Church is a concept which has been created after the fact. Jesus could not have used the word Church because there was no concept of it nor word for it in Aramaic. As for what that Aramaic word was...... who knows....but it wasn't church because church didn't exist as a concept. Church was something created by the early Christian fathers and the Romans. I am just there for the Light and I take it and I walk away. And I would take the Light from a murderer standing with blood dripping off a machete ... if there was such a thing. Because I just want the answer, and frankly kneeling in church and praying with the light streaming through the beautiful round window is ... effortless and generous and free. Let's start small. The RCC got the Greek NT and Hebrew OT as found in today's 1611KJV in about 300AD. As a fulfillment of the 'Little horn' verses they messed it up by the time Rome lost control of Jerusalem in about 450AD. The Latin translation tool the text out of the hands of the people and gave it to a group that was supposed to be feeding the poor and giving money to the poor. The empty place you are in should be 'busy' with the flock coming and going. A Gentile Church/Bank would have more than $75T still in circulation due to the work done in the last 150 years. Yet we are at least that car into debt to a 'special needs group'. There is no demand there only be one bank. The Vatican can give the poor interest free loans while charging usury to rich people and all merchants as they are the ones that need a bank more than anybody and they do 99,9 % of the transaction anyway. The early Church was doing things right so the text they used should be able to point to the changes that are to the detriment of the flock by keeping us in darkness rather than helping the flock become 'children of the light'. The book itself is the teacher, the Priests are to make a copy available to people who want to read it and talk about what they read, easier done on a full belly and a warm/dry room to sit in. People in the west have no spiritual contact? I think you are very wrong there. What do you base that wild claim on? There is more to the world than the words of Jesus. I has been suggested that hell was created from the lake of fire that souls have to pass through in the Egyptian underworld journey.
