Suggest a separate forum topic for all things flat earth

So they can put all their 'space doesn't exist' and 'flat earth ' threads in one place then topics such as space and universe don't get immediately spammed by this stuff. And then if you want to ignore it you just ignore that whole part of the forum. And if you want to look at what most of us consider fringe at least it's apparent it's considered fringe...allowed obviously but not representative. That way perhaps it becomes a waste of shills time as they're not disrupting everyone and leaves those topics for those whom this stuff is a very real issue ? Peoples natural order of reading is top down and newest first and these flat earth topics are hijacking attention.

Recently I was browsing discord servers and it's crazy how many there are tagged with FLAT-EARTH!?

Maybe all those interested in this topic can go over there? Flat Earth Official server has more than 900 online members.

https://disboard.org/servers/tag/flat-earth

It'd be weird not having a thread on such a major (distraction) topic. It needs its own place here I think. David has allowed flat earth news items on his page so that should be our lead. It has a voice it should be heard. But I'm not sure people need to see it cropping up in multiple other areas .

Just my thoughts. I think itd sort out paid shills from true followers

Yes, I agree with your suggestion. I was just caught flat-footed when I saw how many servers/flat-earthers there are. Mods/Admin make a separate place, and that's flat!

(now I'm reading all these English idioms related to flat)  😆

There is already a thread for this topic:

But the way things are going, it is going to get closed down, because it has just degenerated into arguments and bickering.

Classic 'divide-and-rule' distraction techniques if you ask me.

If people want to sensibly debate this kind of stuff, the Flat Earth Society has its own forum:

https://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php

And there also is: https://forum.tfes.org/

With all that is going on in the world right now, with regards to our liberties, rights and freedoms being taken away from us quite willingly, it beats me why so many people are single-mindedly focused on trying to 'spread the word' and convince others that the Earth is a flat disc instead of a 'globe'.

If people want to waste their time and energy trying to debate people on this subject, then that's their choice, as far as I am concerned.

As a volunteer moderator, with only a few hours spare a day, I could do without the disruption to be honest. And part of me thinks that is part of the 'game', with people trolling a forum to waste moderators' time and energy.

So no, I don't think having a dedicated category/section for this Flat Earth stuff is a good idea, there is one thread already and all discussion on the subject should stay in that thread. This is after all the 'David Icke Forum', not the 'Flat Earth Forum'.

Sorry I meant a separate section. At the bottom...tucked away. Stick the nasa lies and any other crap they come up with in there.

What I meant and was trying to be polite is ......can we not have obvious flat earth topics in the nature of reality and space and universe sections? Can we remove them .They dominate those areas with dross. And new people must wonder what's going on

@Grumpy Owl You should not delete that thread, as people put time an effort exposing the lies & thats when the trolling begins to shut down real debate.

Then they will just spring up again, rinse & repeat..tell a lie enough times. Goebbellian level.

Best what KJ suggests & other forums do a twlightzone, where they can share opinions without the rest of the forum having to see.

I have no intention of deleting that thread, but I am considering 'locking' it for a couple of days, so people there can calm down a bit.

Other forum softwares have the ability for members to choose to 'ignore' boards and/or topics, if that can be implemented here then that would be the 'solution'.

Will flat earth still be available for non members to read?

Well it had been banned from being discussed on the forum but now it can be and is discussed (albeit in the Members Only section) .... but discussed is the wrong word.

It is not discussed and that is and has been the problem with all and any FE threads .... there is no actual discussion!

I have researched both Flat Earth and Ball Earth concepts (even though I consider both incorrect) and the problem would seem to be (as can be shown within EVERY FE thread) .... Those who consider this place Flat seem to know very little about the idea and just will not answer any questions .... but just post memes and videos made by others to 'show the knowledge' they believe that they have!

The Braveheart scene always comes to mind .... "Just answer the fucking question!"

So .... it will be within the Members Only section and if those who consider FE correct consider that as censorship because their memes and videos are not within the Guest readers gaze .... and they actually don't wish to discuss the subject in their own words (from the research they have done) .... then perhaps they may wish to learn about the subject and actually present a case for it!
