The moment we all knew was coming....

Coronavirus vaccine: Scott Morrison announces free COVID-19 vaccines for Australians but says it will be ‘as mandatory as possible’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he intends to make a COVID-19 vaccine ‘as mandatory as possible’ for all Australians once it becomes available.

News.com.au revealed today that the Morrison Government has confirmed a landmark agreement with drug giant AstraZeneca to manufacture one of the world’s most promising coronavirus vaccines currently being developed by Oxford University researchers.

If it’s proved safe to use, Prime Minister Scott Morrison believes the agreement will ensure Australians will be among the first countries in the world to secure the jab, revealing this morning it could be available to Aussies as soon as early next year.

The UK Government has already ordered 100 million doses.

Asked whether the vaccine would be mandatory, Mr Morrison told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell that it needed to get to about 95 per cent of the population.

“I would expect it to be as mandatory as you can possibly make it,” the PM said.

“There are always exemptions for any vaccine on medical grounds but that should be the only basis.

Mitchell pointed out that there would be campaigns from the anti-vaxxers but the Prime Minister seemed unfazed.

“I’m used to that, I was the minister that established ‘no jab, no play’,” he said. “My view on this is pretty clear and not for turning.”

I recently moved to Aus (last few years) and I'm not surprised, it really is looking bleak here, but hopefully enough refuse or resist.  I'm guessing no vax, no job or something similar. The world is really fucked at the moment, just clinging to hope the world sees sense.

"As mandatory as possible" .... I find this statement very odd indeed, it's either mandatory or it isn't.

Dictionary definition:

Something that is mandatory must be done, or is demanded by law:

So, from this I can only conclude that the guy is saying they are going to imply it is law but it actually isn't...

Urging that we should be giving away our freedom of choice by consent?

Morrison has rowed back on his mandatory vaccine thing. Bit too soon for that🙄. His handlers must have given him a bollocking. Nevertheless, the antipodean countries are still leading the way....to the gulag.

I'm now starting to understand why the Americans have owning a gun as part of their constitutional rights.

When the first wave of Covid  bullshit was spun, there was a photo on social media of American's rushingout  to buy guns.

Someone I know posted  'What are the American's thinking.....That  they can shoot the virus with their guns'?

I could not believe the amount of people who was saying 'Yeah what are they like and how stupid they are'.

I was going to post and educate them about the second ammendment but thought better of it.

Trying to educate them would have been like being an English speaking teacher in China with a class of  kids who are all on their  i pads.....NO chance of getting through to them!

@Brad the lad The only reason we aren't allowed a strap is because of the dunblaine shooting, which implicated high ranking masons (allegedly) and top members of government in a paedophile ring (the mason point makes sense considering tony blair, another mason, facilitated the 100 year gag order) Plus people say thomas hamilton was under heavy MK ultra type stuff too. Because of all this we aren't allowed to protect ourselves in our homeland?

Shameful is what it is...
