Christ. What the hell is going on here? I must confess, I've only been reading bits and pieces, but are people seriously suggesting that we disconnect ourselves from Gareth and David (the Icke family altogether). Let me be clear. It's only because of David Icke that I'm a member of this forum. If the Icke's get pushed out, I'm also done.

 

I have not been a member of this community for that long, but what I'm seeing being directed towards Gareth here is appalling. I can hardly believe my eyes. Are we seriously just going to let "them" win. Divide and rule, remember? Right now, when our freedoms are being stripped and assaulted is when we're choosing to fight amongst ourselves?

 

You know what, if that's the way it's going to be I'm done here as well.

 

To be perfectly honest, I see nothing wrong with this forum at all and have never understood why so many have been demanding a new one. Right now we're involved in the fight of our lives, and we shouldn't be squabbling about new forums and old content being restored. It's just petty.

The social aspect was a webmasters idea and he has spent a while building it. We were hoping that we could build up a community aswell as a forum for debate. We get tonnes of emails daily from people that feel alone and disconnected from friends and family when it comes to their views. They avoid posting on FB about their beliefs as it comes back and they get abused for it etc. They ask if there is a community that we know of. Unfortunately in the list of things, the forum isn't at the top so when major issues have come up with the site, or ickonic, the forum gets knocked down the list. That's not ideal, and its frustrating for me too, as I'm hassling to get stuff done, and then I get shirty posts and shirty emails about things not being fixed on time. 

 

A few have messaged and commented about them not wanting the new social aspect and I have sent all of them across to the webmaster. 

 

My Dad wanted to keep the forum as a free place that people can interact and share ideas, but obviously he is insanely busy and so isn't involved hands on. I saw a comment saying we wanted to move everything behind a paywall. That's absolutely not true and the forum will, as always, be completely free. 

 

There were a lot of bugs in the new forum and they are being fixed. I got access to the forum at exactly the same time as the other mods, so I was also going in blind. I would have liked a while to go through it myself but it has dragged on so much that I was desperate to get it sorted. 

 

I understand that some people won't like the new set up and I understand that they might want to set up their own forum. I would absolutely encourage them to do that. The more places with people talking about what's happening, the better. 

 

I am genuinely sorry that it's taken as long as it has. I have been hassling and prodding for weeks, but we're a small team and everything has multiple jobs, which is why I started work at 6 am and am still here at 10pm. I have spoken to the webmaster today and will be getting an update first thing. 

 

We'll keep both forums running along side each other, and if people would prefer, we could simply let people sign up if they wish, and not have them set up automatically. 

Thank you for your reply  I believe what many of the forum members are  looking for is  an assurance  or commitment from yourselves in recognising  the valuable research & debate that has been held within the  forum to  continue in a format & style  with some consideration given going forward  to their concerns to enable the on going success of the forum & the awareness it brings. Ps  & rumour has it maybe a suggestion for a safe or  vault to back  up all the knowledge  that gets discovered from time to time. In my judgement you have some good people here who are willing to assist however or whenever  they can  with some of the offers of  support surely  feasible or of great benefit  going forward & to assist in lighten your load ..    please  Keep up all the great work thank you.

I don't think it's a full on mutiny, just a bit on understandable frustration for some folks, so hopefully things will settle down in due course.

I for one am fully supportive of David, Gareth, Jayme and the team, and like I said I do appreciate what they do and I don't think they deserve to be bad mouthed. Gareth is a good egg, I've met him a couple of times and my missus had a good long chat with him and his mother when we went to see DI in Brixton 2016. I still have his personal trainer business card somewhere. So I can confirm that he is a real person, with emotions and feelings like the rest of us and deserves to be treated with respect.

Running a forum can be a proper ballache and it's a lot easier to criticise from the outside when you're not getting incoming flak from all angles.

Anyway I think Gareth has explained himself and I won't be joining in with the lynchmob. Like I said, I appreciate his efforts and I hope that the new fangled setup is a success, even if it isn't to my taste.

I will say again; if Gareth had made his statement above earlier, addressed to the mods who gave their time trying to help with the new forum, if there had been decent communication with them - as there most definitely was not, going by the mods posts on this thread; there would not have been all this shit.

