If you don't have a link don't post big pictures that clog up the thread please otherwise people might think badly of you. Also, lets keep the book cover pictures small, it's only a nicety anyway and in principle i have no objection. We need to keep this tight so it can be searched easily. I put a few key books onto a USB stick and some micro-sd cards to give people when i'm out. Gave one away today and said to pass it on. p.s. I'm thinking we may need the thread cleaned now and again. Back to the linked-to books and just the titles of recommendations without links. Will watch that later but it's a bit annoying that the books aren't listed in the youtube notes.

alexa
Here is a TRUE story of international intrigue, romances, corruption, graft, and political assassinations, the like of which has never been written before. It is the story of how different groups or atheistic- materialistic men have played in an international chess tournament to decide which group would win ultimate control of the wealth, natural resources, and man- power of the entire world. It is explained how the game has reached the final stage. The International Communists, and the International Capitalists, (both of whom have totalitarian ambitions) have temporarily joined hands to defeat Christian-democracy. The solution is to end the game the International Conspirators have been playing right now before one or another totalitarian-minded group imposes their ideas on the rest of mankind. The story is sensational and shocking, but it is educational because it is the TRUTH. The author offers practical solutions to problems so many people consider insoluble. 1

alexa
Legends is the first book to which one turns to learn about the postbiblical understanding of a biblical episode, or to discover the source for biblical legends that cannot be traced directly to the Bible. It is also the first place to find the answers to such questions as: on what day was Abraham born; what was Moses' physical appearance, or what was the name of Potiphar's wife. Bennett I took delivery of this one this morning, I was looking for an interesting personal travel book and Bennett is very good, a sensitive intelligent and spiritual man. "Setting out in late September 1953, Bennett's zeal, openness, knowledge and ability to speak Turkish opened many doors which otherwise would have remained closed. He met with mullahs, Sufis, dervishes, Yezidis and charlatans and in so doing a new appreciation of Mr. Gurdjieff emerged." I've worked with Gurdjieff-related groups and study for over 40 years. "In Search of the Miraculous" by Ouspensky is probably the best overall introduction to Gurdjieff and his work. But an excellent look at him as a man can be found in Fritz Peter's books - "Boyhood with Gurdjieff" and "Gurdjieff Remembered". Peters was sent to Gurdjieff's school as a boy against his will and that reluctance provides a great counter-point to the rather po-faced worship of the other followers. The books are funny and moving. I was pretty close to the man who ran the UK Gurdjieff group, who was a student of Ouspensky - a lovely man who was often tired of the formality developed around "the Work". I also knew the people at Beshara, which Bennett helped to set up. They told me that in his last years he became more and more desperate to find the spiritual truth behind human life, even becoming a Catholic late on.

Michi713
If you like odder stuff: So this book Plants of the Gods by Schultes, Hoffman, and Ratsch isn’t just a list of psychoactive plants, but gives a very good survey of how they are used around the world and for what specific purposes. A closer look at indigenous cultures gives a sense that they were up to more than Western society would like to believe. I especially like the Bwiti cult on pp. 114-115. The Cosmic Serpent Jeremy Narby A look at ayahuasca shamanism, visions, and connects DNA I’m not into Francis Crick’s panspermia. It’s silly and demeaning like how most modern scientists view anything. Other than a brief mention of that, good book. Supernatural by Graham Hancock I mean I’m not into fairies I had to skip through the fairies. And all the alien abduction accounts. But the main idea is drawing parallels between ancient rock paintings, modern shamanic experiences and initiation rituals. And the part that is the most fascinating to me is not all that but again about the DNA. About the “junk” DNA. So anyway get through the fairies and get to that part. Secret History of the World Mark Booth Reads like an index of esoteric characters throughout the ages. Threaded together with this thing about us having a plant body within! Anyway read just to get 50 million ideas on 50 million other things to read from it. Growing your own food manuals: Gaia’s Garden Toby Hemenway is a book on how to build a permaculture garden. Heavy on theory but plenty of practical applications and lists use this especially if from U.S. Creating a Forest Garden Martin Crawford use if in UK but he gets into his goddamn political affiliations and I don’t care. If you hate that get the other book. Nevertheless good lists. Composting for a New Generation Michelle Balz The best composting manual ever! Started mine in February 2019 and now have black wormy humus and I rub it all over me! So if I can make it anyone can.

The bonus with a wormery (I bought mine) is there's a place where the liquid collects and you can draw it off - said to be a good all round mild feed but my plants go mental with it! If we don't all just die soon I plan to make a large slow compost enclosure for the bigger, tougher stuff.

THESTRONG-THEVALIANT
I'm reading a random page from " a seed that fell on the good ground " ... very interesting thank you for sharing the link. I only read Tolkien... so I can recommend all of his books (especially the new shadow it is only 13 pages long). Also books by " James Mahu " (the anonymous creator of wingmakers materials) can be found on sumbola as "e-book"... not free, but can be interesting (especially the weather composer)... paperbacks are from Planet work press. In the wingmakers materials there are warnings about trans-humanism - that's where I came in contact with the subject at first.
