I immediately thought that it was longer than 3:30. However, the played music is actually 3:30, if you cut out the beginning and end of the video that obviously wouldn't have been present on the audio single. How could I have ever doubted Wikipedia? The alarm goes when the clock hits 3 o'clock and 3 seconds, with the reverse of the second hand obviously pointing to 33 seconds at the same moment. Can anyone see anything else in the music video? Interestingly, to me at least, the music video was filmed at Venice High School in Los Angeles, which is where the film 'Grease' (1978) was also filmed. P.S. I never realised that Britney was actually 16 years old, when the music video was filmed in August 1998. She was technically still in Year 11. I assumed she was 18 or 19. Along with the Venice High School link, I think that this was very likely another homage to 'Grease', a major Society flick, as it was released in 1978. The movie was heavily coded. We see clear symbolism from the get-go on the poster for the movie (as shown below) which shows a stag on a road with the name “Baal” encoded vertically in the actors’ names. In Leave the World Behind, the characters are continually stalked by stag throughout the duration of the movie. In his scholarly article ‘Mahmoud Darwish and Tanure Ojaide: Poets of exilic consciousness and representatives of oppressed nations’, Ghada Mohammad explains: “The stag was sacred in ancient times, when it became a symbol of the gods of fertility as Tammuz, Ba’al, Adonis and Attis (Sawah, 1996, 276)”.
