commodities market. From January 2005 to late 2007, Raniere, trading through First Principles, Inc., a company registered in Nancy Salzman’s name, would lose close to $70 million—and the Bronfmans would cover $65.6 million of it. By late 2007, they sunk $26.4 million into a Los Angeles real-estate project that ran amok. They also spent an estimated $50 million in lawyers on litigation against Raniere’s enemies. They have lost almost every lawsuit. Edgar and Sam Bronfman *** It has been said that, despite their wealth, the Bronfman family were, in terms of global power, only front men. Cut-outs, whose main purpose was to provide cover for the criminal activity of those much higher up the financial food chain. Over three generations, the Bronfmans – mainly through Edgar Jr., – lost most of their ill-gotten wealth. The comparatively small share inherited by Clare and Sara – has been spent in out-sized proportion to enable Keith Raniere to punish and hurt thousands of human beings. In this, they are much like their grandfather, cut outs for Raniere – able to hurt others enormously with each dollar they spend. And they foolishly squandered money like Edgar Jr. guided by the self proclaimed world’s smartest man – Keith Raniere. Macnamara Posted June 7, 2022 Author Share Posted June 7, 2022 State Coercion Things that the state have coerced us or are trying to pressure us through harassment into doing so far in the last year: -Get a TV licence (we don't own a TV) -Get multiple experimental mRNA jabs -Get dozens of vaccines for our children -Install wireless or hard-wired smoke alarms and heat detectors throughout our home -Fill in a census -Renew an airgun licence (now you can only own airguns by the leave of the government who can revoke that at anytime) -Road tax -Jury duty (ok juries are important but still...its one more thing...) It's just one thing after another.....just constant harassment by the state who seem unable to leave people alone. Instead they seem intent on bleeding us dry for taxes on everything that they can then waste on their various 'initiatives'. Pryce’s Counter Disinformation unit has been cloaked behind a veil of near-total secrecy since its inception. Mason and Pryce sketched a blueprint for an information warfare outfit funded “through cut-outs” and modeled after the notorious Integrity Initiative. Mason pitched a “Putin Proxy Watch” project guided by “info war experts” to attack “bad actors” in the UK. Mason calls for suspending UK libel law to smear targets, special effects-driven project to sensationalize Russian atrocities. Researcher Emma Briant advised Mason on his leftist target list, proposing adding independent outlet Declassified UK. Mason proposed astroturfed “black and Asian voices” project to push back on Black and brown critics of Ukraine proxy war. Mason revealed his participation in upcoming BBC assault on Stop The War Coalition. On June 7th, The Grayzone revealed how British journalist Paul Mason planned to wage all-out war on anti-imperialist and left-wing academics, activists, campaign groups, independent journalists and media sites – and particularly this outlet. Since the conflict in Ukraine erupted, Mason has aggressively assailed any prominent figure calling for a diplomatic resolution or opposing NATO escalation, authoring columns advocating for government censorship of facts and viewpoints he perceives to be insufficiently anti-Kremlin, and demanding “state action” against media personalities that oppose NATO expansion. Since The Grayzone revealed that Mason has also been operating through covert channels to sabotage his leftist targets, a question lingers: is the British celebrity journalist purely a freelancer, building a clandestine informal coalition of fellow travelers to undermine and ostracize his perceived enemies on his own initiative, or are his activities influenced by shadowy state actors? An answer lies in leaked private communications between Mason and Amil Khan, chief of intelligence contractor Valent Projects, in which the pair propose individuals to invite to an anti-Grayzone summit, where this outlet’s “relentless deplatforming” and a “full nuclear legal” assault to “to squeeze [it] financially” was to be plotted. In the email, Mason can be seen asking Khan to invite a “friend” from the Foreign Office, who “may be the same as my friend” within the department. He clearly did not want to name his friend “without permission.” Such obfuscation implies his government contact’s role – and thus their identity – is top secret, to the extent it must be protected by default even from an intelligence agency-adjacent, veteran government psy-ops contractor like Khan, who maintains links with the National Security Council. In his correspondences with Emma Briant, a self-styled academic