What are your experiences of track and trace ?

Recommended Posts

Mine are as follows:

Two refusals, near the beginning which I got away with

Some refusals which resulted in me being asked to leave

Being asked to scan a QR code, didn't do it

Leaving a fake name and number

I have tried telling various people that the government themselves admitted that track and trace is illegal/unlawful. I was lectured by some cafe owner who made it out to be harmless. I left bad reviews on trip advisor, and surprisingly they were published.

But seriously, the zeal with which the sheeple are lapping this up is astonishing. Watching them with their smart phones, scanning QR codes and questioning nothing is so disappointing and deflating. I used to get angry about it but now it's more of a quiet, tired disgust.

Went into pub, ordered drink, before paying, barman gets out clipboard and pen, "what name is it please and contact number" He says,  "errr - is it compulsory?" I said,  "yeah" he said.
"ok, errr Roger Mee -  07654 500123"  I said,     (not my real name of course)
It didn't even raise a smile - I think he was stone cold bored of all the bullcrap.
He didn't even look at my card.

I sincerely hope everyone else is doing the same.
(good thread - out of forum reactions for now)

Just with my hairdresser. I phoned up to make an appointment to check about masks. Which they didn't insist on, but did insist on T&T so they lost a sale.

I was lucky, I found a barbers which also cut women's hair and got a haircut before track and trace even launched, weeks ago.

Good on you bluesky - sticking to your guns- they can just do one, the sheep policing the sheep isn't it?

(obviously the truly awake and we on the forum here aren't the sheep - but as far as the track and tracer jobsworths are concerned we are)

errr...nope.

That's good then.

I just cut my own fringe :-). I could do with a trim on the ends though.

They're definitely gonna try and push critical thinkers to the edge of society, I just hope those people who have a mind of their own don't bow down to this. Scary times...

That's exactly what I was thinking. Especially where the vaccine is concerned. Anti vaxxers are going to be played off against the rest of the population. The government may try and use us as leverage; say that certain restrictions will remain in place for EVERYONE until everyone has the vaccine...

The possibilities are endless, really. I really wished I was wrong about all the conspiracy stuff. I wanted to be wrong, just so that there could be some hope for freedom, free thinking and self-expression.

It's quite remarkable really.

So I can get on a bus or train, I can go to my own place of work, and I can go to my local shops or supermarkets, without needing to provide my 'name and number'.

But if I go to a cafe, or a barbers, or a pub, I'm expected to provide personal information?

It really makes me laugh when I see news stories about 'outbreak of coronavirus' at a pub, or a courier delivery depot. And the subsequent 'race' to find and 'isolate' anyone who may have been in the vicinity.

Like the bogus 'tests', this is all being made up on the fly just to keep people 'in fear'.

Haven't done track and trace and never will. No pub or restaurant is worth giving up my integrity for. I want people's businesses to survive but if the venue owners can't see this is all bullshit and exercise common sense then I think they're going to suffer for it.

I think the real free thinkers with the balls to back it up will start their own communities or move to a different country (if permitted)

Me too.... and we would find a new pleasant way to live, exchanging trade and skills, farm the land just to sustain ourselves - not farming for endless consumption. I dream of a nice community like this - however, I'm aware even safe havens eventually have someone come along and become a tyrant - it would be my ideal but I think naturally eventually a hierarchy would form and it would become about power. The human race is wierd - there is so much to marvel about and be happy with but the power game takes over

Yeah there is a place in spain where it's a real free society like this (can't remember the name but it's quite famous in the south). Apparently now the original folks are citing the problems that you mention + it attracted a lot of criminal types as well.

Was given the QR code at an O'neils pub few weeks back and just left it on the table didn't even look at it. Then this week going into a Franco Manca was told we have to scan the code, I asked was it compulsory to be told yes, so said bye then. The lady looked shocked and confused. Later that evening I laughed to my partner saying why didn't we just fill in fake names (as we ended up walking around for an hour in the rain, trying to find somewhere to eat). Glad I didn't give my money to a place making it compulsory though. The right to choose is freedom imo.

If you can keep the population  under or around 500 per community,  this will stop most hierarchies forming.

Alexander the great was advised to keep cities small to stop the population going to war against each other.

There is a QR code by the till at my local cafe. My friend always waves his non-smartphone in front of it (he's very compliant), but I've never noticed anyone with an actual smartphone do it. I don't take my phone out with me any more, so I just ignore it. Apparently you can enter your details on their website if you don't have a smartphone - not likely ... I mean I'm old, I'm not going to remember the URL once I get home, am I?