It would have taken a couple of minutes.

People have the right to state their opinions whether out ‘there’ or in here; and I sympathise with those who are aggrieved by the loss of the content on the old forum; valuable stuff to many; not petty at all.

 

How soon people forget the time and effort the mods put in the other day, and had the courtesy to come and let us know what was going on.

 

And instead of reading ‘bits and pieces’; read the the whole ‘story’ to get the full ‘story’.

This forum IS a community.
Anyone can open any thread at an time on any subject and people will join in.

Thank you for the detailed 'long form' post and update.
This really was needed towards the end of last week or this weekend at the latest.
As far as we knew, as you stated, the forum and it's members were being 'put' into the new version Monday morning..(which as far as we knew, was completely faulty)...hence the 'very stressy' Sunday night.
So many people value this place, more than you might realise maybe.
lt's keeping a lot of people from feeling alone and going insane given the current world wide madness.

 my point I was trying to make as an EX long term serial lurker is I looked at it more as Learning not lurking when ever the term was used

I'm not saying I don't sympathise with you and the points you make, but at the end of the day I still believe those who are attacking Gareth are in the wrong. Some of the things that are been said just go way too far.

There is countless comments and feedback about the new place...from ink, Eve, Screaming Eagle and myself.

No-one wants to disconnect from the Ickes.
But.......most don't want the new platform being introduced.
A forum area and a SEPARATE social area would be ideal...

I replied in the new forum about the issues raised and said I am would pass on to Dwayne and also said that the move would be delayed. I didn't realise I had to post in the mod chat here, what I had already posted on there. 

 

Nothing will be moved over and I will arrange for someone else to take over the running costs/hosting and liability for the forum asap.

It's late here. I can't sleep worrying over all this.

 

This place saved my sanity. Because when you wake up - as we know - and you start to see how things really are the world can feel a very threatening place.

 

All of us respect David massively (Or we shouldn't be on a forum that bears his name). We want to protect him, but we have been like fishes out of water with no idea what the hell is going on.

 

We don't all have the benefit of other family members to chew over what's going on, so this place becomes a second family. 

If we're passionate about defending that, then GOOD.

This whole thing has come from miscommunication.
l only saw one comment from you on the new platform. lf you commented more l missed it as the place is so confusing and disjointed.
You gave us Mods the link to go and sign up to the new platform - in the hidden 'Admin /Mods' thread. And replied several times when we had a couple of questions about how best to sign up. We then came back into that thread and gave all our experiences and thoughts expecting you to be able to see them and respond. Eve (after her normal work) spent hours into the early morning - SE was on and off it all day. Me and ink spent over 11 hour straight on it - while talking to each other on the phone at the same time. We gave it everything we had. We were exhausted after and very alarmed at what we had found and discovered. We wrote everything down in the Admin/Mod thread here......and as far as l know ink emailed you more than once.
We were convinced you were going live Monday morning. Which would have been an utter disaster.
The Mods should be able to contact you easier. lt would help a lot, especially with such a big move proposed.

The emails I received were on Sunday afternoon. There were three in quick succession that I didn't get until Monday morning because I had taken Sunday afternoon off (a rarity). 

 

The emails had a go at me for tweeting. Which I was of the belief I was free to do. 

 

I had acknowledged the problems with the new forum and had said they were all passed on to Dwayne and that he was getting them all fixed. In my mind I had nothing else in my control as it was being dealt with, and any updates I got would be relayed. Any updates I've had I have passed on. 

 

As I've said, I'll sit down with Dwayne tomorrow when we're both in the office and will get it all arranged to be moved on to someone else. 

 

As far as I've been involved, all the way back when Sean left, the forum was always a dog pile of insults and accusations. 

 

I wish whoever takes it on, all the luck in the world.

Just for clarity, I don't think I ever said that Gareth was ignoring me. After messaging Gareth on Saturday about concerns with the new DI social, I heard back from him yesterday so within about 48 hours.

 

I had wondered if my concerns would be heard, and it appeared that they had until Gareth read the rest of this thread.