propaganda expert, Mason is far less guarded. On April 7th, he shared his elaborate “networks of influence” map with Briant, cautioning that “obviously this is confidential.” He added that he “offered it to Andy but he’s not getting back to me.” Mason was referring to Andy Pryce, the head of the British Foreign Office’s Counter Disinformation and Media Development (CDMD) unit, which was founded in April 2016 to “counter-strike against Russian propaganda.” In 2020, he moved to London’s Mission to the EU (UKREP), to serve as its its Head of Public Diplomacy. It seems likely he now serves in the Foreign Office’s newly-founded Counter Disinformation Unit – an apparent rebrand of the CDMD. Little information about Pryce is publicly available, and the CDMD has been similarly cloaked behind a veil of almost total secrecy for much of its existence. In fact, the presence of the shadowy unit within the UK Foreign Office was not public until two years after its launch. Subsequent Freedom of Information requests seeking clarity on the nature and scope of the CDMD’s role, and even its staff size, were denied on the grounds of national security. This informational deficit is understandable given that CDMD is staffed by intelligence operatives. Under Britain’s “Fusion Doctrine,” a merging of all government “levers” to enhance London’s economic, security, and political objectives, spying agencies are given chief responsibility for identifying and battling “disinformation.” It was not until December 2018 that the CDMD was discussed in the open by British officials. For the first time, the UK government acknowledged the unit was effectively run out of the National Security Council, a veritable den of spooks. Its program summary for 2020-21 shows important data relating to its budget has been redacted on the basis of “national security.” The official parliamentary disclosures of the CDMD’s existence were triggered by the 2018 leak of incriminating files related to Integrity Initiative, a cloak-and-dagger Foreign Office information warfare operation staffed by former military and intelligence professionals. Pryce featured prominently in documents related to this operation. Those files showed Integrity Initiative maintained clandestine “clusters” throughout Europe and North America, covert networks of journalists, academics, pundits, politicians and security officials, through which ceaseless black propaganda about enemy states such as China and Russia, and individuals including then-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, could be spread with damaging real-world effects. The organization and individuals connected to the Integrity Initiative were overly fond of the phrase “useful idiots,” liberally applying the Cold War sobriquet to anyone attracting their Foreign Office-funded ire. Their targets included Corbyn, left-wing politicians, anti-war activists, independent media outlets, White Helmets critics, Scottish nationalists, and those skeptical of official narratives around events such as MH17’s downing and the Salisbury incident. It is therefore chilling that many of these same elements appear in Mason’s manic “mind map” of his enemies on the UK left, which can be seen below. Even more disturbing is the likelihood that such smears might spell out intended targets in the working blueprint for a malicious information warfare operation. Pryce and Mason sketch blueprints for Integrity Initiative 2.0 On March 5th of this year, Andy Pryce emailed Paul Mason with a bare outline of a proposal for an astroturfed civil society organization that would serve as “the major, forward leaning player in the information war.” Inspired by a “Ukrainian friend and colleague,” the UK Foreign Office hand branded his project the “International Information Brigade ” (IBB). Two days earlier, Pryce boasted of engineering YouTube’s recent ban on “Russian stuff.” Ministers have confirmed the Counter Disinformation Unit (CDU) where Pryce is likely posted was responsible for the ban, and added that it was “working closely” with social media platforms to ensure the rapid removal of “disinformation and coordinated inauthentic or manipulated behaviour.” The CDU is staffed by Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence “experts in assessment and analysis, disinformation, and behaviour and attitudinal change.” Pryce maintains multiple high-level contacts in Kiev. Integrity Initiative had an intense interest in the country, where it maintained intimate ties with the armed forces and intelligence services, and worked closely with organizations and media outlets fomenting hatred of ethnic Russian minorities and encouraging Holocaust revisionism. These outfits include StopFake, which has previously received significant Foreign Office financing. In a March email to