I wonder also how DI travels to the main land now, I doubt he would be wearing a mask! Apologies if a bit off topic, however, I'm just curious how David copes/travels these mask wearing days. Thanks x

I bet ya, if he was questioned, he would give all the necessary info for that person to come to senses. 😉

I posted in another thread about the exemption card attached to a lanyard that I put on before I go shopping.

It's a near-fluorescent red lanyard saying 'MASK EXEMPT' with the exemption badge attached. While the security guard on the supermarket door is busily examining it I put on my Bill Gates smirk, tilt my head sarcastically (like Bill Gates) and imagine a big fat middle finger in my head.

Job done.

Do they actually examine the card?

What if you laminated a card that says I AM HAPPY? Just flash the card at the security guard. lol

Hello all, I'm just jumping into the conversation after an experience this morning at the local hospital.  I was with my partner who had an out-patient appointment, neither of us is 'exempt' from wearing a mask and neither of us wish to compromise our health and endure the discomfort of wearing a mask either.  I was feeling pretty 'gung-ho' about the visit, I was going to stand my ground and say it was all nonsense/control and refuse to wear the damn thing.  We arrived at the main entrance to be met by a nice chap, wearing a mask, who was handing out masks to those who didn't have them.  My other half pulled his scarf over his mouth (grrr...) leaving me to face down the 'doorman'.  "Are you ok to wear a mask my Lovely" asks the chap, "Erm..aah..well..erm..." (I know, I was pathetic! Tongue-tied and feeling rather intimidated for some reason) I finally stuttered that I would be extremely uncomfortable.  He smiled "Ok, no problem".  I thought that was the end of it but when we arrived at outpatients reception the rottweiler receptionist demanded that I put a mask on, I told her no, then said I'm exempt.  She demanded to see the letter from my GP confirming this.  Gulps, I didn't know there was such a thing.  By this time I was quite agitated and upset and my partner just blurted, "She gets panic attacks"...the woman snorted but left me alone after that.  Everyone in there stared at me as I walked past with ill-disguised anger.  I'm down in Cornwall, I wonder how folk in other parts of the UK are experiencing this.  I really don't want to wear a mask, I don't want to wear a lanyard claiming exemption when I'm not entitled to either.  What to do eh?!

I've got myself a few 'None Verbal' cards and lanyards.

No need to worry about getting into difficult conversations that might turn sour.

Just show them the card - smile - and move on :0)

Hi all. New here, I spotted this thread as I was trawling around the web looking for like minded individuals as I'm trying to share some info I picked up regarding the law, our rights and the face muzzle. Some of you may have seen there was an anti mask demo in London a while back. The people who organised it are an outfit called Keep Britain Free this is their site https://www.keepbritainfree.com/ .

On Friday 24/7 I went into my local Tesco without a mask and was basically interrogated in front of the whole shop when I told them in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't (not couldn't) wear one. After causing a massive fuss they eventually handed me a lanyard that I could wear on future visits to mark me out as "special" 🙂 I purchased my goods and left the shop.

When I got home I immediately emailed Tesco customer services and complained to them about how their staff had interrogated and humiliated me in front of the whole shop. They initially emailed me back, trotting out the standard line, blah, blah, government regulations, blah, everyone wear a mask etc. It was during this email exchange that I went on the Keep Britain Free website and on their forum someone had linked a barristers blog where he lays out the law regarding face nappies and the disabilities discrimination act 2010. Here is the link if anyone's interested. http://laworfiction.com/2020/07/face-covering-litigation-threats-and-administrative-headache/

I then emailed Tesco again, this time including the relevant sections of the discrimination act, I basically read them the riot act. Below is a redacted copy of the email I received in return.

The bottom line is this. The discrimination act protects you from being hassled over not wearing a mask. The only people with the power to question why you aren't wearing one are police officers or pcsos. Anyone else is leaving themselves vulnerable to prosecution and a £5000 fine. You don't have to justify why you're not wearing a mask. You effectively "self certify" that you consider the restricted oxygen flow as being a risk to your health or whatever, and the beauty is if it should ever, by some long shot go to court, you can't be found guilty of "mistakenly" diagnosing yourself as at risk. You have the right to act in your own best interest.

