Sparkbrook road shut and bomb squad on scene as suspected hand grenade found in house

Quote

Police have sealed off a busy Sparkbrook street after a suspected hand grenade was found inside a house.

The device was discovered this evening, September 9, in a property on Swallow Close - sparking the closure of the small residential cul-de-sac and nearby Stoney Lane.

Pictures and footage from the scene show a cordon in place on Stoney Lane, near the junction with Highgate Road.

Its amazing how these 'suspected live grenades' can be found just like that. I suppose it makes a change from them being fished out of a canal after so many years.

wouldn't that mean each house would have to a have a drive and the offices some parking spaces?

All new homes have to have offroad parking now and any new office/industrial buildings the same,I believe its written into planning law as part of agnda 2030 and 'sustainability' at least for the UK anyway

Absolutely heartbreaking.

I swam with dolphins in Cuba in a large natural mangrove lagoon .... such a happy memory, except they were captive and not wild.

Dolphins slaughtered in record numbers on Faroe Islands, conservationists say

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society says a record number of dolphins have been culled during the Faroe Islands' traditional Grindadrap hunt. The killing of 1,428 dolphins is the largest single hunt of cetaceans ever, it said.
