It appears the top management is repeatedly  sabotaging their own forum !!! Erasing enormousness amounts of data which would have woken many newcomers up who would be constantly visiting and browsing .... now it's all gone ... this will have a dampening  effect on the awakening!

I'm probably being dramatic again, but it does feel like there is some kind of digital sub-cultural genocide taking place around the world. Years of discussion, debate, observation, fact-finding, analysis, creativity and speculation gone just like that. The history of our community erased, Tommy Cooper-style, just like that.

I went to see if 'culturcide' is an actual word. All I could find was a satirical punk-rock band from the 80s:

All the critiques remaining above in this thread says everything.
No answers to some very serious points raised.
The lckes complain of censorship and control.
But what have they been doing to the forums and the members ?
Hypocrites.
.

The new platform is -
Not a forum.
Not - a - forum.
NOT - A - FORUM...
(and only viewable once logged in)

I have heard from Gareth today confirming, as he has posted publicly, that they expect to resolve the glitches and go ahead with the new platform within 48 hours. He has also advised that:

"It should possible for people to simply use the forum aspect of the new set up and then set the social aspect to mute. If that's not possible I will suggest it so those that want to social aspect can have it, and those that don't, don't have to have it."

That is all I know for now.

We should all reside in the Dark Web....then the job is done....not?

I mean, if non-members can't see posts made by members then we might as well. No difference to me.

There are always at least 10 - 15 - 20 times more guests than members on the forum at any time reading all the information we gather.
That aspect will be no more as you point out..

Bearing in mind, they don't just have day job but now family to look after...and forum and edit vids? mnnn

To me, that's full on. Obviously mods take some burden off though.

They spend NO time here and answer / respond to about 5 / 10 % of Mod communications..

We can go on talking amongst ourselves but there was always a thinking that a newbie might find a relevant thread.

Mind you, if DI website is unlisted from the search engines like the G then newbies won't find a thread anyway.

Having a private forum won't put off paid shills either because they only need to register. Even if you make it paid members only, their master would pay so that they can continue to post. :classic_rolleyes:

I don't know what the solution is...but solution exists at the same time as the problem arises. It is the law.

Can you imagine a non-moderated forum? In both good and bad ways.....

Obviously, in Dark Web, there won't be libel and you can say anything you like.... IDK what the law is.

Why might it be, that despite much heated opinion here, the current forum is going to disappear soon. Money? Time? Interest..

I would say that this Ickebook thing has its place. It's not a bad thing in itself even if I personally hate the idea and refuse to make do with it..

What IS a bad thing, is diluting and convoluting the forum aspect, blocking non members from even seeing what's in it, AND getting rid of the one already here.

Oh, not to mention misplacing the whole backup, twice ?

I know I don't contribute that much here but I've been around over 15 years, I learned a lot from DIF, and as has been said by others the conversation helped me feel less alone sometimes. .

I'll miss it. Thanks to everyone who ever put time in to share information, to run things in the background - and tried to keep something going here and now.

I hope to find a few of you again either on www.whatthetruth.uk, crows, grumpys or wherever else.
