Can you imagine if this happened within the Western world? They would be playing this 24/7 ad nauseam. Couple of things to note... It's been surprisingly low key within Western media. It h

Eyewitnesses said they heard a noise like a jet and then what felt like an earthquake, followed by a massive exothermic blast, decimating the port of Beirut and causing destruction several miles away.

Exactly, please refer to my comment above.   They could have used this story to overshadow current events if they had nothing to hide and it was of no consequence. They should have show

Isn't Lebanon one of the countries on the PNAC (Project for the New American Century) 'hitlist'?

Perhaps this explosion is the 'trigger' for a series of events about to unfold...

well 2020 events so far,go to your advantage so to speak.....😔

Trump said it was an attack and I bet you may believe him for once, one more provocation by the 'wrestler'... the president of the USA wouldn't be let state and repeat whatever BS before the cameras, and regarding a country like Lebanon I've been surprised that our media didn't forward as one of the first hypothesis that of a 'terrorist attack'... so it very likely was an attack but a 'non-terrorist' one...

'information' has become exclusively one-sided in the last decades so we'll not be let know more about it...

British former intelligence officer Philip Ingram told the BBC's Today programme that ammonium nitrate could only be turned into an explosive substance under certain circumstances.

Mr Ingram said that safely stored it was relatively safe.

Accident, my arse!

Ammonium nitrate = commonal garden terrorist bomb - often mixed with diesel.

Relatively safe when safely stored - even the Lebanese PM has stated it was dumped there and left - trouble is its condition deteriorates over time so now its all stacked in a pile in a confined space -so  when that fire reached it - it of course ignited the gas expanded and had no where to go - hence the big boom.

Even though early reports coming out of Lebanon are calling this an ‘accident’, the timing of this explosion is highly suspect to say the least. For the past 6 weeks or so, Israel has been relentlessly bombing targets in Iran and Syria, due to an increase in terrorist activity coming from those areas. As recently as just yesterday, the IDF made air strikes on Iranian targets near Damascus. When you look at the video of the explosion in Beirut, it was multiple explosions actually, it does not appear to be something that was accidental. It looks like a strategic air strike, the only question is why. If it does turn out to be from Israel, this could well lead to a fresh outbreak in hostilities in the Middle East.

Interesting stills of the aftermath and the crater left by this Tactical Nuke or Tesla Howitzer.

The cargo was abandoned by a Russian owned ship in 2013-14 sailing under a Moldovan flag which was impounded after it docked at the port due to mechanical difficulties. The Lebanese authorities said it failed a safety test. The country is corrupt, I see that as a bit unlikely, all they would have to do if true would have paid a small bribe to release the ship.

Was the cargo what it was supposed to have been and did the owner of the ship know? He abandoned the ship and its crew after it was seized. This doesn't really add up to me because why keep a cargo like that in a busy port when space would have been obviously needed? The blast has wrecked the city far more than anything over the last 50 years. The more I think about it the more "timing" comes to mind.

uK column news today suggested that Turkey could have been involved in this. Its near the end of the hour.

Having lived in the middle east previously there was usually a pattern of 'incidents' occurring on or around the time of religious events. This was just after Eid when some people may have still be on holiday. I feel awful for the Lebanese, they have been attacked for decades, almost as much as Palestinians. Every time they re build they get knocked down again. i hope the truth will come out about this. It is definately suspect, that explosion was not normal, there was a trigger for sure.

They're at it again!

Will they be condemned, stopped and sanctioned for their crimes?

No. Far from it. Instead, their crimes will be assisted, covered up and "the allies" will start bombing and condemning any retaliation within a moments notice as an unprovoked attack of violence, of being antisemitic hate crimes and we should protect "the only democracy within the Middle East".