Mason, Pryce wrote that IIB would maintain “contacts into government [but] not [be] controlled by government,” and be “the beneficiary of intelligence but also help guide governments [and] funded by a collective from like minded Western countries – perhaps through cut outs.” Mason was intrigued by the proposal, asking if its existence would be public, and if so, “would it be high profile or white label?” Either way, he warned it would become a “target,” and advised that a “matrioshka approach,” or Russian nesting doll-style masking strategy, be adopted. If the “real” IIB “was a private core of committed people,” he advised Pryce, “you could be far more effective.” In subsequent exchanges, Mason reiterated his caution, declaring “the core/periphery has to be done right otherwise you end up with the same problem as Statecraft” – a reference to the Institute for Statecraft, Integrity Initiative’s parent “charity.” “The opposition are not stupid, they can spot an info op – so the more this is designed to be organic the better,” Mason added. Still, the journalist’s imagination was clearly running wild at the prospect of IIB’s creation, particularly given it would be able to do things “media and organic networks could not.” Examples he cited included “pixelated use of prisoner videos,” which mainstream news outlets typically refrain from showing, and which the Red Cross urges against. Mason also proposed “doxxing” Russian social media personalities, releasing the names and personal data of Russian military and intelligence officials, publishing data scraped from their Facebook profiles. Finally, he pitched a malicious project called “Putin Proxy Watch”, which would track “the memes, themes and talking points from their source to bad actors” in Britain. “Everything would have to be effects based – and guided by infowar experts,” Mason salivated. “One of the biggest problems will be the libel laws, which I would argue should be suspended for foreign agents.” Mason’s sinister spider’s web of perceived Kremlin assets clearly demonstrates that he views much of the British left to be witting or unwitting purveyors or consumers of Russian disinformation. Thus, his “Putin Proxy Watch” would almost inevitably amount to routine defamation of innocent people as treasonous fifth columnists – simply because they expressed the “wrong” opinion on matters of war and peace. Self-styled disinformation researcher Emma Briant consulted on Paul Mason’s map of Russian-influenced leftist organizations Emma Briant defames Declassified UK as ‘important element’ of Russian influence network Mason reinforced the paranoid quality of his map of the UK left in communications with Emma Briant, an academic propaganda and disinformation researcher. In response to Mason’s previously mentioned April 7th email, Briant expressed surprise that Declassified UK, an independent media outlet founded by British historian Mark Curtis and investigative journalist Matt Kennard, was missing from the target list. “Maybe they aren’t obvious to place,” she speculated. Mason countered, saying he could not decide whether Declassified UK was “pernicious,” as he did not “see them regularly quoted by the bad actors.” He added, however, that British media outlet openDemocracy represented “people not to trust,” on the basis its contributors “have been remarkably not interested in the Ukraine war,” and “a lot of the people they have writing for them are peace types.” Briant went on to express her view that while “some” Declassified UK journalists were “not bad,” and note the outlet had “put out an important statement against Russian invasion of Ukraine,” other reporters were “long term involved in defending Russia and pushing its line on Syria” and therefore represented enemies within. “They are close to Wikileaks and it’s [sic] nexus, it’s been pushing the ‘Russiagate’ stuff, trolling Carole and discouraging people from reading the Guardian…which is an important dimension of this [emphasis added],” she fulminated in an April 8, 2022 email. It is unclear precisely who those “others” were, or how they had in any way furthered the Kremlin’s propaganda line. Over the years, Declassified UK has published numerous articles critical of the governments of Syria and Russia, and has consistently condemned Moscow’s actions in Ukraine. Neither the website’s output nor any of its contributors could conceivably be accused of the mildest Kremlin sympathies, nor even being unconscious components of a “pro-Russia network” in Britain, no matter how small. But by publishing substantive challenges to the slanted and misleading reporting of the Guardian’s Russia-obsessed correspondent Carole Cadwalladr, Declassified apparently wound itself up on the enemies list of one of Mason’s key allies. Mason pitches Soros funding