I read in a post somewhere, that one hand sanitizer had been recalled. Because it was toxic, and had attacked the nervous system. Think it might be called shield,  wish I could remember where I saw it.  I worked in care for 14 years and barely ever used it, never liked the chemically smell of it,  and I saw the state of my colleagues hands, all cracked and dry.

There are two on that list with 'Shield' in their name.

It would appear that if challenged by anyone because you're not wearing a face covering, it is enough to state 'I have an exemption'.

If you read the legislation it's full of holes you can say you're exempt and that should be the end of it. No one has the power to throw you out or force you to wear it as stated via the legislation

Went round Aldi today it was just weird. It was fairly busy and I was the only person in there without a mask, but no one seemed to care. It was odd, no one said anything to me, no one gave me a funny look, the staff almost pointedly looked right through me. It was just like any, completely normal trip to the shops except all the other shoppers were dressed up like Michael Jackson. Strange.

What did get on my nerves though was the old chap outside by the trolleys complaining that he "hated wearing these things" I told him he didn't have to wear it if he didn't want to but it didn't seem to go in. Later I saw him by the bananas pulling at the mask and puffing like he was trying to get his breath. Really pissed me off, some poor old person is going to keel over in this heat all because of their stupid muzzles.

I think that's part of the intention... people develop 'conditions' because of having to wear these things, then it can be pointed to 'covid'

Exactly, wearing these stupid masks will aggravate any lung or heart problems and weaken the immune system nicely ready for the cold/flu season when everything will be labelled Covid.

Like I've said before, "You MUST wear a face covering... unless you are unable to"

From before the start of the 'lockdown' every bit of 'advice' or guidelines that governments have issued have been vague and/or contradictory, open to interpretation, and impossible to enforce.

And I think this is all deliberate, designed to confuse and befuddle people, and throw communities and wider societies into chaos, with the result of dividing people and having them turn on each other.

A thought just occurred to me.

Remember when the queuing and the arrows were all stopped? Shortly after that the masks were mandatorised.

So following  on with that reasoning, when the hand gels vanish from by the shop door.. they will announce that everyone must wear those blue smurf gloves from the next day or slightly later.

Am I right?

Maybe a thing to watch for?

Of course you're right, I saw this last week..... If you tolerate masks then gloves will be next.... Then goggles of course as it can get in through the eyes.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/07/24/gloves-may-next-step-masks-battle-against-covid-19-infection/

I'm going to get ahead of everyone by ordering my Strutter bubble now, as advertised 10 + years ago (hope they have some left!)

I have also got a good excuse for not wearing a mask if any busy bodies ask - I will reply that I am NOT exempt due to any health condition, but that I am banned by court order from wearing and kind of face covering in public. I will continue to explain that I have been banned for a number of years now legally, as the police want me to be recognisable to them whever I am out and about due to my past activities 🙂

It's all by public consent, because we have common law I don't think they can impose such stingent laws- or it's not as easy to enforce whilst  we have common law it's all open to interpretation.

Once they have the consent of the people they can impose any law they wish

And yes it is to divide

Does anyone else think that putting on an exemption badge is almost as bad as putting on the mask? (From the point of view of demonstrating acquiescence)

I have mine in my wallet. Not needed it yet mind. I'm not wearing a lanyard, that goes for my NHS one either. I queued up like everyone else.

My supermarket now has a large professional sign on the front saying masks, sanitizer and social distancing are required to enter.  I ignored all of it, and even though I was one of only a very few people ignoring it, no one said anything to me.

The lady who was at the entrance sanitizing cart handles directed me toward the "clean" ones and I reached over and intentionally grabbed one that had not been "cleaned" yet.

I was really tempted to walk through the store fake coughing and sneezing just to see what the face-muzzle people would do.  I have also been tempted to create a flyer and leave copies of it all over the store shelves everywhere.

So now that face masks are mandatory in shops, what will be your excuse for not wearing one should you visit? I’ve not decided the best way to go about it yet personally and wondering what everyone else is doing. For the sake of getting on with my day and being able to use shops if needed I’m u sure whether to just say I am exempt from wearing one (I am not) or just say I don’t want to and risk getting kicked out and people sending me to the slaughter shouting I am killing the world and rubbish along those lines.

