pete675 Posted October 9, 2023 Share Posted October 9, 2023 According to the Guardian's description of the attack on the Supernova festival : "Fifty terrorists arrived in vans, dressed in military uniforms.” Does seem most unlike the Palestinians who - despite all the endless propaganda hype - have always been very amateurish at this sort of thing. The fact that 3 or 4 commanding officers of elite/special forces units have got themselves killed also strikes me as odd. We should remember that the real powers regard ordinary Israelis as completely expendable and that 'deep state' will do anything if the stakes are high enough. Israel has claimed the attack by Hamas as “The Darkest Day in history.” Each day another 100 victims are added to their death toll, now alleged to have reached 900, which is still eclipsed by September 11th 2001 and the ‘Shock & Awe’ which followed. Then there was the tsunami in Banda Aceh which killed over 200.000 people. Not dark enough? I can go back further, how about the Rwandan genocide, or Pol Pot’s regime? Maybe even Hiroshima and two world wars or the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Further? Culloden, or the Bubonic Plague. I could go on, but you catch my drift. BBC Radio 4's "Start the Week", aired 3 days after the attack on Israel, broadcast a program on Israel that had been scheduled weeks earlier, though obviously the program had to change its' focus to the attack. Interestingly, the show wasn't especially biased, and one interviewee did criticise the Israeli government, accusing them of enforcing apartheid, amongst other things.
