Flashing satellites

Recommended Posts

On 2 separate occasions I've seen a satellite flashing in the night sky. The first time I wasn't sure but today I saw 1 pass slowly over head and it flashed every 5 to ten seconds until it disappeared out of view. I've read some articles online about satellites reflecting the sunlight and they're supposedly phasing them out or did already. But I feel that there is something more to this that I haven't realized yet, thoughts?

My thoughts are, the greed-mongering PTB haven't done enough polluting the ground and the air, they're next going to take on the night sky, filling with all manner of flashing, strobing satellite trains and whatever other obnoxious light pollution they can think up.  The Milky Way I used to stare at for hours late at night while laying on the picnic table in my parents backyard is soon going to be gone forever to us.  I believe staring up at the pristine heavens is a sublimely grounding exercise, and they want to take that away from us. Yeah, I'm a cynical old geezer.

Don't know. Could it be something to with the neuralink business? We all know that space flights are bunk. But I recall seeing a lot of flashing satellites and other flying objects in the sky during late summer and rest of the summer nights back in 2011. Did some of these lights suddenly grow in intensity, only for them to grow dimmer few moments later? I believe the term for the phenomenon is Iridium flare, but it kinda begs the question, where do they reflect the light during middle of the night?

Interesting point!

Being robbed of the night and the night sky is something whuch has been made worse with over-illumination by harsh white LED street lighting, exteriors of buildings and open spaces.

The sky where I live here in NC is light grey at night, not Black.   The city I grew up in, Charlottesville, is near a series of important Observatories, so they actually have light pollution laws that ban the type of lighting that shoots light outward or upward.  It's so completely different how much darker the sky looks when I visit back home.

I normally water my garden and feed the little strays later on of a night and usually see a few satellites going over. There was over 100 the other night! This link is very good, shows what satellite they are, what time they’re going over and where they are from your house https://james.darpinian.com/satellites/

The only satellites being 'phased out' that I know of are the Iridium satellites. They were low earth orbit communications satellites and when their solar panels caught the sun and they could flare up to be much brighter than Venus for a few seconds. (Venus maximum magnitude -4.9, Iridium -8!)

There are satellites that tumble in orbit which causes them to appear to flash.

There's a lot going on above our heads. I highly recommend some good night-vision binoculars to see what's going on.

Here is a link to a fascinating podcast about night vision equipment available to the public (and some that isn't) to observe weird stuff going on in the night skies.

Thank you everyone for your contributions.I saw one last night and tonight I saw 2. Pretty much anytime I go outside at night I  look above see one now before I finish 1 cigarette. How could they reflect sunlight after midnight when the suns on the other side of the globe? I think it could possibly be a form of light pollution and/or a light that is itself harmful to the environment or have something to do with holograms like project blue beam. I want to get one of those end devices and see if it spikes when one of these is passing over head.

some people think they are alien ships powering up, my friend thinks they are aliens flashing him (he's a bit self obsessed though)..

There's been a few ufo photographers who get decent footage of this stuff.. dean slattery is one, but there was another bloke down In Melbourne who had even better photos and film, but he's gone quiet.

That SpaceX Starlink 5G crap should never have been allowed to happen.  You'd think the human race should at least get a say in the destruction of our night sky.  Not anymore.  The fake pandemic and its aftermath and all of the things they're going to forcibly ram down our proverbial throats as a pretext to "stopping the virus", a virus that's just this year's flu strain, should be a hard lesson for all of us "truthers" that we are losing.  Or maybe, we have already lost and don't know it yet.  The sheeple outnumber us 25 to 1.  I really do not like labelling people, but in the case of sheeple, these people want to be clueless.  No one is tricking them or forcing them into being clueless, this is exactly how they want to be, because life is just a whole lot simpler and easier when you keep yourself completely ignorant of anything and everything except someone else's narrative.