appeal, disses Greece’s Syriza In the April 8 email (see above), Mason and Briant also discussed how to solicit funding from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) of liberal oligarch George Soros. In 1991, the Washington Post placed Soros at the heart of a network of “overt operators” which assisted the CIA and intel fronts like the National Endowment for Democracy in carrying out “spyless coups” in the former Soviet sphere. Indeed, the billionaire’s foundation was an obvious example of the kind of funding “cut out” suggested by Pryce. British intelligence specializes in the tactic of cut-outs. In April 2021, following the closure of the controversial Quilliam Foundation “anti-extremism” think tank, journalist Ian Cobain revealed how the organization’s budget publicly appeared to flow from a “Middle Eastern benefactor,” but was in reality “channeled” by MI6. A decision to eventually grant overt government funding to Quilliam was later judged to be a huge mistake, compromising its legitimacy from day one. “Should have run it from within the agencies. They do this sort of stuff all the time. And you never find out,” an intelligence source told Cobain. Mason said he had intended to ask openDemocracy co-founder Mary Fitzgerald about routes to securing OSF “resources,” but then recalled she was a close friend of Greek economist and statesman Yanis Varoufakis, formerly of the left-wing Syriza. Why this deterred Mason is anyone’s guess, particularly given he at one point claimed to champion Syriza. Still determined to solicit OSF sponsorship, he asked whether Briant knew anyone else they could approach. Mason targets leftists branding Ukraine “racist,” clamors for “Black and Asian voices to support Ukraine” Evidently, Mason’s intelligence-driven crusade against the left knows no limits. In his mind, it seems that anyone failing to toe the establishment line is a legitimate target for censorship and smearing. His feverish state of mind was on full display in an email to Andy Pryce, dated March 2nd, in which Mason melted down about Twitter influencers pointing out the racial double standards in Western pro-Ukraine hoopla. Included in Mason’s email are screen-grabs of tweets by renowned pro-Palestinian musician Lowkey, journalist Matt Kennard, British-Bolivian journalist Ollie Vargas, and Black Alliance for Peace, among others. Mason went on to detail a multi-part conspiracy theory of how such an idea could proliferate, and asked Pryce, “how to respond?” before spitballing a few potential resolutions. “Black and Asian voices to support Ukraine outright – not just talking about refugee issues,” Mason demanded. “Map and verify the origins of the meme and the involvement of proxies like Ollie Vargas. Punch back with facts and arguments?” Ollie Vargas, a correspondent for the Bolivia-based Kawsachun News, responded indignantly to Mason’s characterization of him as a “proxy.” “My work is 100% focussed on Latin America,” Vargas commented to The Grayzone, “ and I’ve only ever made a few passing comments on Russia/Ukraine, and only when the conflict first broke out. It’s yet another sign of Mason’s dangerously paranoid mind that he thinks I’m a ‘proxy’ for anyone involved in an issue that has nothing to do with my work or personal life. Fortunately, I live in a country outside the reach of the intelligence services he seems so keen to mobilize against those he disagrees with.” Based on other communications, “facts and arguments” are clearly not on Mason’s agenda. In fact, his coping mechanism for dealing with each and every detractor that comes his way is apparently to urge state operatives to silence them. Mason claims part in Finland’s NATO application, previews BBC assault on Stop The War Numerous emails viewed by The Grayzone consist of discussions between Paul Mason and Andy Pryce about meeting up at London pubs to “operationalise stuff” and plot against their shared leftist enemies. One such communication, dated May 12 and sent to Pryce under the subject line, “Catch up!” reads like a greatest hits of Mason’s recent activities and accomplishments. In the email, Mason celebrated the failure of the “Stalinist left” to disrupt the political momentum for massive arms shipments to Ukraine, while simultaneously predicting that “the gas goes off and the food goes short” as a direct result of the war’s escalation. He then boasted to Pryce that he’d had “a bit to do with” Finland’s NATO application, claiming he was “working on a ‘left’ shadow Strategic Concept that is hawkish on military, but defensive only on geopolitics and nukes.” Mason also mentioned that Amil Khan and himself were “trying to put together a complaint against Grayzone, that might trigger some investigations on the official side into their funding.” Next, Mason highlighted his