He has also advised that: "It should possible for people to simply use the forum aspect of the new set up and then set the social aspect to mute. If that's not possible I will suggest it so those that want to social aspect can have it, and those that don't, don't have to have it." That is all I know for now. Mind you, if DI website is unlisted from the search engines like the G then newbies won't find a thread anyway. Having a private forum won't put off paid shills either because they only need to register. Even if you make it paid members only, their master would pay so that they can continue to post. I would say that this Ickebook thing has its place. It's not a bad thing in itself even if I personally hate the idea and refuse to make do with it.. What IS a bad thing, is diluting and convoluting the forum aspect, blocking non members from even seeing what's in it, AND getting rid of the one already here. Oh, not to mention misplacing the whole backup, twice I know I don't contribute that much here but I've been around over 15 years, I learned a lot from DIF, and as has been said by others the conversation helped me feel less alone sometimes. . I'll miss it. Thanks to everyone who ever put time in to share information, to run things in the background - and tried to keep something going here and now.