See my profile picture? That is what I wear in shops or if I have to travel on public transport, which thank goodness I haven't had to yet. That way, all I have to say is that I won't wear a mask, because I can't breathe through them and by looking thoroughly ridiculous, I am making my point about my opinion too. I wish everyone against wearing masks would go about with a silly contraption like this in front of their face too. Then we would all recognize one another and I always find it very uplifting when I come across others who are awake too. Many hadn't thought about a visor or one like mine, so it's given them an idea of how to sort of comply and avoid an argument, but show they are against this at the same time. And it makes many people laugh, which can only be a good thing.

I have a homemade mask made out of cardboard painted red and squashed up cans of coke on either side like a gas mask - so I get your point about showing how ridiculous this all is, but for now at least I still won't wear any mask!

Two ladies came into the small shop I work in today, they asked did they have to wear a mask and we said no (It hasn't become mandatory here yet).  Then one of them said she had come out in a red rash after wearing her mask - I told her she didn't have to wear one and she would be medically exempt. Someone else came in saying how some schools will be having a 2 day week whilst others every other week - he could see it was ludicrous and senseless.  Primary school children won' t be allowed a schoolbag or lunchbox - they must take a disposable lunch instead.  People see it's crazy but they just comply anyway.

If you want to stay healthy avoid masks.. unless you are dealing with dust..  against floating transmissions in the air.. they wont do anything to help you, in fact will make you sick if worn for long periods. There is no LAW against NOT wearing a mask..That's exactly what I would say..DO Not engage with anyone who asks YOU to wear one. it's about choice?

I've spotted individuals wearing Halloween-esque masks in shops on multiple occasions. Although the Governess has made mask wearing in public spaces "mandatory", most people don't seem to give a hoot about it in my city. Some larger stores have wimps posted at the entrances to "stop" people from going in without one, but nobody seems to fight. Then again, my state is in the top 5s for "COVID Irresponsibility".

The best excuse, if ever confronted, would be "Your Mom" - it's my defualt deflection.

Before it was mandatory to wear masks I asked the guard at my local shop what the situation was, he said I had to bring a note from the doctor saying I was exempt from wearing a mask otherwise it was a fine. Since then I’ve complied and whilst I find it humiliating I saw it as a small battle lost. Today I thought, I’m not wearing it today, I walked in and the same guard was there, I said I’ve been advised not to wear a mask, his response was friendly and he said that’s fine mate. Didn’t even ask why I’d been advised not to, it was a nice shop today

I havent been stopped or told to wear a mask yet and will not wear one if I can avoid it.

I wont be offering any excuses other than to say "I am exempt."

I am not legally obliged to give any further information since it contravenes doctor patient confidentiality and  wont be subject to scrutiny .

I dont beleive police have any jurisdiction in this matter since it is a civil matter and not a criminal matter.

The act of interrogation constitutes harrassment, stigmatisation (by implication) and discrimination imho

Giving details to police if that situation arises is not mandatory either, again as it is a civil matter.

I also wonder if it falls under the auspice of GDPR ?

If I am wrong on this - chime in and highlight it !

I feel depressed to even think of wearing a mask. Depression is also a valid exemption I am led to beleive

The depression relates to the tyrrany we are being subjected to.

A mask causes me to have difficulty breathing as it is a direct obstruction.

so far I am happy not to wear a mask

If I do get forced to through some mandate I will resort to other measures to avoid wearing as described in this and other threads.

Bus driver / shop owner / security guard: Do you have a face covering?

Me: I am exempt from wearing a mask because I have a medical condition.

Bus driver / shop owner / security guard: Do you have any proof?

Me: I don't need proof, gov.org says the person should not routinely ask for proof.

OR

Me: I don't need to disclose information under the data protection act.

This works all the time. Usually they roll their eyes and let out a big sigh... I just keep the grin on my face.

To visit my GP surgery they are insisting on face masks unless I have an exemption card. The government website says:

Exemption Cards

Those who have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering should not be routinely asked to give any written evidence of this, this includes exemption cards. No person needs to seek advice or request a letter from a medical professional about their reason for not wearing a face covering.

Some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign.

This is a personal choice and is not necessary in law.