participation in a production by BBC producer Chloe Hadjimatheou on the “disinfo tactics” of the Stop The War Coalition, a prominent British grassroots antiwar organization connected to the Socialist Workers’ Party. Led by Hadjimatheou, the BBC released a radio program this June which claimed to track how “academics, journalists and celebrities have shared misinformation in their attempts to raise questions about the official narrative” of the Ukraine conflict. This may explain @paulmasonnews participation in the @BBCRadio4 hit job on two academics. He conspired with @chloehadj to introduce a right wing attempt at academic cancel culture. It would be entirely unsurprising if the network’s attack piece represented the International Information Brigade’s first broadside in the public sphere. As subsequent investigations will show, the Mason’s fingerprints – as well as those of British intelligence – were all over the BBC’s assault on dissident academics. Explosive Report Confirms Expansive CIA 'Stealth Network' Of Spies & Commandos Inside Ukraine by Tyler Durden Monday, Jun 27, 2022 - 12:00 AM A fresh New York Times report has confirmed what many already suspected - that the CIA is still very active inside Ukraine - especially with training as well coordinating weapons among its Ukrainian allies. The Times report details "a stealthy network of commandos and spies rushing to provide weapons, intelligence and training," based on US and European intelligence officials with knowledge of the operations. The report says Ukrainian forces are reliant on this Western clandestine network "more than ever" while outgunned by the Russians. This comes months after investigative journalist Zach Dorfman's bombshell expose in Yahoo News which detailed how a prior 8-year long CIA covert program to train Ukrainian fighters helped provoke the Russian invasion. The only question that remained after that March report was the extent to which the CIA was still active in the ongoing fight against the invading Russians. The new Times reporting confirms that the US program is not only active and ongoing, but appears larger in scale than previously thought given the CIA's close cooperation with the Ukrainians is happening both inside and outside the country, across multiple locations. "Much of this work happens outside Ukraine, at bases in Germany, France and Britain, for example. But even as the Biden administration has declared it will not deploy American troops to Ukraine, some C.I.A. personnel have continued to operate in the country secretly, mostly in the capital, Kyiv, directing much of the vast amounts of intelligence the United States is sharing with Ukrainian forces, according to current and former officials," the report indicates. It appears much the CIA's work in Ukraine is centered on coordinating intelligence with local intel services and counterparts. "Few other details have emerged about what the C.I.A. personnel or the commandos are doing, but their presence in the country — on top of the diplomatic staff members who returned after Russia gave up its siege of Kyiv — hints at the scale of the secretive effort to assist Ukraine that is underway and the risks that Washington and its allies are taking," NY Times continues. Over the weekend, Canada also has been reported to have special operations troops inside Ukraine. This was reported months ago, but with a separate NYT report offering further confirmation. "Both CTV and Global News reported in late January that Canadian special forces had been sent to Ukraine, but National Defence did not comment on that deployment," Ottawa Citizen writes Sunday. Back in January, a full two months before the invasion, Yahoo News disclosed the following: The CIA is overseeing a secret intensive training program in the U.S. for elite Ukrainian special operations forces and other intelligence personnel, according to five former intelligence and national security officials familiar with the initiative. The program, which started in 2015, is based at an undisclosed facility in the Southern U.S., according to some of those officials. The CIA-trained forces could soon play a critical role on Ukraine’s eastern border, where Russian troops have massed in what many fear is preparation for an invasion. The U.S. and Russia started security talks earlier this week in Geneva but have failed thus far to reach any concrete agreement. While the covert program, run by paramilitaries working for the CIA’s Ground Branch — now officially known as Ground Department — was established by the Obama administration after Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea in 2014, and expanded under the Trump administration, the Biden administration has further augmented it, said a former senior intelligence official in touch with colleagues