First, I can't tell you how grateful I am to have found your work ! I share as much as I can. You are a unique voice in terms of research and insight!

I have a question...Why is NO ONE digging into Ancestry.com selling the majority of itself to Blackrock? What becomes of our DNA info as a result of this?

For clarity, it is "Blackstone" not Blackrock

"To be crystal clear, Blackstone will not have access to user data and we are deeply committed to ensuring strong consumer privacy protections at the company," a spokesperson for Blackstone told Motherboard in an email. "We will not be sharing user DNA and family tree records with our portfolio companies." A spokesperson from Ancestry also said the company's relationship with its users would remain the same.

This world is full of wolves.  Make no mistake about it.

This is beyond creepy.  They don't have my DNA, but cousins put the entire family tree in it.  Information is extremely valuable.  Blackrock could use it for anything they want.   They said nothing about third parties having access to it.  I'd be crucified for what some of my ancestors shipped across the Atlantic.

I could see Blackrock getting into the extortion business.  They seem to be above the law.

If they have enough people's DNA they have the means to guess the genes of those who are the missing gaps.

A genetically targeted bioweapon, for instance, like a virus or something like Anthrax could be released. It might be harmless for most people, but if it comes into contact with someone with the exact DNA match, it would be activated.

From the Guardian:

Quote

construction of genetic weapons "is now approaching reality". Such "genetic bombs" could contain anthrax or bubonic plague tailored to activate only when genes indicated the infected person was from a particular group.

This was way back in 2004. As you can imagine the reality will already have happened.