How anyone can't see what's going on here, nor question the unfair and unbelievable bias towards Israel, Zionists, the condemnation of their actions and can't, don't or won't link this, to the reality of heavily pro-Israeli lobbied politicans and media groups, within the "allied nations" is beyond me.
It's beyond obvious at this point, it's just willful ignorance on the part of those whom can't or refuse to see what's going on and being able to support this or turn the other cheek so often, to even the notion of the idea of speculating Israeli Zionist involvement in unfortunate activities they're the ones whom gain from such circumstances. I'd be surprised if they wasn't behind it overtly or covertly.

Richard Silverstein reports:

A confidential highly-informed Israeli source has told me that Israel caused the massive explosion at the Beirut port earlier today which killed over 100 and injured thousands. The bombing also virtually leveled the port itself and caused massive damage throughout the city.

Evacuations Due to Toxic Materials

“It’s a catastrophe inside. There are corpses on the ground. Ambulances are still lifting the dead,” said one Lebanese soldier to AFP.

It was like an atomic bomb,” remarked another resident who lived near the port.

Call for Evacuation

Lebanon’s health minister has issued an advisory notice for residents to leave the city if they can, due to the possible toxic poisoning and hazardous materials present in the air from the explosion. Officials are warning that these may have long-term deadly effects on the peoples health.

The chemical material in question, an organophosphate known as Ammonium Nitrate, is a common industrial chemical used for for fertiliser, and is also used as an ingredient for explosives, although it is not explosive on its own. On its own, it can only ignite under very specific conditions.

Something else is happening here and we are obviously not being told the full story as per usual when the traditional enemies of humanity are involved.

It happened two days before the imposition of another lockdown and the day after a further escalation of tension between Israel and Hezbollah.

It was also Obama's birthday!

And in typical Talmudic fashion, they blame the victims themselves, for the crimes being perpetrated against them, by Israel.

So the claim is Israel bombed a Hezbollah weapons dump because they didnt know there was Anfo next door - so didnt know it would cause an explosion.

Since the  hezbollah weapons dump would likely contain ammunition and explosives* then bombing it would have potentially  the same effect as the AN exploding as all those bullets bombs and explosives would explode in the fire**.

Its not credible that anybody though bombing a weapons dump would not result in a big bang - unless it was only weapons and not ammunition and explosives - but the arms dump claims contradict this) In which case either a) they hit it knowing the likely  result regardless of the AN next door - or Mr Silversteins telling Porkies and assuming his audience wont ask questions.

Since he is the only source saying Israeli attack, Lebanon, Iran, Hezbollah all say accident im inclined to conclude Mr Silverstien is a Liar.

*And the supporters claim that the fireworks were really ammunition cooking off so it isnt portrayed as just inert things such as guns and rocket launchers.

**See Russia - last year or start of this year*** UK in WW2 where accidental fires in arms dumps were catastrophic. Then theres an African dump where a single building is hit with a single bomb and the whole base  is gone afterwards.

***Its hard to track  this year

I actually think only the buildings in the immediate vicinity of the port have structural damage, beyond the port perhaps the first 2 blocks of residential/commercial will need demolishing, perhaps even only the first block.  Many blocks further out have the windows blown out but they just need to clean it up and board up the windows apertures and get on with it.  There is dust everywhere but it's not too bad really.

Ammonium nitrate is said to be commonly used in explosives like IEDs according to the press.

Don't those need specific detonators and a rather complicated treatment involving diesel or something?

To explode No and No - however to control when (and where) they explode then its more of a yes to using a detonator question _  A pressure cooker of it will explode if you drop in a match - but if you dont want to be stood next to it  when it goes bang - you need a detonator

Mixing it with fuel oil (Diesel) does increase its explosive power,  the resulting explosive mix ANFO being used commercially.

AN itself can explode under adverse conditions eg fire in a confined space, much like petrol - 1000 gallons on the floor burns - set fire to a tanker and that 1000 gallons goes boom / Pretty much anything which combusts will go bang in a confined space because theres no space for the heated gasses to expand in - hence the explosive effect.

Custard powder and flour being 2 vary dangerous substances - being a very fine light powder and low flash point  - saw mills as well with very fine sawdust IIRC

Im given to understand that home made Anfo is somewhat unstable -