in government. These details further seems to authenticate those voices which have been insisting NATO and Russia are in fact waging a proxy war inside Ukraine, a label which Biden administration officials have previously sought to deny and downplay. For some non white people they may cheer unchecked immigration into the west as they may wish for their environment to become less white but i would argue that they should pause to consider that the same people pushing this whole covid scamdemic are the same people who are behind the great replacement and if you think those people are doing all these things for the good of workers (of all skin colours) then i have some prime swamp land to sell you!! By Stephen Glover for the Daily Mail Published: 01:13 BST, 30 June 2022 | Updated: 02:02 BST, 30 June 2022 Some extraordinary figures about population growth were published on Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics, though they attracted very little comment from the BBC or much of the mainstream media. Between 2011 and 2021, the population of England and Wales grew by a staggering 3.5 million, or about 6.6 per cent. Since during this period net migration was usually running at over 200,000 a year, and occasionally at more than 300,000, the main cause of the rapid expansion isn't hard to fathom. Most of the population growth took place in the South-East, parts of London (up 22.1 per cent in Tower Hamlets, though there was a 9.6 per cent decline in Kensington and Chelsea) and Eastern England, where it rose by a whopping 8.3 per cent. Imagine a city the size of Nottingham. Then one as big as Bristol. Add Birmingham. Then Manchester and Liverpool. Pop in Sheffield while you are at it. The combined population of these great cities roughly equates to the increase in the population of England and Wales that has taken place during a mere ten years. Is it any wonder that vast tracts of the country, particularly in the already congested South and East, are being built and Tarmac-ed over to accommodate a surge in population growth, most of it driven by immigration? Should we be surprised by the dire shortage of houses when, according to the excellent MigrationWatch whose forensic analysis is unparalleled, at least half the demand for new homes is accounted for by immigration? Nor need we look very far to explain the pressure on schools, hospitals and GP surgeries which millions of us have experienced first-hand in most parts of the country. The decade that saw a population increase of 6.6 per cent was also a decade of austerity and government cutbacks. Some people may say that I am referring to the pre-Brexit past. One of the main purposes of leaving the European Union was to get back control of our borders so that immigration could be regulated and controlled. Yes, we have indeed 'taken back control'. The Government is in charge of our borders. But although there are no authoritative up-to-date figures, partly due to the pandemic, it is possible, if not likely, that immigration is running at near record levels. In the year ending June 2021, net migration — i.e. the difference between those leaving the country and those arriving — was 239,000. That number was probably slightly limited by the effects of Covid. Nevertheless, it was still higher than the net migration figure for 2012 or 2013. We won't know the Office for National Statistics net migration figure for the 12 months ending June 2022 until later in the year, but it is a fair bet that it will be considerably higher than that of a year ago. According to separate Home Office statistics, visas were handed out in profusion in 2021 — 432,279 for students, 280,776 for family visas and 239,987 for work. Overall, EU migration has declined sharply as a proportion of the whole since Brexit, while non-EU migration has risen very significantly. What strikes me as odd is that there has been almost no public discussion about apparently soaring levels of legal immigration, given that before the EU referendum in 2016 there was so much agonising over the issue. By contrast, the Government is very exercised about the number of asylum seekers crossing the Channel in small boats, and plans to send some of them to Rwanda if it is able to face down the interfering European Court of Human Rights, and persuade our own judges that it is not inhumane to transport them. The Government is, of course, right to be concerned by cross-Channel migration. The numbers are by no means insignificant: 28,526 people are known to have crossed in small boats last year, and there could be as many as 50,000 this year. Moreover, this is an evil trade orchestrated by ruthless people-smugglers who, by putting asylum seekers in unseaworthy boats, expose them to the risk of capsizing and drowning. So it is a big issue. The