Oh and by giving people those Tesco "I'm Disabled" lanyards and badges they are totally contravening the act. I mean come on, making people wear a mark to show they're different, where have we seen that before?

I urge you all to look at this guys blog and download the pdf "toolkit" We don't have to wear masks if we don't want to and there's not a damn thing they can do about it.

I've got one of these, but I don't display it - I keep it in my wallet. I haven't been challeneged yet, but when I am I will just take it out and flash it at them, smile and carry on. Should they try and press for further info, my expression will change from smiley and relaxed to extremely offended and I will state that I have no wish to discuss my medical history with a stranger in public and then give them the lionel blare stare......

Dan Walker on Twitter: "I need to work on my stare 😳… "

Went into the Co-op today not wearing a mask.  Staff looked me up suspiciously but said nothing.  They weren't wearing a mask.

It is making people police each other ... but there is something else.

Demanding that other people make changes to protect you ... because you are vulnerable.

This kind of mentality is now a very big part of British culture .. the victim mentality.  The nation worships the wheelchair and everyone is a victim.

Rather than say worshipping the eagle.

Those parents who make their children wear masks ‘despite a serious medical condition’ are absolute scum parents.

It quite clearly states in the UK Government's list of exemptions that children under the age of 11 are exempt from wearing face coverings.

Children under that age who are wearing them, must be being forced to do so by their parents (or guardians). That to me is a form of child abuse. (I doubt many kids are wearing them of their own free will, unless they've been brain-washed)

Just this evening, while waiting at my bus stop, a bloke walks past with what looked like his daughter, must have been aged 6 to 8 at a guess (certainly less than 11), both of them were wearing matching 'fun design' face masks. It really turned my stomach.

Just do a simple search for 'face masks' on eBay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=face+masks

Look at how many listings there are for 'childrens' or 'kids' masks, with all the pretty and 'fun' designs.

I'll say it again, parents who buy these things and make their children wear them - WHEN CHILDREN UNDER 11 ARE EXEMPT FROM MANDATORY WEARING OF FACE COVERINGS - are guilty of child abuse and/or virtue-signalling of the highest order.

I'm just not going in shops for the forseeable.

I've considered a luchador or plague mask as well as a paper bag with eye holes even then I still feel like I'm complying.

More people will start to slacken with the masks as time goes by.  I shop at my Olde English - Pakistani corner shop without problems.

Somebody should show the parents this video which irrefutably shows how masks cause carbon dioxide build up. There have been a number of similar videos but this science teacher presents it in such a way as to try and avoid Youtube's algorithms - hopefully he will succeed and the video will stay up as long as possible.

I sort of feel we have the golden ticket re: my earlier post above. The legal position is quite clear.

Shopkeepers cannot challenge you if you haven't got a mask on. To do so makes them liable to a £5000 fine.

I live in the West Midlands, and on the local transport authority website, there is an 'Exemption Card' which can be freely downloaded and printed off:

Exemption Card

To support people with physical and mental health conditions, including those that are hidden, we have produced an assistance card which can be downloaded here. You can carry this card and if asked why you are not wearing a face covering you can show this to a staff member or fellow passenger.

You can also download the image here and save to your phone to show if you don't have a printer.

wmn_covid_card_exemptions_digital.png

I was emboldened enough to print myself a copy off, and used it to travel on buses to and from work today without wearing a face mask or covering.

This is basically the "golden ticket", because it seems that all you need to do is show this to the driver when boarding, and they cannot challenge you.

The wording is quite specific and clear. One does not need to actually even be 'exempt' to have one of these cards. And this is the fun bit.

These 'exemption cards' are not widely publicised (for some strange reason). So please do check if your local bus operator or transport authority has such a similar type of card.

Its your 'get out of jail free' card. And if your bus gets checked by inspectors and police officers, what can they do if they challenge you and you present this card? Would they really drag you off the bus, tram or train in order to 'justify' or explain your reasons for having one of these cards?

I don't think they could, as pointed out already by others on the grounds of 'discrimination'.

The 'law' (if it is indeed actually in 'law') is vague and woolly, and while there are these 'exemptions' in place, these cards make a mockery of this law. And I think this is deliberate, as it relies entirely on the populace to just meekly accept this 'law' and 'obey' or 'comply' without question.
