Yes he was so bloody dry! Love it. as well. I only discovered him last year after my grandad told me about him. I watched the rebel the other night and it got bad reviews but i enjoyed it. Also enjoy round the horne. Edited August 23, 2020 by Fluke

I loved Tone, his comedy was years ahead of it's time, he was without a doubt a true genius, he was always struggling not to laugh. Sid James, on the other hand was a bit of a stalker apparently, and I read somewhere he was a bit of a mystery man! He was born Solomon Joel Cohen in South Africa and claimed he'd been a diamond cutter, a dance instructor and a boxer, it was later discovered that he was actually a trained hairdresser! Funnily enough, he was living on Hancock Street, Hillbrow, Johannesburg when he was young! Later on in England he had a three year affair with Barbara Windsor {those damn Windsors get everywhere } Edited October 4, 2022 by Steven Tansell
Tinfoil Hat
Hehehe! I grew up listening to Hancock on record (parent's collection). I used to know some episodes off by heart.

Tinfoil Hat
The only comedy in recent years I've enjoyed (to listen to) is the Cabin Pressure series (plural) by John Finnemore. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's not heard these yet... https://www.podbean.com/podcast-detail/veu28-16cfe7/Cabin-Pressure-Podcast (I think I have more than what's on the above link, on Audible, but the above gives a good taste of it).Seems obvious but tab to page 1 to start at the 1st episode & work back, Edited October 4, 2022 by Tinfoil Hat
AdvaitaV
Thank you so much for these. Tony Hancock and Hancock's Half hour really brighten my day. I love the stoicism, the sardonic wit... it's just timeless. ;-)