wonder, though, is that so much time and energy are spent debating about asylum seekers while few people have noticed the growing numbers of legal migrants that are arriving in this country. These are certain to put further pressure on our already crumbling public services, as well as housing, where the Government seems unlikely to meet its manifesto target of building an additional 300,000 homes a year by the mid-2020s. I naturally don't dispute that there are labour shortages which foreign, increasingly non-EU, workers are happy to fill. Despite some Remainer-inspired propaganda, under the Government's new points-based system it is easy for employers to recruit workers abroad for jobs that are relatively poorly paid. Meanwhile, our universities, some of which are extremely mediocre, are doing their utmost to attract as many foreign students as possible, more than a quarter of whom are Chinese. The business model of these reputed centres of learning relies on their attracting many thousands of students from abroad. Believe it or not, about 30 per cent of students at one university, namely Liverpool, are Chinese. But what may be good for businesses happy to recruit industrious foreign workers, or for universities dependent on students from abroad, is not necessarily in the best interests of our already overcrowded island. In many parts of England, people are fed up with overstretched, underfunded public services, and they don't want to see further swathes of their neighbourhoods concreted over. In particular, the Government has seemingly given up on people who, while not officially categorised as being unemployed despite often receiving welfare payments, could be encouraged back into the labour market through a judicious combination of carrot and stick. There are reckoned to be several million of them. But it is much easier for employers to dip into the limitless pool of ambitious and industrious workers who will cheerfully cross the world for a decent, though not necessarily very well-paid, job than it is to attract the long-term underemployed. Four days after the June 2016 referendum, a prominent politician doubted in his newspaper column whether 'those who voted Leave were mainly driven by anxieties about immigration'. It was, of course, Boris Johnson. If he was attempting to play down the importance to many Leave voters of regaining control of our own borders, I fear that he was much mistaken, possibly fatally so. Would it be too cynical to suggest that the Government welcomes the kind of displacement that is taking place? People are encouraged to believe that it is grappling with the problem of the Channel crossings while it is, in fact, ignoring the more alarming wider picture. The Government may be able to get away with it for a while, but sooner or later what is really happening will begin to sink in. If net migration exceeds pre-Brexit levels over the next few years, as it seems on course to do, there may be hell to pay with voters. The 165 mile (265 km) long superhighway network, dubbed Project Skyway, has today been given the go-ahead from the government. It will involve a number of ground-based sensors being installed which will guide the connected drones safely through 'corridors' to their destinations. The network will connect airspace above cities including Reading, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Coventry, and Rugby. The plans were proposed by a consortium led by software provider Altitude Angel alongside BT. The group hopes the superhighway will 'unlock the huge potential offered by unmanned aerial vehicles.' It remains unclear how much the network will cost to be set up, but the team aim to have the full superhighway in place by June 2024. This technology was developed back in 2020 in a five-mile flight corridor just south of Reading. It feeds automated instructions to the unmanned drones to keep them away from others or change path if they're in danger of crashing. DAA only requires basic technical integrations and does not require specialist hardware on-board the drone, meaning it an be utilised by a range of businesses. Drones currently cannot be flown without a human pilot except in specific circumstances. The Skyway is intended to allow manufacturers to connect their pilotless drone's guidance and communication systems into a 'virtual superhighway'. Once connected, the system will take over and guide the drones safely through 'corridors' to their destinations, using only a software integration. This is possible because it uses ground-based, powerful sensors to provide the guidance, so the drones themselves do not need them onboard and increasing their payload. Altitude Angel will install 29 'Arrow Towers' – the technology which allows the flights to operate safe and securely in unrestricted airspace.
